I will note that nothing on the road system could possibly be profitable because it's been so picked over since the gold rush.

Not to mention, the keep talking about potentially finding what, 200-300 thousand dollars? Minus operating costs, minus the payment to the claim owner, and split 6-7 ways, that's maybe 20k a person? Seems like a ton of effort and a lot of risk for pay that's below the poverty line.

Serious back/spine pain is excruciating, the pain is one thing (which is horrible) but you can't sleep well, loss of appetite, and the crippling depression of being around able bodied men gets in your head. Roll your eyes all you want, I've heard of a guy who heard the chopper report a bear about 2km away, so he decided to spray himself in the face with the bear repellent.

He had to get evacced by the chopper.

A few hours later he came back and, in his eagerness to make up for his absence, jumped into a stream that no one else could be hosed to deal with. It apparently re-activated the spray because he nearly drowned and had to be evacced again.

Yeah they don't explain it really well but when you run any diesel and especially one that big out of fuel it's really bad news. Not only is it hard to get running again but injection pumps , filtering systems and high psi diesel injectors are cooled and lubricated by the fuel. When you run out it puts air and trash into these systems and you have just set s shorter life to these parts. Plus If they're running them dry that often the maintenance has to be lacking. And on top of that you don't give your dad poo poo about helping you fix it. O well he's a kid he will learn.
