Finished all of the European races on the Event List today. For vinyl editor updates in Forza 5, I would like to be able to put text and decals on windows, like in Shift 2. Another car customization feature that I would love to have is the ability to take out a stock cars interior and replace it with a racing one. Also like in Shift 2, but to be fair, Slightly Mad only had to model this for 120 unique cars.

I don't suppose we'll start hearing about the December DLC Pack next week? I'm getting excited at what might be in it. :O The only thing i've heard so far is the rumor of a new Hyundai, that a lot of people seem convinced will be in.

I still have fingers crossed for a race track DLC pack after the 6 planned car packs come out. I've read rumors that Turn-10 was scanning tracks still, just before Forza 4 came out.

I've been playing Forza 4 more and more now without any driving aids, and have gotten really good with R1 cars. Setting faster lap times then I did with ABS and TC enabled. This is with a gamepad, so I won't ever be able to compete with the fastest players, but I can do well and not make mistakes. With no driving aids enabled, the driving model feels really good. In Gran Turismo 5, your car would just decide for no reason at all to spin you, it was completely terrible and unrealistic to play that without aids.

A lot of it comes down to Turn-10 being able to get permission to barrow someones car and scan it. They probably have to take whatever they can get.

I've seen a few people complain about wanting endurance races to come back in the event list, I think they are crazy though. I wouldn't do them either.

I've done over 60% of the Events List and am pretty much finished with it now. Now I just do multiplayer with other players, or setup my own races against the A.I., and pick the tracks I want and set the laps for about 7 laps on hard A.I. with no assists. Everyonce in a while i'll do more laps. The multiplayer is a dream come true for me, it offers everything i've wanted for customization.

Yes, the Gran Turismo games have those settings, and I wish they were in Forza. With ABS and TC both set between 1 - 3 in GT5, the driving felt pretty good in any car.

I just have to hope they asked IGN's resident car guy, and he isn't horrible. But, any cars given to Turn-10 still ultimately come down to what Turn-10 is actually able to get permission to scan into the game.

If there's ever a GT6, I hope they copy a lot of Forzas accessibility. That's one of my favorite things about FM4, is being able to drive any car at any time and once I can actually afford to have it in my garage, not having to wait to purchase it. The standard cars really ruined GT5, since they made up so much of the car list.

But most of that time spent was doing the same few races over and over again, either because I had to, or they were the only viable options for making money. Imagine Forza 4's leveling and experience system, but you get absolutely no rewards for doing it, it takes hundreds of hours more to reach the cap, and leveling up is required to access cars and content, that is GT5 in a nutshell.

What the hell is going on with the side windows.. giant drops of water constantly flickering past? All of the weather and dynamic weather too came at a really steep cost to the games performance. It screen tears like mad, and the frame rate drops quite a bit. I would rather have FM4s always 60fps gameplay, over weather and dynamic day/night cycles.

Got the prices for the DLC cars; Alfa Romeo Spider - F 145 and 5,000 CR. Chevrolet Chevelle - D 329 and 60,000 CR. Ford Escort - E 201 and 35,000 CR. Ford Raptor - D 280 and 42,000 CR. Maserati 300 S - C 420 and 1,000,000 CR. Maserati GT4 - S 674 and 220,000 CR. Mazda RX-8 - C 411 and 27,000 CR. Pontiac Fiero - E 233 and 5,000 CR. Suzuki Monster - R1 878 and 1,000,000 CR. VW Scirocco - F 102 and 5,000 CR. I was worried the Suzuki Monster and Maserati 300 S would be ridiculous to afford. Turns out I have just enough credits right now to buy all of these for my garage.

ANAmal.net posted:Not to be all serious business about internet racecars, but GTCC isn't supposed to be the generic goon group, and it's not the overflow for people who missed getting into LLJK. It's a club for bros to crash into Phancypants every Wednesday and make dick joke. Dudes have been racing together for years, and while new members are certainly encouraged, we'd rather have a smaller club whose members are more active, than a full one where 90% of them are playing Skyrim all the time. If folk want to join for our weekly homoerotic book club, that's cool, but don't just pile in because the other clubs are dead, that's not how GTCC works. I can never join PhancyPants stupid lobby anyways because he lives in Canada, in the part where its snows all the time and there's polar bears. I always ran him off the track in GT5 though, that was good times.

ColdPie posted:I dunno, all I want is a club where there's ad-hoc races going on a few evenings per week, just by virtue of having enough people online that it's worth throwing a lobby together. Also, the less gimmicky poo poo races the better. The best way to do this is to just add regular Forza 4 goons to your friends list, you really don't have to be a club to make this work. I'm not in one of the goon clubs and I still get invites to their races. Start up a private lobby and start inviting everyone who is playing Forza 4 at the time. Another option is to make a post in this thread, with a set time that you'll be getting races together. Hangout in the IRC channel too. Don't wait for someone else to get something together.

Turn-10 is giving away December DLC codes throughout this weekend, so people should be posting impressions of the new cars soon. It kinda sucks though that the cars are now up on Xbox Live, but Season Pass owners can't download them, yet others have a chance of getting the cars for free. Of course there is nothing stopping Season Pass owners from winning a DLC code either, but it would be cool if getting the packs a few days early was a perk of being a Season Pass owner.
