So, what exactly 'does' the suppressor do? Does it just remove you from the mini-map, or is there more to it? There's gotta be a reason I see all these people running around with it.

It also lowers the sound you make when firing and eliminates muzzle flash. It's stealth mode. Though it does increase bullet drop by quite a lot. Not sure if it also lowers damage. Seems like it on the bolt actions but I could be wrong.

Got the MAV and it sure is hard to control. Does not help that jump and crouch are the power buttons. I got some road kills though! Edit: HOw the hell am I getting roadkills? At first I thought to get a MAV roadkill you have to be going top speed, but I manged to kill a guy going from a dead stop about 3 feet from him to hitting him against a wall. I've hit people going top speed and it does not kill them sometimes.  This thing still owns, you get lots of people trying to shoot you down and then they get shot in the back.

I don't even play that map anymore as infantry, I either LOLAMTRAC or I MAV. Only thing better is quadra/penta kills with the Mav on metro. Robot death. Deal with it.

Man, you know what's wonderful? Watching the sniping stinkyhole who got you while you were arming an MCOM be reduced to nothing more than a grease stain by a tank shell. One second there was a sniper in the kill-cam. The next second there was an explosion and then a red stain where he was. I know it's the "guy died here" blood splatter but it was still so very gratifying. That SVD can't even annoy a tank.

So I'm going to use that fancy tweak tool someone posted a while back that lets you adjust the FOV. Could someone recommend me a good starting point FOV for a 1920x1200 resolution? BF3 measures FOV vertically, using 70 by default. 80 will be about 106 horizontal at 16:10. Also FOV is adjustable in game. What are the unlocks for the M320? I have darts and smoke so far but I'm wondering if there's any others. Battlelog says there aren't any unlocks for it.

Update on my problems with multiplayer. Apparently there was a problem with my account and its going to take 72 hours before they can resolve it. I still haven't played this dumb game after 4 days of purchasing it. Kind of pisses me off because I hate that there's no in app multiplayer browser, and I don't like how they have gunclub and battlelog and origin. They are over complicating this. Speaking of spotting, I'm really happy with the way it works in BF3. I'm killing less people since there aren't SHOOT HERE triangles everywhere, but I'm dying a whole hell of a lot less. I like that tradeoff.

I would love to use smoke grenades but would be gimping myself on the M320 too much. I wish there were smoke grenades to swap for regular throwable grenades.

Or that the actual smoke grenades were a little better. I was playing metro 64 conquest on wook wook and I figured to use the smoke to help us move forward. Shoot it into the back areas of where the other team camps so they can't sit back and shoot right? Well the smoke effect lasts about as long as it takes you to load and get another nade on target. Also if you hit walls or ceilings it appears to produce less smoke than if you hit the ground.
