260, yeah. In a firefight it is like the mouse is turning in bursts.

I've also got a "your account is not allowed to log in" in battlelog even after I used the proxy trick to unlock the game. Anyone solve this or am I buggered till Friday. (If you launch BF while offline it loads singleplayer, for the record)

FWIW I have a 260 and have had no mouse troubles using the beta drivers.

I'm probably in the minority here but the only map I really enjoy is Caspian Border. Vehicles are what really make BF games so great and it's the only map where they really shine and have a wide variety.

And to everyone complaining about being shot by mystery infantry that they never see, I'm having that issue too and I'm what I would consider "pretty good" at BF games and have been playing them for years. There's just so much visual clutter in this game that it's impossible to see the contrast between the environment and enemies.

Oh sweet, Origin has pop-up ads now! With no option to turn them off! That pop back up 20 seconds after I just closed it!

It was for Crysis on Origin so no, it wasn't ad/spyware.

I feel like there should be a separate thread for technical issues/questions. 90% of this thread is people discussing problems instead of the actual game.

How do I use thermal optics in vehicles? I don't see a key bind option for it.

So I am debating buying this game but I have heard a ton of Origin horror stories. Is it really that bad?

By horror stories I mean people being locked out of their account, getting charged multiple times, not receiving games they've paid for, etc. and horrible customer service that is basically completely unhelpful.

It doesn't really seem worse than any other platform. There will be people with problems but I doubt it effects more than 1% of the players.

e: *wow* I just got the reset password email and where it says "click the url to reset password" there isn't even a URL. It's just a bunch of alphanumerical nonsense with a line underneath it like it's supposed to be a URL.

Click the forgot password link on the origin login and click "already got the email". The code goes there. The email instructions should say that.

I don't play much BF3 but just quit in frustration after an hour or so. Mobile AA is useless now, jets are unkillable and surprise sex the skies and ground, and I don't know if this is new but I got one-hit-hilled in a tank by a helicopter, which seems beyond retarded.

gently caress fast vehicle respawn servers. Really. Why do so many servers have that?

Because a lot of people play BF3 for the vehicles. If they wanted foot combat they'd go play Modern Warfare. Sitting around waiting for your tank to respawn is boring.

Missiles really need to be fixed but if there's one thing we can keep I hope its gun damage vs. infantry. The rockets should go back to how they were but I definitely don't miss trying to gun little dudes down and they survive all the hits.

Dude gently caress that. Jets don't need to be directly killing infantry, that's ultimate weak sauce. There's gently caress-all infantry (or anyone at this point) can do against jets, it's completely unbalanced that they can kill infantry with zero threat or capable action against them.

Is there a list of guns we probably shouldn't use because they're underpowered, or is it fairly balanced to the point I can play with whatever is the most fun?

People bitch about the M26 MASS all the time, is it because it's OP? It doesn't seem like it to me.

Thanks for the info.

It looks like the FAMAS has the lowest time-to-kill statistic. Is that a good stat to determine how powerful a gun is?

What causes such huge team disparities sometimes? There can be a thousand ticket metro map and one team continuously stomps the other, pushing them back to their spawn and spawn camping and winning with like 800 tickets to spare. It's really loving lame when you're on the losing team.

Why doesn't the M26 slug attach to the gun when using underslung rail?

There some underslung/gun combos that just don't work, I think the reason given was that "in real life it wouldn't fit because it's too big" though I know there's at least combo that works in real life that doesn't in BF3.

Is anyone using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick with BF3? I'd like to go gently caress around on an air server and learn to fly helis, but I remember my experience a while ago was pretty hit or miss. Can you describe your experience and possibly how you have it set up? i.e. What button bound to what?

I've used one since BF2 came out and it rocks. It's also very durable. Twisting the grip does rudders/heli raw, trigger for firing whatever, thumb buttons below POV hat for switching weapons, thumb buttons beside POV hat for flares or whatever else, and buttons by the throttle for whatever bullshit you want to assign.

I will say, though, that it (and perhaps joysticks in general) sort of suck for trying to hit far away stuff in jets using the chain gun. You can't really be that accurate with it.

edit: also, I think this is just an issue with BF3, but there's no throttle level for hovering. There's a spot that will make you fall ever so slightly, and then a millimeter above that is making you ascend slightly. Still works well enough though, and realistically you're never having to hover perfectly still often if ever.

edit2: also annoying is that you seemingly can't have flight controls inverted for your joystick while non-inverted with the mouse. You'd have to go into options and switch it every time.

I've surprisingly only seen a few likely-to-be-hackers. My criteria is their 100-2 K/D ratio when the next highest person has like 30-11 and their seemingly inhuman reaction time and aiming abilities (popping around corners and instantly getting headshots on a couple people).

I apologize since I don't read or play much BF3, but apparently now I have to buy premium if I want to play on servers labeled as premium? Why would servers opt in to having that distinction if it lowers the number of people who can play there?
