Anyone with an IRNV scope mind posting how it looks now? I read that the dot is now actually visible.

No screenshots since battlelog's down for updating but it's much better. Simple fog and smoke no longer makes your entire view green, the dot is visible compared to what used to be but can still be hard to see - but it makes some sense.

870 with Slugs feels very nerfed though, but up close = instagib time. I went through five kills in five seconds when flanking a sniper roof.

I used to be in love with the IRNV, even during daylight, cause it's like legit wallhack. The near-invisible dot and the lack of being able to properly see through smoke were my major gripes.

Guess I'll have to unlock it for SCAR!

Also, is there anyone with Nvidia 5** cards that used the Beta nvidia drivers during, well, Beta, and has upgraded since? Right now I'm still using beta drivers and that seems to work flawlessly, but I wonder if there's a possible performance boost to be had. I'm reluctant to, cause I don't wanna fix what isn't broken.

Same here. So your stats are only saved at the end of a round, correct? Doesn't BC2 save unlocks and stuff like that immediately, so if you leave a round early, you still have all the kills, etc from that round?

Sometimes, presumably at deploys, It'll save your current xp/stats/whatever. Keep an eye on the bottom right when you try to deploy (and sometimes it will be actively blocking you from deploying even though 'DEPLOY' is right there and you're losing a point, but hey it's saving!)

Man the javelin is REALLY disappointing. I mean, like, no reason to carry it at all disappointing. Too long of lock, too little damage (50% will 1 hit incapacitate), and you can't even blind fire you HAVE to lock 1st which consider the time will almost always get you killed. Plus you can still be counter by IR flares/smoke on vehicles. Considering you can carry 10 rpgs with the explosive upgrade and only 3 javelins the choice is simple. Also, there's apparently a range limit which is kind of ridiculous considering this is a long range weapon. On caspian I was maybe 350-400m away from a a spotted tank and couldn't lock. If it was something you could pretty much snipe tanks from across the map then it may be worth it but it really needs a boost. Less locking time and a bit more damage on impact probably boost the range too.

Well that's...disappointing. I was really looking forward to unlocking the jav as a more powerful RPG. So basically the advantage is you don't have to 'arc' it with all the disadvantages of not being able to dumbfire/peek-fire/less ammo.

Yeah, mortars are either really useless or god drat terrifying. I played a round of Bazaar where I was managing to nail people left and right with it. I don't remember what goon it was, but I think I ended up getting a head shot off of him with it at something like 4 meters. Just the potential for random destruction of them is why I like them so much. Wish I could turn them sideways and use them like a rocket launcher, though.

64P Conquest on Seine with at least a quarter of your team being supports with mortars is hilarious.

Spotting doesn't seem to last more than a couple of seconds - it's gone a lot faster than it was in BC. I don't know if it's because the target is obscured and you lose the icon or it's just on a super short timer now.

Your spot icon only remains as ling as you have LoS on the target you spotted. So if you spot a dude running for cover, your spot icon disappears as soon as he's behind cover and you don't have a visual anymore.

Obviously this does not work for bushes and shrubs.

I'm also not sure if vehicles obey the same rules, because I could swear I've seen jeep/tank spot icons through walls.

Is it true that weapons on the american side and russian side level up separately?

Some weapons (Like the starter rifles M4/AK47 or MK11MOD0/SVD) are side-restricted and level up seperately, while some are only class specific (SCAR-H,M249) or unlock-specific (PDW Weapons like the UMP/PP2K) which can be used on all classes on all sides and level up at the same time.

It's not in the web interface, it's ingame. Spawn screen -> loadout

I haven't looked at it yet, but isn't it just damage being measured? You also have to take into account firing rate, clip size, sights, etc

It has a smaller clip and 100RPM less than, say, the G36C. Sights don't really come into gun balancing once you get past 10 kills with it. I've been trying to like the SG553, but it just feels like a neutered SCAR. It's got a bigger clip and shoots faster, but you need more rounds on target to actually kill someone.

That video pretty much is proof that javelins are utterly useless. Rear damage doesn't do more damage than front, even a front shot does the same as an RPG, takes time to lock on/can be avoided, less ammo, AND you can't dumbfire it to clear out a building or shoot just the part of the tank that's sticking out.
