After waiting many long years Battlefield 3 has been officially announced and launched on October 25 2011 on the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. DICE BF3 Presentation at Geforce LAN 2011  The PC version has received special attention after the success of Bad Company 2 on the PC platform with the return of prone, scalable maps and is built for DirectX 11 which means Vista/Win7 only. There are no plans for mod tools at release and post-release mod tools look unlikely due to the pipeline DICE uses for Frostbite 2 (lots of middleware & apparent lack of internal resources on EA/DICE's part). Just want to mention that you should never hang around in the runway, waiting for a jet to spawn because 1. It's mine 2. It's faster to just wait in the spawn menu and spawn into the jet 3. Get out it's mine

So I'm having a problem where I can't hear any sounds local to my soldier, like engine noise, my own weapon firing, footsteps, nearby soldiers firing. It kinda just fades in and out. Is that a bug or a result of me playing this game on a dinosaur?

So yeah. i5 Intel, 8gb of ram, and an HD6870 and I'm getting crappy framerate on even medium settings, seemingly whenever water shows up or if its raining. It likes to be smooth for a while and then drop and starts chocking.

Check in the beta thread, there's some info in there that I'm too lazy to find.

tried offline SP since I cant get into BL despite the proxy trick, and I find my mouse just.. it's like it stops working for a moment when I go to look at anything new. It's absolutely tied to framerate, because it's non existant in quiet moments. Is this the stutter crap I need to roll my drivers back to 280.26 that people were talking about? Never had a problem in beta.

This game runs incredibly well on my aging X3 720 & Radeon 4870 rig. Better than Bad Company 2 ever did.

Oh god, why did I think preordering a boxed copy of the game was a good idea? Especially when it's at a game store near my home instead of closer by.

In a firefight it is like the mouse is turning in bursts. I've also got a "your account is not allowed to log in" in battlelog even after I used the proxy trick to unlock the game. Anyone solve this or am I buggered till Friday. (If you launch BF while offline it loads singleplayer, for the record)
