Anybody have issues with the Collector's Edition code not working? I put mine in exactly like it says on the card and it's telling me it's not valid. All I really want is the soundtrack, but that's still a huge bummer.

I love how varied of an experience everyone has with the different bosses. I beat the gargoyle on my first try without knowing anything more about him than what the E3 gameplay footage showed (i.e. There were two of them). I just summoned the Solaire and Astora's Sword helped me do the rest (though I did miss the axe because I killed the gargoyle before I could take his tail off). I'm running a Knight focusing on endurance primarily at the moment (since movement and stamina are always my two key factors) but picking up the Heal miracle and basically having 10 Estus Flasks + and 5 casts of Heal is extremely nice for slogging through new areas. I also really enjoy all of the shortcuts and bonfires element so much better than the hub design. Sure it makes it a little more of a trek to each of the different vendors or helpers, but the game just seems to flow better and seem so much grander.

I died on the first attempt to get it due to those stupid plant dudes and their grab attack (is that even blockable!?) and then I tried to be sneaky the second time and took the long way around, killed two plant dudes and this enormous sleeping stone knight who cast magic to slow me down or something! and crept over towards the item, only to get ambushed by two more plants (who I was expecting) and ANOTHER giant stone dude. I run past, grab the armor and my bloodstain, run away, hit a dead end with yet another giant stone dude, and try to run wearing heavier armor away from the quick enemies, end up getting grabbed and barely escaping...only to get sucker stabbed from three yards away! Haha, I just did this and I feel bad for luring a poor phantom to his demise as well. I just didn't know what was ahead of us. Serious though, gently caress those huge knights.

Great, I grinded 20k souls to open the forest area and now I can't get that invisible knight down to more than 50% health. That is the single most annoying thing they could have added to this game.

It's really obnoxious that the Maneater 2: The Gargoylening fight doesn't have a big pilar in the middle of the arena to hide behind this time. Be in human form and summon the Solaire or a human player to help out. Splitting the Gargoyle's attention is a huge help. Also use the gold pine resin to electrify your weapon if you have it. The Gargoyle's are really weak to it. Also try to cut off the first one's tail if you can. You'll get a special weapon.

Kaboobi posted:edit: It also turned out the secret to beating the Capra Demon was to boost my Hollow Shield to +5, my elite armors to +3, and just keep trading blows with him until he died Honestly the easiest way to do it is just to run up the stairs and onto the top of the archway. Only the dogs can get up to you, so you can kill them pretty easily. From there just jump off the arch and plunging attack the Demon, then sprint/roll away and rinse/repeat. The designers are really fond of the plunging mechanic and seem to give you a lot of opportunities to use it.

I've been sitting out in front of Sif, helping tank for other players and whittle down my Faith requirement for the Sun Warriors covenant. She's not too bad if you stand right underneath her and stay out of her arcs, and having someone to distract her is awesome but I'm probably going to have to solo her because I don't want to risk being invaded in the forest (I'm a huge baby). Also, Flask +3 is ridiculous. It fills like 5 bars of health in one gulp.

Well, not knowing I needed to clear Anor Londo to get into the end of the Tomb of the Giants resulted in a pretty frustrating journey last night, but I did manage to scrounge up some decent supplies (Like the 90% lightning block shield). I really need to upgrade my weapons. My Divine Halberd was great for the Catacombs, but the Giants just laughed at it. Thankfully my old buddy Zweihander was able to stunlock the Giants and save me A LOT of grief. So I'm at a bit of a crossroads now. I'm SL 56ish and not really sure where to head to next. I think I'm going to sweep through New Londo next, then Sen's Fortress. I just joined the Sun Warriors, but I've pretty much outleveled all of the other bosses in the area so it's pretty difficult to find anyone to summon me to help out for my covenant. I'm guessing just kicking around in Sen's Fortress and Anor Londo will help a great deal with this. Oh well, it's off to get punished...

Well, Priscilla just rocked my poo poo hard. Is there a good strategy for her as a heavily armored melee fighter? I've got a Lightning Spear +3, Zweihander +10, Blessed Halberd +4, and a Fire Shotel +5 available. Beat Priscilla with a little help from a ringwraith and a knight, and before that I also got to fight off the most boring invasion ever. I had Eagle Shield, Lightning Spear, full Stone Armor and the Old Man Mask and he's trying to toss fire at me which I wasn't having any problem hopping around. I finally manage a backstab that takes off 2/3rds of his life and he panics and just starts keeping about 30 feet in between us for about 5 minutes straight before finally popping some humanity to heal himself and then pulling out a spear and trying the same thing against me. I get the better of the exchanges and when he goes to heal with more humanity I put him down with a backstab. Ashes to ashes, bitch. Cakeequals posted:Man, what is it with Dragons and suiciding?
