I think it's natural for the kid to be annoying to us bitter, old goons. I have a feeling if I was 8 I'd be wondering why it's taken so long for the adults to start believing him. This show just hits all the right notes with me.

I love the short 'do, too, although Mz. Goodwin does seem to have rather prominent ears. I think it's adorable, but I can see how someone wouldn't. Also, I tried to like Grimm, but it just feels like a lovely X-Files/Supernatural clone. The only remotely interesting thing about it is Haywire from Prison Break. I'm really amazed it's on NBC and not SyFy.

I feel the opposite way, I'm enjoying Grimm WAY more than Once Upon a Time. What I really like about Grimm is they're making fast forward progress on knowledge of the world with characters that seem to actually grow and become more interesting. Once Upon a Time just feels like it drags taking forever for any significant progress or reveal. Henry stated early that no one remembers how they got there / their past is fuzzy. Why the main chick hasn't tested this claim is beyond me. At the very least to gently show Henry what he believes doesn't jive with the evidence. Also I'm not buying that their current world is such as hell, it looks liked for a most of the inhabitants life got different, not worse. The queen seems much less tortured then she did in the fairy world.

This has had three episodes and Grimm has had two, how the hell can you tell if a show is "making fast forward progress on knowledge" after two bloody episodes? Seriously, there's nothing we know after the second episode of Grimm that we didn't know after the first.

That there are other Grimms, but they don't socialize. 2.) He has accepted who he is and his duties to stop the bad ones while recognizing and trusting the good ones as needed. 3.) The Aunt got killed off and revealed that no one else knows about the van and to hide it. 4.) There are humans working with super naturals for some nefarious purpose. 5.) Wolves are super strong and can rip your arms off, so don't gently caress with them. I'm counting the trailer for the third episode, which has a bunch of reveals. Including direct interaction with the chick that tried to inject his Aunt with the toxin from the first episode who for some reason he's assigned to protect in the third episode. In Once Upon a Time every one is still in the dark while we watch cheesy flashbacks. scarymonkey fucked around with this message at Nov 9, 2011 around 17:50 |

I think there is a pretty big disconnect on the show between Mary Margaret's character and that of Snow White. SW is bold and takes risks, MM is a meek little mouse who paid for dinner while on a date with someone who ogled the waitress. If the writers are doing that on purpose I hope they reveal their reasons. Of course, Emma's personality is much more in line with Snow White's and she is the only one who wasn't effected by the Curse. So SW turning into a church mouse could just be part of her curse. Edit: that's a lot of spoilers about Grimm for a post that's not in the Grimm thread.

Oh sure they've sexed up little red riding hood for the show but I sure hope they aren't going to be morons and then have her get pounced on by the big bad wolf. "Just look at her! How could you not attack that?" Hooray, tv writers regress to 50's era notions of victim-blaming. Happily, that hasn't happened yet but who knows how they are going to treat her character. Neosuki posted:Oh and I too loved the "gently caress Yo Apple Tree, Bitch!" scene. It changed the dynamic of the Emma character in my mind. Yeah, sure she was tough, but after Henry showed up, she had the Deer in Headlights look to her. I was worried she was going to be Dr Cameron with a kid. This was easily my favorite moment of the first three episodes, just for the cavalier, "That's right, BITCH! I cut yer fuckin' tree! Whatcha gonna do about THAT?!" attitude while she did it.

Things like this are what gives me hope for the show. They clearly have long-term plot plans that are hinted at in each episode. Also, the fairy tale land is getting more interesting. The pilot was extremely cheesy and had no surprises. However, the most decent fairy tale land story with snow white was pretty good.

Part of the reason why I'm liking this show a lot better than Grimm is because OUaT has that air of magic and an entirely separate realm going on. Grimm is also not hitting the right notes with their comedic wolf character (at least not for me).
