OK, this is a little weird, but I'm getting sound issues on the PC version with the radio stations on my Logitech G35 headset. It sounds like the radio music is panned to be like 85% out of my right headphone. Even weirder, the audio in the left headphone sounds like it's glitching. The volume is set low enough that when I'm wearing both its hardly noticible. It's not the headset itself, I'm pretty sure, because sound effects, speech, and generally every other area of audio (not to mention other games) sound fine out of the left headphone, but the radio stations are just screwed.

Is it just my computer, or are the pauses in conversations a little too long? Sometimes a back and forth between Pierce and the Boss will have a several second pause between each line, long enough to seem like there's a technical issue with the audio.

Add a general stuttering feeling to everything and it really sours the experience. I can live with the camera generally being way too zoomed-in and the ridiculously tiny FOV (I'm hoping for mods to fix those two), but the stuttering and poor performance really suck. At least it doesn't crash, I guess. But I'd really like to boost performance somehow.

This seems to be more of a Steam problem than SR3 one, but... I keep getting corrupted files. I preloaded and the game unlocked, and then the integrity-check made me re-download 8 out of 9gb. Rechecked, downloaded 6 out of 9 gb. Rechecked, downloaded 4 out of 9 gb. Rechecked, downloaded 82.7mb. Rechecked, downloaded same 82.7mb. Rechecked, downloaded same 82.7mb. Said 'gently caress it' and deleted the entire SR3 folder and just downloaded post-launch so I wouldn't have to deal with decrypting loving up. Now when I check it, I get one bad file, but the game seems to play fine. So what's the deal? Anyone else getting this?

My copy of SR3 just crashes on startup. Drivers are the newest, verified local cache, etc, doesn't seem like a common issue, only one forums thread suggested that the problem may be steam being installed to something other then the C drive. I'll give THQ support a chance to resolve it, otherwise I'm asking for a refund.

I'm trying to play with a 360 controller, but the controls are mirrored. The left and right analog sticks are swapped, and the XABY buttons are all mixed up. I had this in the Initiation Station but it started working when I restarted the program - no luck with the full game. Anyone else have this?

Welp, I didn't listen and now I'm being hosed again. Game always freezes at the same time. About three seconds after I gain control during the first level at the bank. The music still plays, and I can't even end the process through CTRL+ALT+DLT. Running it via DX9, medium settings. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here's my steam thread if you want more info... http://forums.steampowered.com/foru...d.php?t=2235416 e: Turned all settings to low, 1280x720 windowed. It's working now. I kept crashing over and over on the Guardian Angel mission. Switched to DX9 and it worked fine, although quite a bit uglier. I have a mega-beast of a machine. i7-X980, GTX 570, latest drivers. Sucks I have to play it in DX9 though.

Does it count as a technical issue that I really hate the new control scheme on the 360 and wish it were more like SR2?

I haven't run into any of the technical issues discussed just yet, but I've only played about 3-4 hours and done a couple of missions and diversions (7% completion). Here's my setup, which I consider to be "high end": Intel i7-2600K Radeon HD 6950 2GB (updated drivers to latest on Tuesday) 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB SSD (didn't install any new firmware so I don't have 2.15) Using DirectX 11 at 1920 x 1080 fullscreen with all visual settings at maximum (which I manually set because the auto-detect put things at the "High" preset), the game runs "well." (With this hardware setup, it had better.) I don't know if it's possible to display your framerate in-game but I estimate that it's about 40-50 frames per second. (Note: I am bad at evaluating this at a glance.) I don't seem to have any problems with dialogue stuttering, though I have noticed with the subtitles on that the lines sometimes appear before they're spoken. I think this is a subtitle timing thing more than a performance one though. I also entered in my preorder DLC serials as the game was downloading. So far I've seen the Nyte Blade and Professor Genki things firsthand, so that didn't seem to affect my install. I encountered no problems plugging in the Xbox 360 controller during game and switching back and forth between mouse/keyboard and controller. Buzkashi posted:Does it count as a technical issue that I really hate the new control scheme on the 360 and wish it were more like SR2? They don't seem to let you drive and shoot anymore.

I rushed home from work to pick up the game and was super psyched to dick around for an hour or so before I had a dinner date, then came back home, looked at my 360 and was like "I think I'd rather play Skyrim right now." It made me sad to come to that conclusion because I have been giddy as a loving schoolgirl for SR3 to come out for months.

Not sure if this is a technical issue or not, but one the second (?) mission which is basically "buy a gun" I failed because Shaundi somehow got killed while I was in the gun selection screen. No idea what happened, one minute I'm looking at guns I can't afford, the next it says mission failed.

I don't know what's going on. When the game released, I played for three or four hours at a time. Now, I can't go anywhere or the game will crash, usually in under ten minutes so I can't complete any missions or activities. Plus when it crashes it usually leaves my video in a bad state, so I have to reboot. As a test I just started the game and left it sitting. After over an hour it was fine, but when I started doing stuff again it soon crashed. I updated my drivers. I tried verifying cache but I only got the same 82.7MB download it seems everyone gets. I tried deleting the ncf files and redownloading. I tried logging into the community site because that has helped some people. Nothing helped. My system is enough of an outlier (WinXP, GTS 250, has an issue where it seems to hang for a second every so often in just about any game) that it's quite possibly a problem on my end, but since all that stuff was true before, during, and after my long initial play sessions, I don't see what happened to break things, unless it was the play sessions themselves. But since I have vsync forced on and a SpeedFan alert that goes off if my GPU temp gets to 80C, that doesn't seem likely. I think I'm just SOL until a reformat at the least or possibly a new system.

Has anyone else noticed (what probably amounts to) netcode issues in co-op? I was playing with another goon last night, and we both had a pretty decent ping of about 50 ms. There wasn't really any lag on foot or with NPCs just walking around, but it seemed like whenever one player would start moving relatively quickly in a car, they would warp all over the place from the other player's point of view. This happened with either person hosting and we both have pretty decent systems.

Is anyone running SR3 off an SSD? I just got some new hardware and decided to try loading the game from an SSD (using SteamTool Library Manager), but I started getting some weird bugs. The music would stop playing for a while and menus would become unresponsive. One time my car even froze mid-nitro. After I moved the game back to the original HDD everything was alright again. Here's my specs: - ASUS GeForce GTX 570 - 8GB DDR3 RAM - Intel Core i5-2500 - and the Crucial M4 SSD

If anyone's been getting crashes on a quad core system try Alt Tabbing and switching SR3's processor affinity to the first two cores only. Disabling the third and fourth core hit my performance a little but crashes stopped completely.

I get the bad file too (every time) but it doesn't seem to be causing any problems.Chief Savage Man posted:I'm having a problem where my screen goes black, the sound continues as normal, then it may or may not just start looping after that and require a restart. Something similar happened twice in BF3 over like 20 hours of play then never happened again, it didn't happen at all over almost 50 hours in Skyrim or in any other game at all, but its happened twice in my 2 hours of Saints Row: The Third. Is this a software issue or do I need to do something with my hardware configuration? Dragging this back up, but I had a similar problem and I found it went away by setting the game to windowed mode. I'm not using dx11 though.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or how the game actually is, but my radio stations have giant gaps between songs/announcers. Surely it's not meant to be that way? Is there any fix for this (if it is actually a technical problem)? I also had another problem which I posted in the general thread, but haven't retried the mission to see if it happens again: On 'The Belgian Problem' part of a final cutscene seems to skip entirely, leaving me dead because I'm not given control of my character in time to respond to the events.

I had tried running in a window, which didn't help. But I'd only tried it after fullscreen had crashed, probably leaving my graphics card in a bad state. Running in a window after a reboot seems to have fixed it (although I also turned off forced vsync and switched my nVidia control panel settings from multiple display performance mode to single display performance mode). Whatever. I'm capping fools!

So I managed to fix my problem and I am so thankful because this game is awesome. If anyone has my problem, with the game constantly going back to the title screen when starting a new game, verify files through steam by right clicking on the game in your library and clicking on verify game files. If you are having my problem, the game will re-download, in a way. It won't take nearly as long though.
