Also also, what can't I kill in order to stay in the forest hunters? Sen's Fortress is kicking my arse so I want some seasoning in Darkwood (and a wolf pelt!).

It has very good defense and poise, but is of course incredibly heavy.

You can't kill humans, mushrooms, and catbears as far as I know. I think everything else is ok.

man what

I ran into curse frogs today.
I was going along happily in the depths, found a bonfire, was wondering when I was going to fight that giant rat (I hadn't found the shortcut chute yet), and I decided that instead of going through a white light door I'd go a different direction.
Hmm is that some gushing water?
What happens if I walk over oh poo poo I'm faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall ow.

OK so these are the curse frogs, wow the curse frogs are really weak but curse builds up quick. Oh poo poo one came from behind and aaaah aaaah YOU HAVE DIED. CURSED.

Well, it gave me an excuse to get the Firekeeper's Soul in New Londo before just using an item to cure my curse. Then I went down to Darkroot and killed a Hydra.

Question: This area seems to lead up to the place behind the 20000soul door. Does that mean I never really have to buy that key? Is that even viable?

Oh, I also got my rear end kicked by Stray Demon multiple times before I decided to just leave the goddamn place, I already got everything else I went to the Asylum for, like the Peculiar Doll, Crest Shield and ring. A boss with a one-shot attack and an almost one-shot at range isn't especially fun.

The 20 000 soul door is basically just a shortcut and also allows you to grind really easily and quickly. The enemies near it give about 2000 souls each. Also if the Stray Demon kills you in one hit, you probably went to fight him too early.

Boars never take much damage head on. You should be stuffing your weapon up their assholes to kill them or be using magic of some kind. As for where you should try right now, I'd say New Londo is one of the easier places to finish. Just wear your Covetous Gold Serpent ring so you never run out of transient curses.

So I was reading the last few (thousand) posts in the thread and people were upset that there was no reward for pumping Str and Dex past 18 or so for weapon requirements. What should I be pumping to swing a weapon faster, then? And if I'm not pumping Str or Dex much, does it matter whether I use a spear instead of a Str-scaling weapon?

Most of the info on stats is complete BS. Endurance and Vitality are 2 of the best stats to put into if you aren't going with magic, and once you have enough Str and Dex to wield the weapons you want.

I couldn't seem to buttstab it, which was weird. I took out the first one back in the undead parish really easily but can't get the angle on these, even if i'm directly behind them, slightly left/right, whatever.

Also I never got that ring...it's from Sen's, right? I spent way too long there to miss it but I managed to anyway.

... pretty sure that would be the most awesome way forward - my tank'y pyromancer becomes A freakin' DRAGON (!), and I can just keep dumping points into Endurance to pump it up.

With 40 endurance (max sta.) it lasts around 3-4 seconds and I want to say it deals around 350-400 damage. It's fun to play with, but the stamina/damage ratio is nowhere near as good as an upgraded weapon.

The main reason for joining the covenant is the blue eye orb that allows you to invade the world of people in the book of the guilty. It's sort of the PvP-hunter covenant, but I do agree that it should have some sort of nice melee reward for joining as well You do get a sword later though when you move up the ranks

Yeah, it is. It's at the bottom of the long staircase with multiple turns that boulders are rolling down. At the bottom, boulders should have filled up the pit allowing you to walk over them where you should see a body with the ring on a railing.

No, the only rewards for Darkmoon are what he mentioned, the miracle (which is a weapon enchantment) and the talisman.

The solution to this boss, and all bosses is just summon two dudes (who hopefully aren't idiots)so you can split the bosses up and you can just destroy them easily. Though I was like level 70 at the time so maybe I was just over leveled, I even used a lightning zweihander and the lightning resistant guy still died in no time at all.

You can get one eventually from the Chaos Servant covenant. I'm not sure what the exact requirements are to get it, but I do know that after I used the talk option with the merchant there one time, he asked me if I wanted a pyromancy flame.

I've been killing the Capra Demon over and over as a White Phantom to join the Sunlight Warriors and have even put a message near the entrance saying, "Try: Blocking". When they summon me I greet and then raise my shield, lower it, raise it again over my message trying to get them to read it or maybe see my motion.

Any time someone has died before I got in there to make goat hashbrowns, I see them rolling, getting hit mid-roll by a wolf and getting combo'd down. The worst is when they refuse to back off away from the Capra Demon after their roll has made them take tons of damage and the Demon has its focus on me and is unable to get through my guard. Why do people do this?

With upgrades, I saw a chart that said uniques can only go up to +5 and can't be ascended to have elemental properties. How can I tell if a weapon is unique like that, or is just a special/better version of a normal weapon. Like I've got the gargoyle tail axe, and it seems to act just like my battle axe, even requiring the same shard to upgrade. I don't want to spend my souls+shards getting it to +5 only to realise I can't go any further.

Also argh gaping dragon argh stop eating the phantoms I summon. (this includes players) I need them as meat shields while I hit the legs argh.
