Glad to see this thread will go on forever. That being said, gently caress NCR forever. Either go independent or have House as a boss.

This is a thread that deserves it though, it's really great game.

Personally I support the NCR in what they do to stop the legion, but after that I agree with you.

House is a self professed ruthless autocrat. But so was Vetinari in Ankh-morpork.

I'll be his Vimes.

gently caress the NCR. I didn't aid that little girl in Fallout 2 for this.

Being a old school Fallout 1&2 fan I didn't know what to expect with Fallout 3. When I got and played it I thought it was ok, but afterwards I felt burned out.

Looking back the main plot was a railroad, the game lacked a lot of the charm the originals had and it bored me. I personally hated the subway sections and just found the DC ruins a grind more than anything. Also the ham fisted morality system just pissed me off more than anything. I also got sick of 3 dog very fast.

That being said, point look out was good fun, broken steel had its moments and...... Actually that is all I can come up with.

I went into New Vegas not expecting much and was sucker punched by obsidian, whom made in my opinion, a game which was the spiritual sequel to originals in everything but name. Its my favourite game for a reason.

For that reason I'm not touching Fallout 4, as I honestly think Bethesda suck at making Fallout games.

I just realised, Caesar's behaviour was in part influenced by his brain tumour.

That might not have been intended but it gives an interesting demention to it all.

Finally completed all the DLC in order. I confronted Ulysses and used Vegas as my reason.

I left my main decision on my play through until after the DLCs and I was happy I did so. I'm going for house as I think a self sufficient vegas deserves its shot.

I reason, with the tech I picked up in the Big Mt and with Yes man as a wild card, if house does not live up to his own word, I figure my courier can take him down.

Rather than touch this flaming rat turd I decided to go spoil the plot.

With out spoiling it for others(though I'd be doing people a service if I did), the plot is utter fan wank garbage.

Just keep playing New Vegas, play the new games and mourn the passing of old fallout in what ever way you can. Just dont play this game expecting anything like New Vegas.

This both justified my irrational hate for both prequels and fan fiction.

I'd like to be spoiled, where do I go? I don't feel like playing this weird monty haul fest any more.

I honestly won't do it justice. Its bad in so many different ways, a good LPr would do a better job ripping it to shreds.

It's very Mary Sue. Also FEV super powers?

I feel they kinda missed the point by apparently making the COurier a badass with a long and storied history of heroism and adventure, instead of just a schmuck who found himself at the wrong place, at the wrong time.

They essentially Mary Sue'd him to have wolverines super power and be a clone of the main character of the original game.

These are a great example of those 'wouldn't it be great if' ideas fans fantasise about game characters or a series that are just plainly awful and a example of self indulgent projection.

It's a form of mental masterbation, a writer litterly stroking his own ego until it ejaculates a horrid mess of power fantasy cliches and needless exposition on lore we didn't need.

Who is the best LPr SA has at criticising bad writing and how can we get him ASAP?

Play the full dlc, it's so worth it.

I thought I'd hate it, I even stopped playing after getting to Joshua the first time.

When I felt like I could trudge through it, I decided to play. By gently caress was I happy I did.

There is a reason people love Joshua Graham as a character, he has some of the best lines in the game.

If your lucky and you stick with it, you might also just hear one of the best lines of cathartic acceptance ever made.

Trust us. Reload of you shot him, stay the course. Don't let the fire inside consume you.

I don't think it was quite that short, but it was brief. I think Avellone did a great job coordinating the four DLCs, but it did mean that it was a brisk relay race where we were handing off resources rapidly and there weren't large margins for errors. Dead Money gave resources to Honest Hearts and Honest Hearts gave resources to OWB and OWB gave resources to Lonesome Road.

I mean, the other common/big complaint about Honest Hearts is that the main questline is pretty dull. Again, that's my fault. On base F:NV, designers could and did design the craziest quests with the wildest scripting they could imagine. Many of those quests took 2 or 3 times longer to implement than original estimates -- or they got cut from the game entirely. On Honest Hearts I really did give a No Fun Allowed order for quests because I wanted them to have as little risk as possible.

I thought I'd hate the dlc before I played. It's one of my favourite pieces of gaming.

Thanks for the good job!

A friend of mine advocated it enough that I gave it a chance and bought it, any words for his perseverance and utter love of the dlc?

Neither here nor there but the original Falliut 3 / Van Buren had a rogue faction of Brotherhood folks driven insane by stealth boy usage, they’re the ones who did all the BoS guerrilla warfare. That particular bit of VB ended up split into Elijah’s crusade in Dead Money and the Nightkin’s plight at the ski lodge

That's cool to know, also loved Elijah as a character.

I managed to get New Vegas working on my laptop, happy days are here again !

From watching the show, I personally like it a lot as a Fallout 3/4 show but hate what they did with the West coast lore.

That being said I am sad but acceptant, FNV 2 was never going to happen, so we got the best we could hope for:

We at least got the Van Buren ending lol.

From what we have seen of NV in the show, a lot of the damage could of come from a "Destroy the Secriton Army" Yes man ending
