So I just beat the Capra Demon and had a few questions: 1. Am I strong enough to head back to the asylum? I dont want to get stuck there if Im not. 2. Rhea and her pals have disappeared on their quest but Petrus remains. Should I have killed Petrus sooner if I wanted her alive?

You can't get stuck there. The boss is tough until you figure him out, but once you've got it down he is easy. Everything there is optional and you can get back at any time.

Drake Lake posted:My friend got this game recently, but he has a really weird controller issue. For whatever reason, items get used when he didn't push a button, so sometimes he might be fighting an enemy and he'll suddenly drink an Estus Flask, or he might switch weapons/two-handed style when his fingers weren't on the D-Pad at all. Any ideas? Sounds like a problem with the controller. There are some issues with queued actions and delayed inputs, but inputs that he's certain he's not making are probably due to a damaged controller. Any chance he can try another controller out and see if the same issues persist?

Little tip, anything that says it boosts 'sorceries' seems to boost all spells. I'm doing much more damage with pyromancy wearing the crown of dusk and the sorcery damage ring.

It looks like you can't but you can. Great Hollow can be defeated!

Since less damage is dealt the farther away things are, is it static (e.g., 50m away is -30 damage) or scaling (e.g., 50m away is -30% damage), distance static (e.g., 40% of the range away is -30 damage) or distance scaling (e.g., 40% of the range away is -30% damage)? Where is the best place for me to try to get some titanite chunks having just beat Anor Londo? I want to get my claymore enchanted to lightning before fighting the New Londo Ruins boss, but it seems...quite rare, and the options listed in the wiki don't seem to be helpful unless you're at endgame.

In New Londo itself. Darkwraiths drop Titanite Chunks pretty often, and even rarely Titanite Slabs. They're kind of a pain in the rear end to farm, though, due to there not being any bonfires in all of New Londo Ruins.

I defeated the boss in Tomb of Giants and now I want to farm the tiny skeletons for humanity but... do I really have to warp out and go through the entire tomb again to get to them? Or is there a way out of the Altar of the Gravelord that doesn't involve warping? I don't know if I'm cool with running back from Firelink.

Holy poo poo, you can heal with humanity as a phantom? Pretty far into my own SL1 run and I'm having fun being a massive dick to newbie players in the Burg. The area right outside the bonfire is just small enough to catch most people with a firestorm without giving them room to dodge out of range.

I seem to be invading people in NG+ and higher, who have 70 or more soul levels then me. Does this mean I can glitch max level and invade whoever I want? I thought it +-10%

DEX builds are not too good as far as i can tell. I'm nearing the end of NG+ now and my attack power has plateaued around 450-500; that's the highest the elemental weapons get and that's where scaling drops off dramatically. STR weapons go way higher, INT has crystal spells, but DEX just stalls here. bummer Is there anything I'm missing?

So my no-weapons-but-cestus run has run headlong into an O&S shaped wall at the end of Anor Londo. I just can't hurt Ornstein fast enough before I die, not without a shield to turtle behind. Does anyone know if O&S are vulnerable to toxic (dung pile) or poison (purple charcoal) before I waste a lot of time trying to get those to stick?

Bleed is great in PvE, but not that many enemies are vulnerable to it. Pretty good in PvP too as the bleed effect will build up even if they block. Dex weapons, or rather fast weapons in general are good for buffing. With the Oolacile catalyst great magic weapon adds ~200 magic damage. It adds that much whether you put it on a greatsword or a dagger so quick weapons will get the most benefit.

Priscilla's Scythe is pretty underwhelming, both in PvE and PvP in my experience. I use it because it looks awesome, though. So does the Bloodshield. The iaito is pretty good; fast attacks and a solid bleed. The bandit knife just has too low damage to be truly effective because you're pretty much entirely reliant on bleed. I've never tried buffs, though. I failed to get Priscilla's tail
