So, which Assassination missions do I have to do to make sure I get all the gang related ones before I really bunker down and start taking over the city. I want to 100% this game, and I'm going to be mad if I already can't due to Assassination missions involving gang members being in specific places, if any require Morning Star to be in Downtown, I'm already screwed.

Songbearer posted:This is the only problem I have with the game. Holy poo poo, I love it to bits and it's very likely my goty (11 hours played so far), but the game really, really needs to have missions or some small cutscenes where some mundane story happens. I wanted to decide for myself whether the feedback about everything being abrupt was true, and it is. There's a lot of stuff that needs someone to say, okay, this and this is happening for this reason. This is pretty much exactly how I feel. Like, the characters are cool, interesting and well done, I loathe Killbane, Kenzie is odd, Stag is interesting, the various gangs are very fleshed out and well done and cool, and then like, nothing happens. Well, lots of stuff happens, but they have no build up, you just suddenly decided to drop all the middleman work, and all of a sudden AWESOME EVENT, with no real reason or explanation as to how you got there. There is no connecting thread between everything. In SR2, everything was connected, you knew why the Ronin were getting mad, you saw how your actions escalated the conflict between you and Maero, when Ultor sent the Matako at you, you quickly figured out why. In SR3 it gives you a bunch of busywork missions to set up activities, then all of a sudden says your about to assault a clubhouse on a floating island boat, have fun. And its honestly a little disappointing, Angel, Kenzie, Oleg and Zimos are all really interesting, but they have maybe 90 unique lines between all of them in Act 2. I really hope Volition puts out a DLC thats basically "this is the poo poo that we didn't have time to finish that fills in all the gaps", because honestly, the game needs it a little. I love it, its my GOTY ( well, thats a lie, its in second place, Skyrim came out of nowhere and took that. ), but I'd happily spend another $20 to go do fun stuff with Zimos/Kenzie/Angel/Oleg. I'm kind of annoyed at all the "activities" missions, because they feel like filler put in place to pad the game, and if they had been removed and 1-4 other interesting connecting missions had been put in place, this probably would have been a much better game overall.

Agnostic watermelon posted:I think the reason I don't like where they went for Shaundi is because they went out of their way to establish she's not some badass killer like the boss and gat. She's more of an information/plan making type which gave balance to the group. I mean, she got kidnapped by a weak hippie DJ for god's sake now you're trying to tell me she's as brutal and badass as gat/the boss? Except they kind of push that aside near the end, when she gets captured easily, as well as the last few missions. Shes NOT as tough as the Boss/Pierce/Gat, she's just mad as hell. I just beat it, I actually liked the end of Act 2, and most of Act 3, as it really picked up the story again, and tried to somewhat tie it together, it felt much more like SR2 then the beginning did. Really, this game did so many things right, the leveling system is a massive improvement, the cars feel better, the guns feel better, the basic gameplay is better, the average fight is a ton better due to brutes, shields, etc, STAG is fantastic, the characters are extremely well written, especially the enemies, and the missions themselves are super fun and varied, hell even the co-op is more fun due to survival, and just all the stuff you can do. Really, the biggest issues this game has is two points the fight against the Morning Star, and the beginning of Act 2, the Morning Star are presented as this MASSIVE EVIL EMPIRE, and you beat them by uh, raiding a warehouse, then saying gently caress it and charging their home base. What. I get that you didn't really beat them and just said gently caress it and charged their home base, but this could have been explained a hell of a lot better. Instead it just kind of gets waved off, if another mission, or hell two had been added where you and Shaundi/Pierce hosed things up before hand, it would have been a lot better I think, instead we had Pierce go around telling us basic information on how to do activities, then he launched us at the "major enemy", it was really jarring. Secondly was of course the beginning of Act 2, where we gather our allies, and then uh, run around doing more activities, and then everything intensified and STAG appeared, and suddenly the story started picking up again, but we never saw Kenzie/Angel again, and barely saw Viola/Oleg. It felt like 3-4 missions with these guys are just missing, this also could have been used to help explain that we didn't actually do poo poo to the Syndicate/Morning Star, we just ran to their main HQ and killed their boss, now they have legions of angry dudes. I have a few minor issues with it besides that, mainly the fact the streets are empty, in SR1/2 we had homies on every corner we controlled, they were the main catalyst for a ton of the fun I had in game, watching them do stupid stuff, or using them as human cover. Here they are all missing, and the only time I see Saints is during missions they come in to play. Yet for some reason there is an entire upgrade path devoted to making them better, what do I care, they don't even exist. I really get the feeling these missions were either removed for DLC, they ran out of time/money during development, or as someone suggested earlier in this thread, they brainstormed the coolest missions they could, and then had to figure out how to tie them together which was a bit more difficult then they originally assumed it would be. My main hope for this game is that over the next year, all these DLC we are getting won't just be costumes and guns, or missions that add to the end of the story, but stuff that'll get put in these two problem sections of the game to add to them, helping to alleviate some of the issues the base game had. If they do that, It'd easily help push the game in to my favorite in the series. As for the complaints about Loren and Gats funeral, I mean, a gigantic steel ball just fell on him, I kind of immediately recognized he was dead. As for Gat, I blew up the tower, which made my dudes say we need to go bury Gat, so yeah, I knew what was going on there. I guess if you keep it you get screwed? Also I did not even notice people calling Viola a ton of slurs, but then again, I wasn't paying attention for it. Just killing off Gat and then never really mentioning him again was super lovely though. Rookersh fucked around with this message at Nov 16, 2011 around 14:14 |

Questions. First, can I have more then 1 save at a time, or will it overwrite the first save, want to make a female boss now, but don't want my near 100% city to be removed in the process. Secondly, how the hell do I conquer the little squarish area the Guardian Angel activity is in in upper Downtown? I've scoured the entire thing, but can't find anything, and its keeping me locked at 99%. I'm going to guess the Guardian Angel activity was supposed to unlock it, and it bugged out.

After going through the endings again, I really dislike the Killbane ending. By that point in the game Killbane is through as an enemy, you've demasked him, you've shredded his gang, you've destroyed his credibility as a person, you've done things to him that are to his way of life, worse then death, killing him doesn't make things worse for him, it just makes things worse for you. Meanwhile, as Male Voice 1 says, the Saints really are not in to the whole domestic terrorism thing, however they are very much in to the whole standing up for your crew and fighting people who hurt them as seen by almost the entire game called Saints Row 2. There is also the fact the Boss is shown to be FIERCELY protective of their reputation. Really all the choices had this issue, one felt right, the other felt like something the Saints wouldn't do, only one really could go either way, and thats the option for where you want the discounts.

Crappy Jack posted:Yeah, I agree with all this, but ending things with the movie thing, while awesome and everything, just wasn't as fun of a resolution as blowing up a hovercarrier and declaring your own citystate. Showing the Boss in a goofy sci-fi movie just wasn't the same high note as taking control of an entire city and declaring it to the world. Well I liked how by saving your crew, it tied up everything nicely, Monica Hughes rejoins the Saints and tries to spokeswoman them in Congress as hometown heroes, Cyrus goes the gently caress away, you OWN Steelport/Stillwater and everyone loves you, and you tie it all up by making a movie whose entire purpose is to make an even larger mockery of Killbanes remaining existence by smashing what little pride he has left in to the ground. Why do you need a citystate when you own the town, Burt Reynolds is a homie, as is most of the police force, hell, if you listen to ped talk after the end, many of them say Congress is on the Saints side. Also, while I felt the movie was cheesy, it was the nice kind of cheesy, since you were finishing Gats pride and joy by bringing his beloved Gangstas in Space comic book series to the big screen. SuddenCactus posted:I was disappointed with some of the characters disappearing half way through the story, still a great game though. I felt that way the first time, and then played again recently, and found the best way to play the game is to get to Act 2, then totally ignore Kenzie and Angel, just do things for Zimos, this pushes the plot to the point you suddenly need Kenzie, then do her stuff, then you suddenly need Angel, do all his stuff. It kept everything together much more coherently, and felt more like SR2 with the "three gangs, three stories" kind of thing, while keeping it tied together and linear. My first game I just did quests for everyone at once, and it went all over the place, and Angel just didn't exist for half the game because I talked to him a bunch really early on. So after 3 games, I've finally figured out how to play the game to make the story feel right, and get rid of most of those "where did that cutscene come from?" moments. 1. Do all the missions up until the cutscene before the Powder mission, ie do the Genki mission with Pierce, but don't keep going. 2. Grab Pierce and Shaundi as homies, drive around and do all the Gang Ops in Downtown, buy all the property you want, do all the activities, but only do all this stuff in Downtown. 3. After you've felt like you've caused enough mayhem, start up the cutscene bit, then do Powder and Belgian Problem, blow up the tower. 4. Now that you are back in Steelport, you should commemorate by never talking to Kenzie or Angel after you recruit them, just do all of Zimos activities, along the way smashing stuff in the New Colvin area, buying stuff, etc, I did all the gang ops with Zimos and Oleg which was fun. 5. Keep doing missions over there, smashing stuff along the way ( I'd honestly advise 100%ing Colvin before doing Hos Up, since that gets you Safeword. ), eventually you finish them off in that area, and Oleg brings up the Gang Bang mission, go do that. 6. You now have Stag to deal with, this could go either way as to how to progress, if you go and do the Live! With Killbane mission, you could bounce off that you've been framed and THATS why you need to go start the Stag missions, or you could just start the Stag missions and go over to the Live! With Killbane mission after, either way, do the Stag missions up to Stag Party, then leave it before starting My Name is Cyrus Temple. 7. Now you have Stag hurting and thinking you don't exist anymore, and the Deckers are on your poo poo list, so go do a bunch of Kenzie missions all at once, probably would help to do the activity ones first, but I actually found they made more sense after deckers.die, same with conquering that district, the game flowed much better when I did Computer > Chair > deckers.die, then did the "Lets move Kenzie to a new place/lets protect Kenzie" missions. 8. Now that the Deckers and Stag are out of the way, Murderbrawl should pop up, instead of doing it, do all the Angel activity missions, since he's "building character", then go do Murderbrawl. 9 Grab My Name is Cyrus Temple, and push through to the end of the game, making whatever choices you want. The main problem with the games story after beating it this way isn't that it doesn't make sense, but more that it offers those connecting missions ahead of time so you usually burn through them before you realize what they mean/add. If you just book it around doing activities, you'll likely remove Angel and Kenzies missions, which add a ton of extra info into their gang ops, also, near the middle they basically allowed you to play the game in whatever order you chose, doing most of the "endgame" missions very early on, which really screwed with the well, I guess setting. Kakesu/Fixit, can you guys look in to homie spawning? In my first game, I 100%'d each island, spent hours roaming the islands causing trouble, and fully cleared the entire game without seeing a single Saint outside of my penthouses. In my second, I focused on the Saintbook stuff and getting a chick through the game to see Fem1's lines, and saw a few more Saints. In my third, I 100%'d everything, and if I totally took over a zone, ie Downtown fully or Colvin fully I'd start seeing homie spawns walking around there, but not until. In this fourth run however, I'm getting homie spawns whenever I take over just a little section, if I buy a building, I get Saints standing guard outside, if I do an activity, they patrol that area, and I'm seeing more and more of them. I'm guessing this is how its supposed to work, due to all the Gang Upgrades you can buy, but whats causing them to not work like this, ie what happened in my first few games, their existence boosted my love for this game tenfold, since they pick fights with everyone, so just kind of curious as to whats supposed to trigger them, and if you guys can take a look at it again.

Cardboard Box posted:The feeling of progression is overall a lot weaker than Saints Row 2. In that game, you started out with barely any presence and a lovely apartment, then as you got farther along you'd see more Saints walking around and your HQ would visibly get fixed up and become more elaborate. Its less progression, and more in game one, on a 100% save not a single Saint spawned at all, to randomly on this game I'll actually see them on the streets/guarding my property. It was something I actually thought they removed until my 2nd-3rd game when they started spawning, and its still super inconsistent, in this solo game they spawn everywhere, but in another game they only spawn when I take a territory, and in another its only when I fully conquer a district. http://steamcommunity.com/id/Nals/s...927/?tab=public http://steamcommunity.com/id/Nals/s...692/?tab=public http://steamcommunity.com/id/Nals/s...212/?tab=public

Cardboard Box posted:Cardboard Box says stuff While I agree, want to point out two things. First off, the story actually makes total sense, the issue is one minor cutscene omission ( lets go home and bury johnny not being in the keep the tower ending ), as well as the fact they allow you to do certain segments WAY before you theoretically should have been able to. After beating the game twice, I managed to piece together a pretty good idea of how the plot was originally supposed to go, and forced my buddy to play it like that, he ended up saying the story was as good as SR2, and made total sense to him, without me ever having to tell him what was going on, and this was after my first run seeing me be totally confused at several points during the game. And the Saints thing is a bug, it has to be, I've been game jumping into various friends games, and half of them have Saints, half don't, all have done largely the same things, so it seems its just random if you get them or not, I've posted pictures though showing them walking around, its just something I really hope Volition fixes soonish.

Amusingly, one of the better done characters in the game is Viola. I thought she was going to just phone it in hard, but no, she pulled off the character perfectly, it was a complete shocker, as she managed to be one of my favorite characters in the game. I kind of hope the cast for SR4 is Oleg, Kenzie, Gat, and Viola, with Pierce being the Mayor of Steelport, so he is still there during all these meetings and stuff, as well as gives us stuff, but doesn't actually bang so much anymore, and is not a lieutenant, with Shaundi staying dead, and Zimos staying behind to handle his hos. Keeping Josh on your side makes much more sense. In terms of actual rewards, you not only get Josh as a homie, you also get him in his Nyteblade outfit complete with silly lines... and you can summon both him and him in his Nyteblade outfit at the same time. It's dumb as poo poo and totally Saints Row. STAG gives you the ability to instantly take over an area which is cool if you like depriving yourself of gameplay I guess On the other hand Burke and Nyteblade got really boring as homies really fast, as they obviously couldn't do much in terms of banter with them, and they suck at combat so you wouldn't bring them for that either. And well, gently caress Hard Trailblazing in the Luchadore area, as well as Hard Insurance Fraud, they are so boring/hard.

NESguerilla posted:I got at least 8 hours each out of Dead Money and Old World Blues for Fallout NV. Both of those were examples of what I would call good DLC. I won't buy it, but I don't mind it either. To me, there are several types of DLC, and this is nowhere near the worst, or really bad at all, neither is the Bethesda/Fallout stuff. The thing is, in most games, you can tell its cut content rereleased to make some more cash, or its totally overpriced for what it is, a 30 minute "story" adventure for $7-$10 is kind of pushing it, since thats around the same price as an indie game, meanwhile a $10-$15 price point for something like Old World Blues or Lonesome Road is fine, since its a good excuse to start up the game again, and those usually add another 3-4 hours on to the game, or in the case of stuff like Human Revolution, Missing Link is around a fourth of the games size. Theres a good reason to get angry at DLC in those cases, when its actually story content that helps fill out the game, and finishes stuff up, and is for some ungodly reason heavily overpriced. And well, that may happen with SR3 in the future looking at the Season Pass, but we can't know yet. As for this stuff though? Its either in the game, or is just some minor stuff you may or may want in your game, but its not important, you can beat the entire game without the Shark Gun or the GenkiCannon and still receive the full effect of SR3, hell, I have the GenkiCannon and never used the drat thing since it just doesn't feel like it fits very well. But for those people who want Shark Cannons or Purple Blinged out Knight Suits made by Volition, they can get them for $1/$2, which is cheap enough that its not really edging in to the "this is far to much" territory.

Hey Kakesu/Fixit, I've seen it mentioned that Volition has a few ideas for free postgame content as well, such as the TF2 hats for the PC version. Would you guys mind spending an afternoon making some rewards for finishing Assassination/Car Thefts? It wouldn't have to be anything special, just make it so every 5 people you kill, you get a new purple and gold blinged out weapon for your arsenal thats the exact same as the original gun, just purple and sainty, or hell, if thats to much work, just make one specific gun look awesome and purple and sainty for killing all the targets. Same with cars, just make a bunch of muscle cars/cars you can steal get "saintified" and be the rewards for doing the activities. As it is right now, there is incentive to do everything else, doing the main story unlocks more homies, and a bunch of cool stuff, doing the activities gets you cash every hour, and rewards like different homies for doing them all, or respect to buy new upgrades, etc etc. Assassinations and Car Thefts just have a pretty terrible amount of respect overall, and not really all that much cash either, I just made a new guy and did nothing but all those missions, and I still ended up only being level 11 with 40k, which I could have made in half that time if I went and did activities, and can make in a single hour if I own the city. I just figure it'd be an easy way to throw in an extra reward for doing that stuff, hell, if even thats to much work, why not just give a 15% discount on upgrading guns, or cars if you've done all those missions, as something to work for besides an achievement.

Naked Chainsaw posted:I've scrapped my old save and started anew, and the weird thing is that I'm hearing dialogue I'm positive didn't play in the first run. One of my complaints about the game was that the storytelling blew rear end, something I'm still gonna stand behind, but now in this playthrough Pierce actually acknowledged Gat's death while we were driving, and it's been mentioned a few times. In my initial run I heard none of this, it went from Gat beefin' it right into I've pointed this out several times, but again for science. ![]() The story of SR3 is actually really good, to the point I'd claim its better then the story of SR2, the issue is several of the voices just drop off major mentions at specific points ( Male 1 stops talking about Gat after the plane, everyone else keeps talking about him, etc ), the first major "choice" can lead to you not getting information on whats going on next ( "Lets go bury Gat." ), and most importantly, Volition let you do a bunch of activity missions/missions right out of the gate, presumably to let you do all of them whenever you wanted and get stuff like VTOLs and such really "early". The issue is, large chunks of story are attached to those chunks of activity, and they are very specifically supposed to be done in a specific order. Basically, Volition allows you to pick how to do the story, without letting you know the proper "order" the story was supposed to go in, which leads to situations where you've been murdering STAG for hours now, and suddenly hit a rock right before their major BEAT THE EVERLOVING poo poo OUT OF THEM mission because you didn't talk to Kenzie awhile back and push through her chain. Or you did a bunch of missions with Angle talking about how you are getting ready to take on Killbane, but then suddenly this is never talked about and Angel drops out of the game until you've beaten another 40% of it. If you want, I've set up a pretty decent list of "what order to play the missions" that really helps make it so everything makes sense, I've given it to all my friends/roommates, and they all felt the story made perfect sense after playing it that way.

There is a Hard Trailblazing there that is loving IMPOSSIBLE, or at least so ungodly hard I am totally down with not having Nyteblade just to make sure I don't have to suffer through it ever again. Now to write out this giant thing, because I have a feeling due to someone not actually reporting he needs a shift change, I'll end up working a twelve hour shift tomorrow with no breaks, which is going to be so much fun, let me tell you. So, here's the deal with the story in SR3. Its actually fairly good, and makes a decent amount of sense, the issue is, Volition split it up in to chapters, then let you pick whatever missions you wanted within those chapters, so you could get whatever mission rewards you wanted, whenever you wanted them. There are also a few queues, both verbal, audio, and visual that you can miss by making the wrong choices, or taking off the headset during specific loading screens. Due to both these things, almost everyone likely did things in such a way that the story would be at best fairly disjointed, and at worst just a collection of "awesome missions." However, after pumping 60 hours into SR3, all of them being restarting the game over and over again and playing with the the roommate, out of state friend, other friend, other friends girlfriend, girlfriends female friend, other internet friend, boss, bosses boss, dad, and a number of other people, I think I have the story down pretty well. So here is ROOKERSHS GUIDE TO SAINTS ROW 3. Guaranteed by qualified Mexican doctors to improve the experience by 170% ( they are not real doctors ) 1. Do all the missions in the beginning of the game, do all of Pierces activity missions, STOP right after the Genki activity mission, and then leave Pierce alone for a bit. 2. Go roll around Downtown and blow people up, do some Assassinations for Rasputin, do some activities, buy out property, be a dick and nutshot some dudes, after you feel enough of Downtown is purple, go do the cutscene ( where they talk about how much damage they've been doing to the Syndicate ), and then continue on to the Tower mission, in the choices, choose to blow up the Tower. 3. So now you are back in Steelport, and have some new buddies, celebrate by COMPLETELY IGNORING KENZIE AND ANGEL, seriously, do not talk to them at all yet, instead, head on up to New Colvin, and hang around with Zimos a bit. Help him sell merch, help protect his girls, and cause some trouble in New Colvin, around this time you could probably finish up the conquest of Downtown to get your boys crowding the streets, and do some serious damage to New Colvin as well. 4. Once you've done all of Zimos activity missions, he'll have a cutscene wanting to party, then the Hos Up mission should pop up, rather then doing that, you should go back to base and do the "Trojan Whores" mission. 5. Oh no! Killbanes kind of a dick. Now you should stick it to him by finishing the Zimos chain, conquering Safeword, capturing a boatload of Hos, and finishing it all up by starting a big ol' Gangbang with Viola. Just a note, in Hos Up, Zimos forces you into a Boogiewagon, make sure to keep the sound playing, and listen closely during the loading screen, the story keeps playing during it. 6. Whelp, now you've stuck your dick in the hornets nest. You should probably start fighting back against this new enemy, doing the missions against them, from Convoy Decoy, and ending with Stag Party, don't pick up My Name is Cyrus Temple just yet. 7. Well, they think you are dead now, and you got a bunch of new toys, but it looks like Killbane thinks he's tough, so you should probably go do Live! With Killbane. 8. Looks like the Deckers think they can actually compete in a gang war, how cute, go help Kenzie settle in through her activities, then help her get a new computer, and eventually a new chair. Finish off the Deckers and you'll be done in that zone. 9. The Deckers are done with, but Stag knows you are alive again, so you should probably go handle them, do a few Stag missions until Murderbrawl opens up. Once you see it, go head on down to Angel, and learn from him how to handle fighting the Walking Apocalypse. 10. Take on the big guy, and beat him to a pulp using the power granted to you by Saints Flow. 11. With Killbane out of the picture, all you have left is Stag, have fun beating the game. Beating it in that order seriously improved my opinion of the story about 20-50%, and caused it to make sense to everyone I made play through it that way.

Bahahaha. Doing the Ho Boat mission, after getting the Ho's back to land. Spawn in the truck with my buddy, and start asking him where to bring the Hos, he says back to the Saints, duh, and we head out, only to somehow two wheel the fence in front of the truck, and flip it on its side before we even leave the parking lot. Neither of us could stop laughing.

Daryl Surat posted:I listened to the podcast linked earlier where they interviewed the Saints Row: The Third lead designer. After hearing it, I'm now wondering just how much of Saints Row being great is a fluke. Practically the first thing out of his mouth is that his least favorite part of Saints Row 2 was the Brotherhood mission with Carlos, and that he never really heard anyone talk about that scene being good. Then he talks about how much he loves QTEs since they get you really pumped up. So wait, was the effectiveness of one of the story missions a total accident? Was it supposed to be awesome? No he didn't. He said the Carlos mission was great, but it was in complete contrast to the rest of SR2, so it "sucked", and that they set out to change it. And its true, the entire rest of the Brotherhood line was consistent in its own way, even locking Jessica in the truck and bringing her to get crushed fit in with it, only the Carlos mission stood out as being so different tonally from the rest of the game, it was very distinct, and honestly, not distinct in a good way either, it was more GTA then SR.

Daryl Surat posted:I think if you look in the SR Story thread, when you see what people describe as "Saints Row as gently caress" often entails the Carlos mission and the Julius ones precisely BECAUSE they tonally stand out in such contrast to much of the rest of the game. It didn't "suck" because of that. That's the reason why it was good, and if the lead designer doesn't see that then I'm wondering how much of this is all just a happy accident. I sure as hell don't want the entire game to be like those scenes because pursuing that is why GTA lost its way in my eyes, but those moments are good to have here and there because people remember them. That's why people are so split on some of the various branching outcomes in SR3. Again, you are trying to push something that isn't there. The Jessica Scene, Julius Scene, Aisha Scene, and even Lin Scene are all in tone with the rest of the game, and are widely considered far more "Saints Row as gently caress" then the Carlos scene. The Carlos scene is good, sure, but its not some heavenly scene that made the Brotherhood storyline, when people talk about how much they love the Brotherhood storyline, they mean stuff like robbing the bank for Jessica to stuff her in a trunk, or the Nuke Plant, or ruining the lives of all of Maeros friends to get back at him, not the Carlos mission, I actually haven't seen much love for the Carlos cutscene either on these forums, or any other, besides the obvious emotional impact and the fact it drove the best mission structure forward. What the lead designer said still stands, the Carlos mission was good, but it wasn't in tonal line with the rest of the game, and could have been done a hell of a lot better, both Julius and Jessica were tonally in line with the rest of the game, and pretty much everyone will likely agree they were done quite a bit better then Carlos was, who was mainly just thrown in place to facilitate the advancement of the Brotherhood storyline. You are honestly the first person I've ever seen call that section of the game "the best part", since it was an extremely weak mission gameplay wise, and the cutscene really didn't hold that much weight compared to other stuff like Get Up, Aishas House, or even Julius at the Ruins.

THIS IS HOW YOU BUY CLOTHES! Throughout most of the campaign I was certain he'd resurface at an opportune moment, but nope. On the first run I did ignore missions when I was given the ability to roam freely, and so I missed a number of cutscenes as well which are supposed to introduce activities.
