Of course the BX on base doesn't have it in stock yet when I checked on my lunchbreak. I was all pumped to race a couple laps in the Cee'd before I had to go back to work. I guess I'll pick it up at Gamestop afterwards instead of waiting a few days and not paying tax.

I just spent about 45 racing the Top Gear starter car open rival event, and broke into the top %3 in the world with a profit of about 500k CR just from bounties. It's half a lap on the top gear track, with a lap time of about 47 seconds. Anyone I've raced with can tell you I'm no good, so even if you have just a little bit of talent, you can make some very easy money upgrading an F class car (go Chevy Spark!) and trying it out.

Just browsing though the car store, finding ways to waste money when I saw the '90 Camaro and got a great idea for a livery. Luckily I got lazy and checked the storefront first, because they did a better job than I could have hoped to do. Jeremy Clarkson's Camaro: ![]() edit: I'm also taking the plunge into manual + clutch, making my driving finally assist-free. The one question I have with that is when racing, do I shift like regular manual, except just mash the A button in addition to the shift up/down button, or should I be using the clutch like I would in my own car? (ie- clutch in, brake, shift down, little gas, clutch out, and go) pkells fucked around with this message at Oct 22, 2011 around 15:55 |

General Probe posted:I wanted to let it slide but I just can't: You brake when you shift? When downshifting around a corner, yeah. Not while going straight. Should have mentioned that. In one of the LLJK races last week, someone mentioned painting the Mercedes 190E like a WWII Me-109. Well, I got bored today, so I'm here to present the Mercedes-109: ![]() ![]() And an old-timey shot: ![]() It's up on my storefront (MmmPadraig), keyword lljk

It's nice to know that after not playing online for a while (since Skyrim) I haven't gotten any worse at virtual driving. The problem is that I haven't gotten any better either...

I was driving around on base today, and within 30 minutes, I saw an original Mini, a mint '84 Sirocco, and a Fiero. This is even more amazing to me because I'm usually swimming in a sea of pickups, Chargers, and stock Mustangs. The girl I was driving with gave me a blank stare when I got excited over the VW. I think I've been playing too much Forza.

I think that early in your Forza career, just keep playing through the world tour mode, winning cars and credits, and getting better at the game. Try to stick with similar manufacturers so you can level up your affinity and get free upgrades. No sense trying to poopsock races to earn money, because before you know it, you'll be swimming in cars and credits, and be much better at the game. Also, start taking off more assists before you get comfortable with using them. The more you have turned off, the bigger your bonus will be after a race, all the way up to 100%+ of your reward.

Just ordered the MS wireless wheel on sale yesterday for $40, so I'm excited to have to relearn how to drive. I finally got back to Forza after going away for work for a few weeks, and holy poo poo, you guy weren't kidding about the King of the Ring challenge this month. I did about 3 laps and called it quits. That car is terrible.

I said come in! posted:I'm interested in hearing your opinions on this wheel. I originally laughed at it as a toy for kids (this was before the device came out), to enjoy Forza 4, but apparently it can be a truly legitimate wheel alternative. I was pretty skeptical, but the reviews on amazon were overwhelmingly positive. Most of the negetive comments focused on not being able to use it more than a select few games. Reviews from Forza users said it was great though. I wasn't going to spend that much for full setup, but hey, $40 isn't bad.

ForbiddenWonder posted:just picked this up, it's so much better than the earlier ones. the jump to 60 fps makes a huge difference. my GT is TravH88, I like D and C class. is the speed wheel worth $40?? I picked it up a few weeks ago, and will get around to writing a little review eventually, but to sum things up: -If you've never used a wheel for a racing sim, it's great. A much deeper experience than a controller. -You don't mind not using a mic while racing online or don't plan on racing online (big mistake), because there's no mic input. I guess if you have that wireless bluetooth earpiece it'll work. Or don't mind switching to controller to race online. For $40, it's well worth it, if those two things above don't turn you off from it.

If anyone is watching rallycross at the xgames on ESPN, that race started like a typical pubbie F4 race (ie- everyone going into the wall on the first turn).
