Was reading the wikipedia article on the game:quote:
That seriously pissed me off. I liked the plot, I liked how the Russians were not the enemy here, heck I liked how they read my mind regarding how I'ld like a fictional US-Russia war to start; low level intelligence operation shenanigans without either side being in the "wrong".

I'm pretty sad that I cant fly jets yet I'm using a wireless controller (but I generally just leave it plugged into the USB charger thingy) and it's worked flawlessly since beta. Are you turning it on before you get into game? That's the only "issue" I've had. The Spookmaster posted:Is there some way to make BF launch in a different browser than your default? Don't launch through Origin. Make a bookmark of Battlelog in whatever browser you want to use. If you're even touching Origin at any point to play BF3, you're doing it wrong.

^^^ well then ^^^Grey Fox V2 posted:I've only heard of people using the wired one without issue so far but have you tested the wireless one in another game to make sure the dongle is working ok? Wired and Wireless Xbox controllers are regarded as completely different things for some reasons. Lots of games, even direct console ports, seem to have trouble with the Wireless Xbox controllers. There is some keymapping software out there that I think people can use, but I do not remember what it was called.

I think the first person modern warfare game should start to go away. Perhaps in favor of ancient combat? I saw this great post on Reddit http://i.imgur.com/ATdbr.jpg and it inspired me to write a blog post about the concept. http://gofortheoptics.blogspot.com/...e-of-first.html

Man, every 64 player server rubberbands like hell despite having a decent ping. The map is useless and there's indistinguishable neon glowy poo poo everyone with no indication of distance or location splattered all over the map and screen that makes it loving impossible to tell where teammates even are. Someone needs to hold DICE down and slap them until they go back to the BF2's interface, there's no excuse for the interface to be lovely. Especially given all the money they wasted on the awful SP campaign. I mean, look at the loving chat box! This is 2011 and games ten years ago had interfaces miles ahead of this poo poo. edit: I am also sick to hell of modern shooters. They dumped god knows how much money into this graphical engine and everything still looks like poo poo because there's no art style to speak of. Of course, you can't have an "art style" when you're just copying existing military poo poo, so they dump as much money as possible into painstakingly simulating boring bombed-out buildings and abandoned poo poo. There's not even any civilians or anything to make it interesting! My retarded soldier keeps getting hung up on tiny ledges too. I'm also encountering tons of obstacles I should be able to climb over but can't (ie: fence on a ledge, just grab that poo poo and climb up you moron!) What was the point of this buggy "realistic" animation system if it doesn't make movement any less video-gamey? Coach Sport fucked around with this message at Oct 25, 2011 around 19:31 |

loving idiot tank drivers that get in a tank and drive it right into the front lines. I feel like an rear end in a top hat camping for vehicles in the game, but it's better than letting the tank go to someone who'll just get killed in two nanoseconds anyway.

Maybe you guys who have issues with controllers should try Xpadder, then bind the keyboard keys you use to the controller keys with that? I used Xpadder in the past for games that didn't support controllers.

WookWook is amazing, but getting kicked sure isn't. I tried logging on to register my name for the VIP list, but I have a slight issue. It wants me to sign in using my Steam account on the web. No problem, however, I get a prompt telling me that Steam notices I'm logging in from a different computer (I'm not, doing it from home) and that they sent me a verification e-mail. The problem is that they are sending it to an e-mail address that is no longer valid. I can't change it, because it still wants verification, even when I'm already logged in to Steam. I have a support ticket in since Sunday with no response yet. Anyone else ever have this issue? I'm pretty much out of options until they respond.

Uuurrrg still cant get into battlelog and singleplayer is.. Well, single player is competent. Thing is it's kind of in a weird place where it's trying to feel realistic but also the thrillride of CoD, but the realistic stops them going all the way full crazy like CoD does, while the thrillride undermines the realism. You cant have it both ways, and the end result is kind of hollow. I quite like the acting/writing at least. It's not the worst thing ever, so far.

I think I got kicked despite being a VIP. I got "connection timed out" in the middle of a round, but the server was still up and full afterwards. I am assuming that Battlelog is too lovely to have a proper "You were kicked" message, though.

I installed, played a few matches, experienced a crash when joining a game and decided to repair the game through Origin. Big mistake, apparently. Now the game appears to be uninstalled, even though the game files are still there and when I try to install it again, the cursor changes to the "loading"-state and eventually turns normal again. I can repeat this as many times as I like. What gives? Edit: Solved it. The repair decided to rename bf3.exe into bf3.exe_DiP_STAGED. Just change it back. By increasing MSAA would it take a toll on processing power of the VGA or the VRAM? If it's VRAM I'm thinking about turning down textures so I can see people far away better. Also, is the silencer sounds working? To me the guns are still loud, do other games overdo silencers and BF3 works more like the real life counterparts?
