I've had an arrow stuck in my shoulder for the past hour. Is it a glitch? How do I get it out?

Ervin K posted:I've had an arrow stuck in my shoulder for the past hour. Is it a glitch? How do I get it out? This is a common visual bug. The FAQ suggests letting the next archer you run into shoot you a bunch while using potions or magic to heal yourself, presumably so that the "bad arrow" is replaced by a normal one and then will go away on its own the way they're supposed to. If you're playing the PC version, you can also use the sexchange console command twice to basically reload/reset your model I think.

Yesterday I literally experienced the bear golfing in the OP .gif in reverse. A giant was fighting a cave bear and the bear gave him such a smack that the giant's body went one way, but his club flew into orbit. That being said, besides some graphical glitching when using stealth in some dungeons with shallow puddles of water, this game has been remarkably bug-free. Such a huge, detailed world and not a single crash or game-breaking bug in 30-40 hours. pigdog fucked around with this message at Nov 16, 2011 around 07:57 |

I remember I was messing with a random Mammoth who just kept on roaring at me. I did it for two minutes about and all of a sudden the Mammoth is launched 10 feet into the air where I was standing. In my haste I thought to myself "Oh gently caress!" and by accident roared and the mammoth died right when it landed. That is the one big glitch I've had so far. Unless Mammoth jumping is a mechanic in Skyrim.

J-Spot posted:Has anyone played the PS3 version long enough to see if the game starts making GBS threads itself when the save file gets big? I've been pretty happy with the performance so far, but now that I'm up to 4MB or so I've noticed the occasional hiccup when an area loads. I'm not very far in yet but I may be having the same issue. I've noticed save files are taking longer and longer to load and last night I had two hard crashes and at least two 3+ minute long loads over the course of a few hours. My PS3 was getting somewhat hot but not enough that I think it would make any difference.

Not sure if anyone else has got this, but after killing the dragon near Whiterun in the main quest, anytime I go back to the watchtower another dragon appears. I've done it three times without fail.

I'm not sure if I should call this a bug, but anyway. I was in some town or other when I see the Jarl shout at some citizens. I decide this guy is an rear end in a top hat and deserves to die. There's three people in the hall: the Jarl, his bodyguard and a servant cleaning the floor. So first, I climb up to a balcony, sneak, and shoot him in the head. It doesn't quite kill him, so they all run around the bottom floor a while before concluding "It's probably my imagination". I also see his HP bar is full again. So this time, I shoot twice, killing him. Same commotion occurs, bodyguard ironically shouts "Won't somebody do anything!" My companion also engages in some fighting downstairs. I wait until the commotion stops behind a door. Jarl's back on his throne, bodyguard is next to it, servant is still sweeping the floor. They don't seem to mind my companion despite trying to kill her recently. I conclude the Jarls can't be killed, and decide to kill his guard in revenge. I sneak behind the throne and backstab the guard, who goes down immediately. The Jarl almost doesn't notice anything "Did you hear something" but then wisens up and looks behind him. He goes down easily enough too. After panting on the floor for a minute or so, he ignores me and goes to sit on his throne again. While this all was going on, the servant never once looked up from his floor-sweeping. Annoyingly, Mr. Guard is back up again too. I talk to them. Jarl seemingly decides that maybe if he doesn't mention the attempted murder, I won't try it again and says something about it being a bad time to visit. Bodyguard says something similarly inconsequential. So neither of them can be killed, but they don't seem to mind me trying it much either. So I'll at least have killed something here, I hide behind a pillar and shoot the servant. The guard runs out of the hall screaming "Murder!". Jarl is still nonplussed. I notice a familiar form on the upstairs balcony. If it isn't the guard, who has teleported there, and is now standing in the doorway. He doesn't move, and talking to him he only says "Leave me" Radiant AI in action, folks!

Sadly I didn't screenshot it but I did manage to get the horse to walk up any surface no matter how steep, it was kinda like driving the Mako from the first Mass Effect. After I reached a pretty high point somewhere and got off to look around, the horse glitches out. It flew away from me out through the air in an instant, but then I lost it, assuming it disappeared. I marveled at the adventure I had just taken for a moment then looked down in the water and noticed the horse swimming to some unknown destination.

Maybe it carried over with reused code into the new engine.. save file bloat to the point where the save file becomes basically "corrupt" and crashes on load. Was present in Oblivion and both fallouts, though New Vegas to a far lesser extent and mostly occurring due to build up of goo and ash piles resulting from melting people with lasers

You can't kill people significant to major quests. I accidentally killed Esbern once, but he got up and didn't seem to mind.

The game engine they are on is the exact same one they've been using since Oblivion. It's got changes, sure, but they are small incremental changes. Todd Howard claimed they completely rewrote the game engine and it's a blatant lie. That's why people are seeing the same problems as from previous games.

Could either be fault of the game being horrible for older systems, or a very weird glitch involving your system's sound quality. I did the following as per suggestion of the megathread's OP: 1.Open up control panel and go to sound. 2.Right click on your current sound output device (green checkmark denotes it) and select properties. 3.Go over to the 'advanced tab' and in the pull-down menu that lets you select sound quality, select 24-bit 44100Hz. Game was mysteriously crashing on my system within an hour or two of continuous play before this. Now that's all fixed and I play until the bizarre paper trees begin showing up. ![]() Ulfric actually was captured by the Imperial Legion because he was challenging the emperor in his sitting techniques. ![]() This is the corpse of a dragon I had killed in Winterhold. Only thing is, I had killed it by the town's entrance; this is inside their mage HQ. I was scared half to death when I was opening my inventory while running out the gate only to see this huge dragon talon suddenly lurch out from behind one of the pillars.

I finished up the Companions quests a while back and as anyone who has done those quests should know Skjor is kinda dead. So imagine my surprise when I see this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pH-XzXwt0aA For anyone who doesn't want to watch a terrible quality recording (I don't blame you), basically Skjor was cruising through Darkwater Basin with his body all scrunched up and half submerged in the ground as he glided majestically down the road. Apparently I could talk to him as well Which is strange since he should be dead but nothing activated when I pressed the prompt.

I wish they'd learn from all the complaints and change the goddamn engine entirely for their next game, the glitches are constant and damned annoying. I can't even walk up the stairs in my house without getting stuck because the collision detection is absolute rear end. Not to mention a certain fight with three shouting enemies. I must have tried that one ten times because every time they shouted at me I'd fly into a random direction and often glitch out (character gets up in inaccessible places etc) so that I have no other choice than reload. If the player gets bugged and / or stuck almost every single time his character goes limp (paralysis, shouts..), then the physics engine obviously almost unplayably broken.

Interesting glitch at the end of the 'reforge the three parts of the magic amulet' quest. When you place the three parts of the amulet on the altar, the three sons who you defeated earlier appear in ghost form on the ledge just above you. Then they teleport out into the room one at a time to fight you. A temporary invisible wall must be thrown up to block the waiting ghosts from attack, because one of the ghosts will force shout at you and, if you're standing next to the amulet pieces still, knock you backwards up onto the ledge behind the invisible wall. Once you're up there you can't step down and you can't fire spells at least out from there. They just explode on the wall. This happened to me three or four times during that fight, and I kept having to open the console and toggle clipping to get back out.

I would also randomly crash or close while traveling around the world, and sometimes get weird non-textured trees. Since I did the 4gb thing in that link I had 0 issues, plus I turned the detail up and some things and it runs way better and more reliably.

I'm getting a bit worried about the PS3 save file bloat, it's currently totally manageable so long as I restart the system every hour or so, but it's not exactly getting better as time goes on. But if it gets to the point that my saves are crashing the game, I guess I'll have no other option but to start over without a PC to change little settings on.

Has anyone else noticed the fires don't burn expect for small smiting pits. I can jump into the Skyforge smith pit and nothing happens, sit in a fire pit in town and dance float over ground torches, but the minute I go into a small black smiths pit I burst into flames. I don't really think this is much of glitch as it is an oversight.

I saw one of you got the slain dragon that teleported to Whitehold College. I have three dragons there, two of them teleported there. ![]() I guess it's not really considered a bug, but the fact that everyone I pass starts to talk to me about their life is really loving annoying. I don't give a gently caress that you were an adventurer like me, but had to stop because you got an arrow in the knee (which seems to be a very common injury amongst city guards). Why are all these strangers confiding to me just because I pass them on the street? You are loving up my immersion with this poo poo.
