Seems tame compared to some of the stuff I've read, but after over 100 hours of play I finally saw my first real engine freakout.

I had just fast traveled to Falkreath to turn in a quest, go around the corner and suddenly a three-man Imperial patrol, complete with Stormcloak prisoner, plummet from the sky right in front of me. Three died on impact, one trooper who sort of was impaled on someone's picket fence tried to stand up, then collapsed. Naturally, this being en Elder Scrolls game I checked the bodies for gold then went on my merry way.

So I'm playing on xbox and even though I don't have any spells active all the npcs say the one line: "keep away from me with that dangerous looking magic!" whenever I get near them. The only way I got them to stop is by taking off all of my equipment so they just tell me to put on clothes instead but when I put my armor back on they go right back to the dangerous magic speech. I guess I'll try changing to a werewolf and back to see if that fixes it.

DERRRRRRRRRRP

I fought a dragon that was completely unrendered. It looked like a dragon-shaped mass of smooth muscle. As soon as I killed it, its scales and such appeared briefly before it turned into a skeleton. Favorite glitch so far

dont even TRY it, pal

So as I walked down a trail near Markarth, a redguard challenged me and I provoked him into a fight. During the conversation, a ghost horse ran by us down the path. I was confused, but didn't make much of it since it just ran by us and disappeared.

While fighting the Redguard, the horse's headless counterpart came running by trying to catch it's lost steed. I laughed for a good 10 minutes through the fight and afterward as I watched the great mysterious Headless Horseman running like an idiot.

Best glitch I've ever seen.

You can also use a console command to teleport yourself to them. Dont use the placeatme one though because it can create duplicates , and next thing you know you've got multiple lydias fighting over bread in breezehome.
You would want to use "prid lydia's_id_number", then either "player.moveto" (to teleport yourself) or "moveto player" (to move them to you).

Have you ever casted Dead Thrall? It doesn't go away properly when your permazombies dies. Check your active effects if this is a possibility, I have about 15 Thralls still showing up.

Look for any unusual magical effects in the menu, there's an early quest in the College that apparently gives you infinite mana for a while. It runs out eventually.

Had that bug hit me once. Way I fixed it was to do the showracemenu command (don't change anything, just retype your name and quit) and it was immediately fixed. I understand the last patch might cause issues if you try that command now though (resets the facial sliders IIRC), so check before trying.

I did read somewhere that apparently Cyrodil, or at least a low-res version of it without the landmarks (Except apparently the imperial city!), is actually in there, just blocked off. It leads me to wonder just whats planned for the DLC.

A march back on cyrodil to defeat the empire, and/or the thalmore would be loving epic.

Someone did a tour of it here using noclip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlbA2qiXsf0

Short answer: no way is it going to be part of DLC. It's the barest minimum rendering required to make the landmarks look correct if you're viewing it from a very high point in Skyrim.

I have a slightly different, and not game breaking, Markarth bug than most people. I surrendered to the guards in the temple and completed the quest. (Allied with Madenach, then killed the prisoners/forsworn as they ransacked the city). Now any time I try to reenter the Shrine of Talos the three guards are still there and immediately confront me attempting to restart the quest. Not really a problem, just need to remember to never go in there again.

I also had a disappointing graphics bug. I was wandering around the plains outside Whiterun when I saw someone running in a type of armor I had never seen before. Looked like some king of weird white paper armor. Naturally I chase the guy down (a Stormcloak Courier it turned out) and kill him. Hello awesome suit of paper armor! Oh, wait, hello lame Stormcloak Cuirass that forgot to render it's textures and that fixed itself some time later.

Finally, I have a recurring problem with mudcrabs falling through the world geometry. I see one dug into the ground next to a river, pull out my bow, and then watch as the arrow strikes the mudcrab so hard that it pushes it straight through the ground, never to be seen again. I wonder if there is an underground room full of dead mudcrabs and arrows with stairs that lead back to the real world.

Hmm came across an interesting glitch. Well on the PS3 when you 1st start the game you do the character selection, then start the game following the other guy down through the cave.

well i have found that when the character hits the dead end in the cave and turns around and heads down the tunnel on the right there is a skeleton scattered on the ledge. There's a gold bag sitting right next to it.(Just before the sleeping bear area).

If you take that bag of gold it seems to glitch the game completly. If you take that gold bag it will add 14gold, go into your inventory and it does not reflect you have taken nor have gold.

It will also glitch so that your inventory will now not show certain game items throughout the game.

i leveled the character up to lvv 15 got the char up to Dawnstar via steeling a horse, i went to that invincible chest and took all the items. Then opened my inventory and only a handful of the just taken items appeared. Yet i was able to go into a store and purchase 2k worth of goods.

Yet the inventory lists that i don't have any gold etc.

1. Have fortify Alchemy Enchanted Equipment.
2. Gather some Fortify Restoration ingredients (Abecean Longfin, Cyrodilic Spadetail, Salt Pile, Small Antlers, Small Pearl) and go somewhere an Alchemy lab and Enchanting table close to each other.
3. Make a fortify Restoration Potion and drink it
4. Unequip and reequip your armor a few times (not sure if you need to exit the menu)
5. Repeat 3-4 until you have really big numbers
6. Make a Fortify Enchanting potion and put Fortify Alchemy on a piece of gear to make the big numbers permanent.

This is absurdly gamebreaking. (To max speech, I simply sold 2 potions of 65k health damage worth 300k , carry weight boots are 6 digits)
What I'm really interested in is: at some point you run into int overflow issues, and I ended up with a ring of -200million alchemy (I think around there). I've only tried making a couple potions with it, but they've all just been equivalent to level 1 potions so far. I'll probably need to overflow the potions themselves rather than the gear to try to find interesting negative effects...

E: nevermind, there is talk of this in the crafting thread

Leaving earth is sometimes lonely when your feet are on the ground

Just a heads up for those that was experiencing the bug/glitch during the mage quest before Containment where the Arch Mage's corpse was glitched outside and the next quest wouldn't trigger. I was able to finally resolve the bug by doing a few of the Companions quests. I had completed all of the Dark Brotherhood, Main Story, Thief Guild and dozens of side quests and it wasn't fixed until I did the Companions quest where I rescued a captive mage for the college.

Hope that helps fellow 360 users that can't use the console to fix it.

Has this bizarre poo poo happened to anyone else?

On my first playthrough, I ended up getting the miscellaneous bounty quest on the dragon at Autumnwatch Tower twice. I had already successfully repeated bounty quests before with no problem, so I figured I'd just go kill the dragon again.

The fight started out normal, then after 1-2 hits the dragon starts burning up in mid-air, I get the glowing whirlwind thing and the "You have absorbed a dragon soul" message. So then I have this skeletal dragon flying around taunting me in dragon language when I find out that whatever just happened also made the dragon invincible. Then it turned completely invisible and I could only tell where it was because of a quest marker flying through the air. I ended up trying to sprint out of there, but it just followed me all the way across the Riften countryside blasting me with fire until I reverted to my previous save. I tried it one more time and the same drat thing happened again.

I've also gotten the multiple Louis Letrush thing and lately whenever I dismount a horse on a bridge, the horse flies off behind me somewhere at warp speed.

I'll have to remember that. It was a little tough here because dragons will follow you for miles before giving up anyway and this one was even more persistent. I think the second time I had to jump in a lake and just sit underwater for a while before I could wait/fast travel (thank you waterbreathing enchanted helmet).

The game didn't consider it stealing, but I did take it from one of the Stormcloak camps so it wasn't mine either. Now that I own a horse, it doesn't seem to be a problem.

I finally got to see one of the flying mammoths yesterday. I caught some movement off to the side and there it was, a mammoth hitting the ground.

Edit: Well apparently not because the horse I do own just went flying off into space when I dismounted in front of an orc stronghold. Convenient really because I needed to ditch it for a while so I could sneak around.

This is funny, because I had Lydia die to a trap that she kept running into and after I took what I could off of her I left her for dead in the Barrow in Ivarstead. I went outside, fast traveled to Whiterun, and ditched all my excess poo poo in Breezehome. As I was heading back out the door, who should show up but not one but TWO Lydias. They both stared at me for a second, with the same glower of disapproval and annoyance that only Lydia(s) can do, before they both instantly said "Honor to you, my Thane." at the SAME EXACT TIME and then moved and sat next to each other around the hearth.

I took one of them with me to carry my poo poo, and the other is either still in the house or has disappeared as I haven't seen her again. I think Lydia may be a hydra.

So I just read this entire thread and wanted to mention the one really strange glitch that happened to me.

I fast-traveled to the Abandoned Shack (the DB questline one), started walking towards wherever I was going, when I heard the incoming dragon music/roaring. I got myself ready to fight when suddenly the dragon fell down dead right in front of my face. Followed by a second dragon. Also dead.

I absorbed them both, quicksaved the game and fast-traveled back to the shack to check and make sure my horse was still alive (I'm weirdly paranoid about my horse), and immediately after I zoned, my horse came cartwheeling through the air towards me, landing on the ground, dead.

I reloaded my save, fast-traveled somewhere else, and my horse was standing there just fine.

I like to think that my horse flew through the air and drop-kicked those two dragons, heroically sacrificing itself in my defense.

Yeah, the game recognizes "borrowed" horses as well. They're owned by a person/faction that you have a good enough relationship with that they don't mind you using it. You won't get a bounty taking them, but they also won't wait for you.

Yeah, if you own the horse it won't wander away. However like I mentioned earlier, it apparently will still do the "warp speed" thing. The horse I owned flew off and apparently died because it never shows up when I fast travel now. I have mixed feelings about it since Shadowmere looked cool as hell, but also kind of a pain in the rear end.
