Just finished the campaign. It wasn't the most memorable, but it wasn't bad either. Probably on par with the past few Call of Dutys. The jet level was the best part of the whole thing and I wish there had been another one. Maybe one where you actually get to fly the jet instead of just being placed in the gunner seat ![]() Anyway, I'm glad I ran through it. From tomorrow on, it's all multiplayer, baby!

The Spookmaster posted:Yes it's a continual problem with the 560ti. The fix that worked for me was down clocking my core clock from default 900 to 850 I asked over in SH/SC too and apparently it's my power supply that's causing it to artifact. I'm picking up a new power supply in the morning since I've been meaning to for a while anyway, so I'll post in here when I get it installed to let y'all know if that fixed the issue.

Besides my stupid artifacting issue, the multiplayer is just absolutely immense. The maps are loving enormous and almost overwhelming. I think it'll take me a long time to learn all the ones that aren't Metro/Caspian Border. But I was playing with my cousin earlier, I forgot what map it was, but it was 64p Conquest. He flew the chopper while I played gunner. We were up in the air for a solid like 10 minutes, just destroying every loving vehicle we could see. Our team ended up losing the match because our teammates lost the ground war despite no armor being present, but it was still a hell of a lot of fun. Moments like those are what makes these games so incredible to me. And so far everything I've seen looks like it'll blow Battlefield 2's moments away for me in pretty much every way possible. Also, when we were up in the chopper, an enemy jet was flying towards us to shoot us down and it loving crashed into the radio tower and blew up. We couldn't stop laughing.

Metro Conquest, when starting from the opposite side of the map from the beta, is surprisingly fun. I had more fun in like two rounds of that than I did the entirety of Metro Rush in the beta. So pretty much all of the beta except the day or two when Caspian Border was unlocked.

Sergeant Steiner posted:That sucks that you are having so many issues with artifacting. I have a 560 Ti as well (MSI Hawk, 950 MHz stock but I overclocked it to 1050 Mhz) and I thought I had dodged a bullet with the artifacting, but today it happened to me on 2 different maps, and holy gently caress is it annoying. It hasn't happened to me again after 3 hours of online play, but sweet Jesus did it ever make the game unplayable. Every time I would enter ADS, gigantic black polygons would obscure my view, and they'd move and distort as I'd move around. On top of that, I'd get green flashes on half of my screen. Hopefully nVidia or DICE release something to fix it soon, because my game runs incredibly well otherwise, I can have everything on Ultra except MSAA and it runs ridiculously smooth at 1080p. Yeah, everything else about the game is gorgeous except for that, and it runs incredibly well at Ultra @ 1080p for me too. And it doesn't even happen on some maps. It seems like it's only present on maps with a lot of sunlight. Like, Tehran Highway is completely immune from it. But maps with lots of sunlight are annoying as hell to play because I can't spot enemies a lot of times since a giant black polygon is blocking my view.

If you spent a little less than $250 to replace the video card, it'd be more than playable on Ultra settings, everything maxed out at 1080p. And I doubt that processor would bottleneck too much.

I've never tried playing the retail (or the beta) with any setting besides War Tapes. It just sounds so loving good that I'd never want to change it. Though you might develop slight PTSD after playing with that setting on for a while, so just take note of that if you have a weak stomach or whatever. I think it's loving awesome that you can use attachments you unlock mid-match literally the next time you spawn in that same match. Like, I just unlocked a red dot sight for my AK and then died. Am I the only one who's been playing on the Fast Rank Infantry server and having a ton of fun with it? Caspian Border is such a terrible loving map for Team Deathmatch. Ugh, I swear I'll play Conquest mode after I finish getting my level up / poo poo unlocked for my weapons of choice. I've been playing a lot on this server [HOG] FAST RANK, and it's been solely 64p TDM on Bazaar, Canals and Seine lately. I don't know if you've played 64p TDM on Bazaar, but it's loving insane. It's more or less "Meat Grinder: The Server". Play Assault or Support on there and you rank up (your classes at least) much faster than you do on most other servers. Even Conquest, I think. I played a few rounds of Conquest Large a couple days after I got the game, and while I had a blast, I didn't feel like I was leveling up as fast as I'd like to be. Now, once I get every single assault rifle / machine gun and all mods for each unlocked, I'll probably quit TDM and go back to Conquest.
