If anyone else is having trouble kicking, you have to basically jerk the stick forward at the same time you hit R1. If your guy actually moves you were too slow.

How do I manually aim with bows and crossbows? LB, LT, and RB all fire, RT makes my character do this weird jerk movement, none of the d-pad directions do anything, and the face buttons do what they always do.

Unless you CAN'T aim with bows and crossbows, in which case, why the hell is this message trying to tell me to go for headshots at the top of a tower in Undead Burg?

I'm pretty sure you can only aim w/ regular bows. Make sure you're wielding it with two hands, then hit L1 (on PS3).

So what's the best way to get past that first dragon? I managed to get down below once or twice but thanks to poor judgement and silliness I died to the two guys down there.

Should I strip down to nudity in order to just book it straight across the bridge? I tried it in light armor but I just didn't move fast enough, even to bait him and then run backwards.

Sprint to the stairs, then look around down the stairs cause there's a ladder you can kick down to get to a bonfire. Then after that you can kill those guys and snipe his tail.

I'm playing as a warrior, I got the flame and I bought a spell, but I don't know how to use magic. Do I need to "attune" it or whatever? What do I need to raise/obtain to get attunement slots? Is it worth pursuing?

I just beat the Gaping Dragon, stuck my nose in Blighttown and of course got clubbed to death. Are there any side areas I should have explored by now to get some rad equipment? I've already killed the Butterfly and Havel but nothing else that I can think of.

I killed them about 10-20 times and didn't get any drops. What's the trick to getting them to fall off?

I hate watching these youtube videos of guys methodically picking apart bosses and being all like "yeah, this boss is really lame" and beating them on the first try.

I think Quelaag was the first boss fight I've actually enjoyed so far. Not too cheap, plenty of opportunity to dodge.

Post-Quelaag question: So I told the creepy egg sac guy next to the bell room I wasn't a servant and now he won't talk to me, but I see in this other vid you can just attack him and walk through to upgrade your estus. Is that cool or will that gently caress things up for me? And where should I go to next?

Also, is the Drake Sword worth upgrading? Has anyone found a better weapon so far?

So, is a mostly ranged character viable at all? I noticed there was a hunter starting class.

It's just that my other characters have bows for drawing enemies and such but they're so cumbersome and slow to use. Especially when I need to take out a bow wielding Hollow, it's so hard to get off a shot and avoid his arrows. Does drawing and firing get any faster?

I think that would make this game even more frustrating, and its not like it needs any help in this regard.

Found it. Once you get outside on the roof (where the dude starts throwing firebombs at you), you go up two staircases and then there's a break in the railing that you fall off of and land at the bonfire.

You can kill it with arrows, or I think there's a path you can use to go behind it. There should be a really tall ladder right around that area that you can follow to get behind it. I didn't do that so I'm not sure if you can backstab it or fight it or something, I just noticed that following that path drops you behind where it is

You should be going up to the chamber where the balls come from. There's a small side passage (the one that's smaller than the doors the balls go out of). I actually didn't explore that whole area, but I know if you do it right it's possible to run up from the way you enter there
