Fantastic LP so far. All I can really criticize is that you haven't posted all of the updates yet.

I've been thinking, I really like the fact that no one has died yet. It means that the characters are more realistic as a whole, not freaking out the second they are put into the situation and that those that are inclined to murder and are considering it are more intelligent and scheming than usual also.

I like my realistic characters in extremely unrealistic settings.

Aren't we not even at the end of chapter one?

I have a feeling the person Sakura has never been able to defeat is her father.

Well, subverting: it could be her mother, it could be a fictional character, or it could even be that the reason she can't defeat her father is that he's either very sick/weak or even dead

I disagree with this. It's been pointed out, multiple times, that you can always replay the social interactions and what coins/gifts/skills you have are saved per game not per spot in the game. They could take some one you need 15 interactions with to get a skill and kill them off right now. You just need to play through the first free time 15 times to get it.

This is a very good point.

I want to say the Heir did it, but that's completely based on mood and attitude.

And really, it sucks that this hasn't been localized because I want to go out and play it for myself.

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS: (spoilered because I think I'm spot-on with the progression and think other people might want to piece things together themselves)

Idol led <unknown person> into the room, probably under the pretense of wanting protection or something. She then attacked, leading to the struggle. <Unknown person> ran into the bathroom, hoping to hide for a bit (possibly thinking that it was a girl's room and could lock), but Idol was able to open it. In the last struggle, Idol lost the knife (or even got stabbed by the prop sword) and died.

<Unknown person> then panicked but realized that their only chance of getting out was to get away with the killing (even if it was accidental/self defense), so they cleaned up and escaped.

Now, they left the door open when they left, so unfortunately it won't be a Locked Room Mystery (as much as I love those). I do think that a major point of the trial-battle will be when whoever it is thinks it was a lockable door when it actually wasn't. That, or the sticking door might just be a massive, obvious red herring.

Also, orenronen: you seem to have forgotten to post the next update already! How could you have left us hanging like that?

I'll say this again: when I first played it, this game had cases where I didn't know who the killer was until the actual trial reveal (and then it all made perfect sense in retrospect), and cases where I knew who the killer was way ahead of the characters. I'm not telling which is which.

Hm.

So, changing my perspective from Phoenix Wright to Detective Conan, is there any message that image could have been changed from to implicate Leon?

In attempt to get away from the recent discussions...

So I've been playing around with this the last few days and finally got something that works and doesn't crash:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UZe-8LZEd8

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68kSdVj6KE4

Now, this is obviously far from perfect. I have no real way to tell how long a line can be and it kind of breaks on 3+ lines in a box, ideally we'd have a smaller font and a default 3 or more lines per box and could add more textboxes than the ones allocated for the original Japanese, but it's at least something as I can insert text of arbitrary length regardless of the original length. Plus, I haven't even looked at what I assume is the actual hard stuff, the courtroom minigames, nor at any kind of images/textures that would need to be translated. But it's a start!

Also, I'm surprised orenronen didn't show off the way areas "pop" into existence, it looks pretty neat.

Oh wow, nice! Are you planning to mess around more with it to try to get it in full, or are you just seeing what you can do for fun?
