So I just killed that drake with a single arrow from on top of the knight's tower overlooking the bridge. It just disappeared, then the next thing I know I'm getting 10k souls. It was awesome.

You can definitely do this immediately after reaching Firelink. It's not too helpful other than for repairs as you don't have much in the way of titanite though.

Peppi posted:Where can I find the first blacksmith? Go to Firelink Shrine near the bonfire. Right near it is a staircase down (it's real easy to miss, the mopey guy mentions it sometimes). Down there you'll find a girl in a cage, and Lautrec. If you keep on going down you can take an elevator to Londo Ruins, where there's a blacksmith in a cage down some stairs. He also sells some magic. The other blacksmith early on is in the Undead Parish. Imagine you're facing the church head on, with those three charging knight guys. Walk forwards into the church, then turn right and keep going straight past three minor undead enemies. Keep going straight down that path, you can't miss it. I should probably grind like 500 souls to upgrade my Scimitar from +2 to +3 to do marginally more damage to Capra Demon. Scimitar is a pretty cool weapon in general, it has B scaling with Dex and it was unique kick animation where you do a quick slash and then backflip away. It also comes out superfast so you can interrupt and stunlock most weak enemies.

Well, i one-shotted the gargoyles easily just entering on a whim, but i'm completely cockblocked by the capra demon. I'm a caster in leather ![]() Currently a hollew with a summoning sign just outside capra, just to perhaps gain some humanity so i can reverse hollowing and try to summon pals myself afterwards. EU seems completely devoid of people though.

Any tips for getting off backstabs? Even when the enemy hasn't noticed me it seems like I just can't get the positioning right. Also, will installing the game on my HDD make Blighttown run any better? Jesus christ how did this slow down get past playtesting.

For one, it can't be parried. The range isn't anything like it says. It is very much a close range weapon. It is fairly slow. It does have nice reach for things above or below you though, like the flies in blighttown.

I've been using Drake Sword and it works occasionally. Bandit's Knife seems to get them off easily, but the normal damage is so piddling. Feh, I guess I could set it as an alternate weapon.

Warning about the blacksmith in the catacombs Don't let the pinwheel skeletons follow you into the room with him or they might kill him ;( No fire weapons for me. On a positive note, I killed the boss and am in the pitch black portion. drat that boss was easy.

Found the (armor)ninja/shadow armor in Blighttown, looking like a badass and close to my fast rolling butcher sword character from DeS who was in black rags. But I seem to be stuck... is there a boss here? I reached what I think is the end at the bottom, getting rewarded with a fire keeper soul. Not sure what to do from here, any tips? Do I have to go all the gently caress back?

Forgive me if this is a stupid question. Even the guide isn't clear on this (at least I haven't read it yet) but what does enchanting a piece of armor with divine, fire, lightning, faith, etc., do? Raise your resistance against that particular type of attack?

You'll come to a room with a spiral staircase going downward and a couple of alcoves, one with a skeleton. Kill the skeleton, and the two skeletons at the bottom. Find the steps that go down in this room. The steps will eventually end. You'll need to run off the end of the steps to a platform. Keep going down in this little area until you get to a broken chunk of floor/ceiling. There is only one way to go here, so you can't really get lost. Drop through the broken ceiling and you are there. Do your smithing, then get raped by wheel skeletons.

I have noticed that a bunch of really basic enemies have a crazy attack where they grab you and bite/stab you till you die, is there any way to get out of their grip or is it just a random bullshit death thing? They can do it through your block and there's at least 3 enemy types that have done it to me so far.

If you're going to make a dex based character and expect to be able to get the best bow in the game, don't. A non-respawning character drops the only bow in the game with an S dex damage modifier (and extra range) doesn't even drop it all the time. The second best choice is just an upgraded longbow, which misses out on extra range and only has an A modifier. This is not 'fair', it's lame. Really lame when this happens 5+ hours into the game and you realize your character will not have another chance to get a bow that doesn't suck until new game+. e: or a little while longer in game. I might be overreacting but drat this is annoying. Pickled Kittens fucked around with this message at Oct 8, 2011 around 15:59 |
