Yeah, being frozen and combining it with lots of power/speed makes the engine bug the gently caress out. I posted something like that in the beginning of the thread:

I wonder what specifically is causing the problem.

I was walking normally through some pine forest and suddenly my horse bumps into a tree, but instead of stopping it instantly walks up the entirety of the tree, at 200 miles per hour, and flies into the air with me still on it. We land 30 feet away after flying 100 feet in the air and my horse dies painfully but my guy gets up and walks away. Horse-san...

[Binge and] Purge the xenos!

I thought I'd share this, and I don't know how it triggered:

Realized that I had been playing for ~3 hours and could not turn in quests, update quests, get companions to follow me, and a few other things. 3 hours of mashing on a Gem of Barenziah to pick it up, mashing on the Winterhold crown quest turnin, nothing.

So I save, reboot, and come back in to about 15 minutes of gold acquisition, quest turnins, two companions running up (they reset when I zoned), and like 33 gems of barenziah - which let me complete the quest. Best bug ever?

And just now, I got the Paarthurnax immortal bug and enjoyed 30 minutes of leveling weapons skills before he flies up in the air (at 50%) health, then hits the ground and insta-dies.

I had to use the console to get past the main quest mission where you infiltrate a party, because the key wouldn't spawn regardless of what I did. Now everyone who was at the party still thinks they're at the party, and I can't do the Battle Of Whiterun quest. Last real save was a good few hours ago, and the party quest was even further back. Looks like I get to go all the way back to level 10 so that the game doesn't continue to eat its own rear end

I've had the same bug. After you turn the lever, stick to the back of the room, away from the gate, so he doesn't 'lock on' you. Took me 2-3 reloads but it eventually went through fine.

I'm not entirely sure what happened or why, but last night my wizard somehow had effectively infinite mana. I had just finished the first part of the Mage's Guild quest where you go into the excavation site and find that green orb and after checking back in at the College, I started to walk towards my next objective. While later exploring some random cave that I happened upon, I realized that I hadn't needed to chug any mana potions for the entire dungeon, and some quick experimentation revealed that my mana bar would refill nearly instantly every time I cast a spell. When I checked my magic menu for persistent effects, I had two Fortify Magicka Regeneration +25% effects that had a duration of one hour, and I have no clue as to why those got assigned to me or where I got them from.

Also, for everyone playing on the PS3, you can get noticeable improvements in load times and stability if you disable all of the auto-save options (travel / transition / menu / etc.). It sucks to have to remember to save on your own every few minutes, but I've got about 60-70 hours logged on my main save and haven't had a single hard-lock or crash, or even any explicit bugs really (like falling through world geometry or monsters blasting off into space). I learned this trick from New Vegas, and being on the same engine as Skyrim it definitely makes the gameplay smoother.

That happened to me as well in the same spot. I rode up, dismounted, and as I look up I see a horse corpse fly over the mountain and land about 20 feet away from me.

I've had a few instances of untextured objects showing up, mostly cages, so they show up as this weird lavender color. Alduin also showed up in this same lavender color once when I encountered him while he was resurrecting a dragon.

The Napoleon of Crime

I've lucked out mostly, the only real glitch I had for a while was one where the textures wouldn't load around a door, so there was just a door floating in the middle of a perspective-defying square of solid purple where the wall and part of the floor and ceiling should have been, but that didn't affect anything, I could still access the door and when I came back it was fixed. So I figured I got off light, until yesterday.

I was exploring some Dwemer ruins when I got to a room where you have to fight a Dwemer Centurion Master. Killed him, wandered around, saw a tiny alcove blocked by a gate that I guess you were supposed to find a lever in the room to open. There was a chest in the alcove, so I pressed myself against the bars, hoping that I could bring my character just close enough to open the chest through the bars...when I phased through. I was sitting inside this tiny little room, barred by a gate, with no way out. Pressing up against the gates again didn't work, either. It wasn't too bad, since I had an autosave from when I entered the room, but I had to fight the Centurion Master again.

Other than that, though, I've been surprised with how few glitches this game has given me compared to other Bethesda titles.

Fun fact: If you start a new game and do "showracemenu" in the console at the very beginning while you're still riding in the cart, one of the front wheels glitches loose and causes the cart to do barrel rolls and just generally freak out all over the place, all while your fellow prisoners remain talking nonchalantly.

Best part of this is if you pick Nord over and over again the cart flips out.

If you pick orc you just flat-out die.

Then it tries to reload your previous save, which for me was an argonian wizard in an ice cave. The argonian flipped the gently caress out and started to bounce between the ceiling and floor until he died.

Last night I did the quest in Winterhold to retrieve the Helm of Winterhold for the Jarl there. After that he said I could be his Thane if I helped his people, and I had helped 2/3 people. I found what I had to do next, which was in Riften, went there and couldn't find anything.

Today I booted up the game, went to Winterhold and talked to the Jarl, hey, he wants me to get him the helm again. So I do, and he gives me 1000 gold (last night he gave me 750). Nothing about being his Thane this time, so I left and entered again and, oh hey, he wants me to get another Helm of Winterhold.

Uhhh what the gently caress?
