Firstly I apologize if this is inappropriate to the forum. I have tried getting help in the thread but everyone wants to talk about how awesome the game is because these technical issues do not seem to be affecting everyone. Also it is just hard to keep up with that thread! Anyhow, I know there are a few of us out there with some serious stuttering or low fps issues trying to play the saints. Personally I have a 6970, an i7 @ 3.5, and 8 gigs of ram yet on the lowest settings I only sit around 30 fps. If I drop down to directx 9 I get bumped up to about 40 fps. Regardless this is incredibly unacceptable. So has there been any word of a patch to fix performance? Has ati/amd released any new drivers yet? I have looked into both of these solutions and as of right now there appears to be nothing to help those of us who performance is in the toilet. So if you have bad performance, post your specs here. If you have fixes for performance, post your fixes here. Potential fixes (YMMV)![]() General Tweaks to improve performance http://segmentnext.com/2011/11/15/s...formance-fixes/ ![]() -Run it in directX 9. AMD/ATI/RADEON fixes -Update from to current driver (11.11), it was released today (11/15/11). (NOTE: this did absolutely NOTHING for me but some users see a performance increase) Senator Woofington fucked around with this message at Nov 17, 2011 around 08:56 |

I've got a HD 5850 on Windows 7 and the latest drivers downloaded today. Dropping down to DX9 just about doubles my frame rate in most places on the exact same setting. Low settings on DX11, I get 15-17 fps. Same settings on DX9 gives me 30-35 and going higher in places. So it's quite playable as long as I stick to DX9.

The problem I am having as mentioned before is that ever minute or so, I get a screen freeze that last 2 - 3 seconds then the game continues, the sound doesn't freeze during this, just the display. I've tried just about everything I can think of. Drivers minimum settings multiple different combinations of settings lower resolution verify integrity Nothing seems to effect it. When its not freezing, it runs on absolute maximum settings flawlessly. specs: i7 975 quad 3.33 GTX 480 12GB DDR3 6TB HDD space

For me I get amazing performance in a building but as soon as I go outside it tanks, no matter if I change the resolution or graphical settings. PC: Windows 7 64 Bit i5 760 @ 3.1ghz 6850 HD 4 gigs of ram Something is very wrong with the port. A lot of fellow Radeon HD 6xxx owners are also reporting similiar problems. Here's to hoping it'll get fixed. Methodis fucked around with this message at Nov 15, 2011 around 22:10 |

It's really frustrating that everyone on the official forums thinks it's specifically related to ATI when I have the exact same issues. For me the game also hitches when turning outside, which even causes the audio to stutter. It does make for some pretty funny remixes of the songs though! I know my CPU is a bit underwhelming but every other game I play works great at the highest setting so I haven't found a need to replace it. Even this game works awesome until I get into a car.

I'm having a problem where my screen goes black, the sound continues as normal, then it may or may not just start looping after that and require a restart. Something similar happened twice in BF3 over like 20 hours of play then never happened again, it didn't happen at all over almost 50 hours in Skyrim or in any other game at all, but its happened twice in my 2 hours of Saints Row: The Third. Is this a software issue or do I need to do something with my hardware configuration? e: GPU drivers are up to date, I have a 560 Ti and I installed the drivers that came out with BF3 and that's the last one I saw available when I checked last night. e2: Got a Phenom II X4 940, 8 GB of RAM, and a regular old 750GB 6gb/s SATA drive if any of that matters. My GTX 560 hits up to 70°Cish on ultra settings which it selected by default. I think my GPU overheated playing on DX11 just now but I played for about 7 hours earlier on DX9 just fine.

Just noticed this thread, better to ask here than the general discussion: I'm still having this weird issue where I am unable to log in to the community site. The game says that my Steam account is linked to a THQ account, however the THQ account was deleted a while ago. It gets even stranger when I found out I can log in on the THQ main site, but not the SR 3 site. Is there a way to de-link accounts, or is that being worked on? I would ask in the troubleshooting forums, but I obviously can't log in there.

Not quite sure where to ask this, but this seems like the most appropriate place. Is SR3 worth picking up via Steam? Is like SR2 for PC (aka lovely)? People with the exact same hardware are saying that their game both runs and doesn't, so nothing really points to an exact cause yet. At first, I couldn't change any options without the game crashing. So I made some changes. Game_launcher.exe, and the 2 game executables, I made them disable desktop composition, and what the gently caress, set them run as admin. Also, in the display.ini file, I changed the default -1 to 5. Now I can gently caress with the changes all I want. No clue what change was the one that did the trick. Don't right care either. I got to get to some good deeds.
