Ascend a +5 weapon to make a Fire weapon and then a +5 Fire weapon to make either a +6 Fire or +1 Chaos. Ascend a +10 weapon to make a +1 Lightning weapon. Elemental weapons are plenty strong and a good idea since you vit gouged.

Well, who are the ones actually doing the port? From Software ported Ninja Blade to PC, and while the game is mediocre the port was supposedly decent. Namco Bandai just released Ridge Racer Unbounded for PC, but that was a Bugbear thing. Only Japanese developers to routinely release solid PC ports in the last few years are Capcom with MT Framework.

Oh god I hope they do some sort of steam integration and that GFWL is minimally annoying if they do end up using it. And I thought Dark Souls didn't really do matchmaking and you just hook up with random people on the internet.

Time to buy the PC version if it has true matchmaking. Wanna co-op this game so bad. Seems like the DLC is going to involve Gwyn's Knights a lot more. Its also impressive that a game description can write New Area - "Old Ruins" and I'm genuinely interested.

Yeah, the Ninja Blade port was solid, at least better than, say, Borderlands or Bulletstorm, even if the game was mediocre at best, and mouse + keyboard was not ideal.

So do we have any indication yet if the new content is going to be PC-exclusive? Because if it is, I'm going to be seriously annoyed. In that case, maybe when From publishes the next "Souls" game I should instead simply hold off on buying and adopt a wait-and-see attitude instead to avoid this kind of situation. Note: I am NOT saying that they should be releasing it as a free DLC for consoles (although it would be nice if they did), I'm happy to pay a small amount of money for it, but not to buy the whole game again!

I can't imagine they would make all this stuff and NOT release it on consoles, where they've got a million potential customers to buy it, but there's been no indication. The FB page is full of "DLC PLEAAAASEE" and "gently caress GFWL". Edit: but it probably won't be released till AFTER the PC version.

I really really want some sort of mechanic that matches up players that are in similar areas at similar levels so everyone gets tons of summons and phantoms and messages. Logging into XBL Dark Souls can be depressing sometimes when all you want to do is assist bros.

I'm really loving the additions to the PC version but I'm hoping there will be some form of group system since I am planning to play the game together with a friend all the way through. If the summoning system remains as it is I guess that means we'll have to kill every boss twice and that is kind of annoying :/

Now I don't know if I want the PC version because of GFWL. I was interested but if it actually has the tendency to delete save files for no reason I'm worried. Plus I won't be able to play with people from other regions

If you're referring to the Arkham City save bug deletion it also seemed to happen on PS3, showing that it wasn't directly related to GFWL so there is hope. Why they chose it over everything else available though is something I'll never understand (or why any company would choose GFWL).

I always assumed that Microsoft just gave you a big Scrooge McDuck bag full of money with dollar signs printed on it if you used GFWL. It seems like the most logical explanation for everyone continuing to use such a terrible service. Also I imagine the API is the same as XBOX Live, so it's really easy to port if you have an xbox version of your game.

There was a story about Microsoft basically begging them to come back. Holy poo poo looks like they are actually adding a fair bit of stuff. gently caress I'd be all over this if my computer was worth a drat. Really hope they release this as DLC for the console versions, I'd even pay for it. You'd think after all the love FROM got from this game, it is the least they could do, didn't it wildly exceed their sales expectations? Also if they don't I petition we start a new petition immediately! Smart move to include matchmaking, one of my primary reservations about porting this to PC was that the online component would frustrate the poo poo of of PC gamers. Although they decided to go with GFWL, also if people are moaning about the console game being hacked/cheated with, I'm sure the PC version will be 100x easier to gently caress around with unless they include some kind of checks.
