Nearly 100 people at my local Gamestop's midnight release. I was the only one there for Dark Souls. I may see the sun come up tonight.

Just picked up my copy at Best Buy. I went 20 minutes out of my way to preorder at this store since it was the only place with the CE available for preorder, yet all they had in stock was the regular edition. Oh well. Time to go die a few dozen times before sleeping.

I don't think this counts as a spoiler since it's just talking about a feature from Demon's that makes an appearance here as well, but just in case... You know how at the end of 3-1, you beat the boss and monsters come and carry you away to another place? That happens in Dark Souls too. Except that you can't get back, since there's no nexus to teleport to And then from there it's possible to wander into another place inside THERE that you can't get back from either. I'm two layers deep in poo poo now...

I put in the code from the card on the download page, and it says the code has already been used? Is it not working?

That's part of the charm of the game, I remember the same thing with those iron-maidens in 3-1 in Demon's Souls. You knew they were trapped, they couldn't all have cool loot, but hey maybe the guy putting down notes was lying.

My favorite part of the game is looking over those big vistas, seeing the orange glowing messages on some of the paths, and realizing that most of stuff there isn't a part of the skybox. I still can't believe that this is the same company that gave me Evergrace, much less a company that is doing JRPGs right in the HD era.

So did that 1.03 patch also change it to where (tutorial spoilers) the master key no longer gets you into that room with the magic sword? I thought it was suppose to be that door straight down the hall from the fog door above the tutorial boss. My masterkey isn't working on that door and I actually had to check to see if it was still in my inventory.

Also today I broke my covenant with the Way of White and joined up with some other group that a nice spider lady introduced me to. I think it's called the Chaos Servants or something. Sounds like a great group of people!

So I have been avoiding everything Dark souls so I didn't ruin anything until the game came out. What does that key I got from doing the glyph thing months ago do for me in the game?

First death was me trying to make a jump to reach an item. I didn't die at all during the tutorial.

Nope, the second floor locked door in the tutorial can't be accessed until later in the game. The magic sword you're thinking about might be the one in the Valley of the Drakes (going through the ruins below Firelink), accessible early using the master key.

Ordered from Amazon a few months ago, it'll be here tomorrow night around 6. Why do I have to go to work, I just want to play Dark Souls all day. Non of my friends give a poo poo about this game, but hey they didn't care about the first one either.

Does the Old Witch's Ring cause something later in the game? I picked it as my gift because I already had a master key for being a thief, and it seemed ominous.

Only disadvantage to grinding up my stats is the inability to twink out and grief lowbies/Get invaded by higher lvl pvpers right? Also ended up joining the Way of the White. Is there a way to check what a covenants rules are easily? The hp regen ring seems pretty weak :/ Think I should've gone for the master key.

Is there some stat requirement for backstabs? I'm the Thief and attacking dudes from directly behind (which I remember being all it took in Demon's?) but it's not happening. Must be something simple I'm missing because it's not even in the instruction book or any of the wikis.

There's a sweet spot, but it's difficult to find.

Holy gently caress. I don't care if you watched 10 hours of streaming DON'T watch the Gamespot review. It is literally the most spoiler filled game ruining piece of poo poo I have ever seen. Whoever edited it deserves a punch in the jaw. The best part is that at the end he says "there is literally a surprise around every corner" after they showcase just about every boss and area in the entire game. Not anymore you stupid rear end in a top hat! NESguerilla fucked around with this message at Oct 4, 2011 around 06:45 |
