WANTED: INFO on Mindless. Anything! Everything! Send to

I've ran into a couple of neat glitches recently, first I found the back left mannequin in the Raven Rock manor multiplied the set of ancient Falmer armor I put on it, which helped when the companion wearing the first set disappeared and never returned. Then I noticed the crossbow J'zargo was using had somehow been electrified! No idea if it did extra damage but it looked pretty cool.

Similar happened to me at Lakeview Manor, my enchanted battlemage armor was replaced by the vanilla version and a new set of stormcloak officer armor (which was originally on this same mannequin) was there as well. Not so bad, though, as I had plenty of soul gems and better enchanting skill at the time so I could re-make my armor better this time, plus, hey, free stuff.

When they step off their podiums, though, drat.

Of course you should fight fire with fire. You should fight everything with fire.

Light a fire under your butt and go work out!

My Lakeview Manor mannequin recently copied Miraak's Boots and Gloves. I thought I'd just forgotten to move them to Raven Rock, so I grabbed them off the mannequin, only to find that the Raven Rock mannequin was already wearing them. Now he has an extra set.

I like that you can give mannequins as much equipment as you want ... but they then decide on their own which ones to wear, sort of like a follower.

Yeah, except it won't wear something you want it to sometimes, even with no other options. Mine won't wear the stormcloak officer's helmet even though it doesn't have any other helmets, which is the coolest part of that outfit and the whole point of giving it that armor in the first place. I might try to console command it to equip but who knows what kind of buggy repercussions that might have.

Most of the glitches I encounter seem to involve followers or NPCs getting stuck in or moving through things. Jenassa seems particularly prone to this

Alright so I've been having a pretty infuriating bug happen to me on my latest play-through. It's during the quest a blade in the dark where you have to kill the dragon Sahloknir, I fast traveled over to his location and proceeded to kill the dragon. Unfortunately the next step in the quest where it ask for the player to talk to Delphine seems to be bugged out, and the only response I get when talking to her is "That was well done, come on, I've been wanting to look at one of these buggers." So yeah, if anyone has any experience with this mod, or has a tool for skipping the quest that would be great.

:edit:
okay turns out dragons diversified was loving everything up, lessons learned about playing a mod that hasn't been updated I guess.

The efforts of madmen are a society of itself, but only if they are written.

Is there a definitive solution for dragon souls no longer being absorbed after installing Dragonborn? I tried updating the Unofficial Dragonborn Patch, deactivating it, moving it around in the load order, and updating the Unofficial Skyrim Patch as well, but the test dragons I'm spawning with the console still won't give up their souls.

Do you use BOSS to do your load order sorting? I want to say that was involved in fixing it for me, but it's been a while and I could be misremembering a different bug.

I'm fairly sure that issue has something to do with your load order, because the first time I installed skyrim I didn't use Mod Organizer and just threw all my addons in the /data folder and it was real sloppy. Then I couldn't absorb dragon souls so I had to get this fix. Recently I reinstalled skyrim, used mod organizer to install every addon, and then used BOSS to sort my load order. I did not have the problem again and didn't need to download that fix.

If I recal right, problem is the dragonactorscript.pex file. Either the Dragonborn version, or a version that is compatible with Dragonborn (such as that of the Unofficial Dragonborn Patch) needs to supply that script to the game.

Your loadorder should look something like this:
Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Dawnguard.esm
Hearthfires.esm
Dragonborn.esm
<any other .esm>
Unofficial Skyrim Patch
Unofficial Dawnguard Patch
Unofficial Hearthfire Patch
Unofficial Dragonborn Patch
<all other plugins>

If your loadorder is correct and you're still having the problem check the following:
If you're using MO, getting the loadorder of the plugins right is not enough. You'll also need to sort out the loadorder of the bsa files under the bsa tab and - more importantly - the loadorder on the left side of the screen in MO of all of your installed mods.
Once you have that sorted out, go take a look under the Data tab. This shows the virtual Data folder MO will voodoo into Skyrim. Go see under Scripts which mod supplies the dragonactorscript file. It ought to be either the UnofficialDragonbornPatch.bsa, or a mod that you know is compatible with dragonborn.
If another mod supplies dragonactorscript, uninstall that mod. Then refresh the virtual data folder and go check again. Repeat until you get the correct dragonactorscript.

If you're not using MO, start using MO. In the meantime, you still need to check if any of the other mods you've installed has an outdated version of dragonactorscript. Or if any mod you have uninstalled left that file behind.
If you find one, just deactivating/removing the plugin is not enough if the mod placed the script as a loose file under Data/Scripts. You'll need to remove that as well.

Once you're sure that the correct version of dragonactorscript is being loaded into the game, go kill a dragon. If you're still experiencing the problem, go try it with a new game. If the problem persists with the correct versin of the script and a new game, I can only conclude that your computer is haunted by the vengefull ghost of Miraak. I suggest burning it.

ONE HUNDRED CUPS OF COFFEE.

The other possibility is that you're spawning a dragon related to one of the set dragon points that you already killed.

Try spawning a different dragon.

Thanks for the suggestions. I hit my load order with the new BOSS master list and used a generic dragon code from UESP instead of the help function, and Miraak finally showed up to absorb its soul. It's been a while so I forgot Skyrim was so picky about which dragons are allowed to give up their souls.

I've already completed the Red Eagle questline back at level 30 or so. I recently picked-up a Red Eagle lore book and now that quest has reactivated "find Red Eagle's sword" as if I have never found his sword. Anyone else have this glitch?

I've gotten this before. If you still have Red Eagle's Bane (the sword you get at the end of that quest), you can just take it back to Rebel's Cairn and stick it in that sword slot which will make the quest objective complete. Or if you left the sword there, just take it out and put it back.

Having an odd problem with Ill Met By Moonlight. I sided with Sinding and killed all the hunters, and the quest was flagged as complete, but the Aspect of Hircine won't show up outside to give me the ring. I reloaded a save from the start of Bloated Man's Grotto and ran it again, and now the aspect shows up, but won't talk to me and just walks away. Chasing after it crashes the game.

I can just console myself the ring anyway, but since there are so many bugs associated with it already, I'd rather get it the correct way.
