I was stuck in the same place till I upgraded my weapon from the Drake Sword, I used a +10 Murakumo and ripped it apart. The best thing about changing weapons is you can the the gold pine resin on other weapons which ads a decent amount of damage.

Do yourself a favor and get some stuff to resist fire better. The Crimson Set that is in Blighttown (in the giant wheel area) is an awesome armor set, but it also has great Fire resistance. Also, make sure your shield can resist a decent amount as well. I used an un-upgraded Hollow Soldier's Shield, which helped tremendously.

Also, if you see the female part lay down on the spider and hug it, cut your losses and run away, she's about to explode. Don't get too greedy with attacks either, this is about the time when the Drake Sword starts being less effective unless you upgrade it (and even then it's not all that great.)

This is untrue. You don't even need to remove your shield. Just put the bow in your right-hand slot, and tap RB once. The shield will automatically grey out, and you'll wield it. Then tap LB to aim.

Here's a guy brute forcing the Four Kings down, starts at the elevator. He pretty much runs straight to the fog door.

That's pretty much how I did it. Havel's armor, +5 Black Knight Sword. They do WAY less damage with their melee swings if you are close in, so you just get right up in their face, switch to two handed, and go nuts. Just block when they do their explosion and dodge when they do the grab (both SUPER telegraphed) and keep swinging. With my gear I could kill a king 5-10 seconds before the next spawned, SUPER easy.

EDIT: Forgot one trick that helped a bit: Eat a Green Blossom before the first one spawns, let's you burst them down much faster.

I noticed that too. But also, the skeletons WILL pull the levers themselves to stop your progress. I had one close it and crush a friend. It was pretty hilarious.

Oh hey, you can make a greatshield with the wolf's soul. I saw the option pop up on the list when I was making the crystal ring shield out of a +10 balder shield. I didn't see this on the list of boss weapon upgrades someone posted from the wikispaces site, so I thought I'd share that with you all. I'd post the stats, but I already converted the shield I had. I'm upgrading another shield to +10 soon, I'll update then.

EDIT: Also I'm sitting in Anor Londo after putting up my gravelord eye of death, and I've noticed the main entry way fog up for awhile before it dissipated. I think someone was trying to invade me and just failed to connect. Will my gravesign keep trying to connect to new people, or am I wasting time by sitting here waiting?

I was using the +5 fury sword because it is so good, but on a whim decided to fully upgrade the zweihander to lightning +5. Holy goddamn, 730 damage. It gets resisted down a bit sure but the 4 guys past the locked door in the forest all die in 1 R2 hit (the axe guy must be weak to lightning because I hit for 850 damage).

The energy usage is poor though. You can't really roll around and combo like you can with the fury sword. Still in 2 minds which would be better for invasions.
Put lightning +5 on a longsword instead. That leaves you with a nice low endurance per swing weapon, plus you have a thrust for tight corridors.

Honestly, I am starting to consider longswords one of the best weapons in the game.

Furysword is great, though, and potentially one of the few good options for dex stacking.

One of the soldiers there runs back and hits the lever every time you wake him up. So shoot him with an arrow and lure him to you first.

Stock up on Firebombs, take off all your armour

When you enter the area, edge forward until you trigger him to jump out then immediately sprint back to the ladder to the left of the opening (kill the two skeletons up there before the fight). Get your rear end up there and immediately do a plunging attack down. The timing on this isn't too harsh. Once that's done just roll away, keep your shield up and throw some firebombs. Make sure you take about 15 into the fight with you. I also recommend that you find/buy a shield that blocks 100% of physical damage as then you're only managing your stamina as you'll be able to block every hit provided you have enough stamina to take the hit

Before you go up the last ladder, look behind you on a ledge. You may also have to go back to Fireshrine and talk to him first.

Have the white soapstone, be in human form, and keep a lookout for white signs which you can examine to summon another player. Some of the NPC's only appear after you kill their invading form. Others you have to talk to before they will show up for some bosses.

Just find their signs on the ground (usually right before you enter a boss area), sometimes they're obvious, sometimes they're hidden.

You have to ride it down. Once you've done that, though, they're always available (one will always be up and the other down, so you can go in either direction).
