Just wait until you get to the final part of the quest- You fight all three sons again (not all at once thankfully) and this time Sigdis has six spots to choose from and creates three or four illusions

Possible pro-tip: You can increase your chances for finishing moves via the console.

code:
Open the console and type "set killmoverandom to <0-100>"
Where <0-100> is an integer representing the chance to do a finishing move.
Haven't tried it yet, but I will tonight.

I set this up to 100 and it's fun!

Finishers only work in certain cases:
1) You and the enemy are on level footing
2) The enemy has to be the last one standing. Any other red dots on the compass means no finisher.
3) No finishers if attacking with a left hand weapon
4) If you attack and the enemy runs into your attack then the finisher won't play. Most noticeable with slower, heavier weapons.

I played it on console and thought it was an awesome fight. Granted I fought him with Archery and a small army - one follower and two summons. But I found myself constantly moving and it kind of felt like a platformer boss.

I just fought him and I found a rather cheesy way to beat him: I hit him with Unrelenting Force and as he flew into a wall, he teleported away. When he came back, he was stuck lying on his back. He kept teleporting but he stayed on his back until I killed him.

If this is true I see no reason to not set it to 100.

What's the percentage chance normally? And does changing it stick across saves?

Exactly. I used it for shits and giggles but once I realized it only activates for the final enemy I kept it on all the time.

WarLocke posted:

No clue what the original percentage is. I would ballpark it at around 30%-40%. It doesn't transfer over saves as far as I know. But once you load up a game just open the console and type it in and that's it. If you die or save and reload in the same gaming session it will still persist. If you load another character or a previous save before it was consoled in you might have to re-input it. Not too sure though.

I'm not sure if this has been asked or what, so I'm just going to ask here. My old character was level 28 before I touched alchemy once. I had to go through so much bullshit to get skillup. I consoled myself enough ingredients to make about 1000 of the expensive potions that use giant toes, etc. and it still crept along up to 100. I heard someone mention that alchemy takes a longer time to level up if your guy is a higher level. I remade a dude becuase I used too many exploits in my old game and everything was trivially easy. I want to take the legit path to make things trivially easy this time, but I don't want to spend forever loving with alchemy.

My question is: if I leave my dude at level 1 (never advancing him a level by pressing tab and going into the skills section) will trade skills level faster as a result of that? Does being a lower level truly have anything to do with the rate at which I gain individual points in skills? Will random monsters and people be tuned at my level 1 even though my guy may technically have enough xp to be level 5? When I'm on the load screen, it says my guy is level 1 even though I'm probably about 3 by now due to some skillups. Basically, if I never do the "level up" to gain mana/health/stamina, am I still always gonna be level 1 for all intents and purposes?

Enemies will tune to that level. I started a pure two hand/block/heavy armour char. which is loving hard to gain in and I did this. I had enough exp. to go to level 12, but I stayed at one and the game wasn't stupidly easy, but close. Once I leveled, everything literally started laughing in my face. I regularly spend a night recouping from the surprise sex fests I'm subject too now.

As for the easier skill gain. I don't know, but it seems like it did progress easier at lower levels. May be wishful thinking. I hope not, or I'll end up re-rolling ANOTHER char.

I kept my dude level 1 and am working on all kinds of poo poo. I feel like if I just putz around and don't trigger the dragons yet then I can handle poo poo ok. Maybe I will chill around bleak falls and kill those guys, then just make the rounds at various merchants and level my tradeskills up and kill whatever stuff I find before I level. This way I can use a variety of skills and kill stuff then pick what I really want to put talents into at some later point. I can also get a ton of skills up and save one save as a template for other characters. I wonder how feasible it would be to get to 100 blacksmithing/enchanting/alchemy all at level 1. It would own. I am vowing to do it legit though. I've made money making potions so far. All my last saves I used the merchant money glitch to get my money back from them. I will try to steal my gold back at any point that I train though, because that poo poo is expensive. Can only train 5 times at level 1 anyways and I already did it

My favorite thing was I fast traveled, killed a dragon at a shrine, another dragon showed up, I started shooting him and suddenly a bear up on a cliff aggros the dragon, and the cave bear kills him while I'm running to the dragon. The BEAR hosed the dragon up. WTF

Breezehome is boring as gently caress. Where can I get something with alot of armor/weapon holders and book cases? Preferably an enchanting table or alchemy too. Also good lighting.

The Riften one is pretty nice. It's on the right side from Riften's entrance, and you can access it through the backgate. Inside, there's an enchanting table, alchemy table and 3 weapon display and 2 mannequins. There's a garden outside with food and a ton of alchemy plants and chickens. And you get a back porch which opens up into Skyrim with a tanning rack.

The only thing stopping me from moving there is that there's no smelter nearby and that the basement (which contains the enchanting and alchemy tables) has zilch storage.

I've put most of my perks into archery and thinks like sneak, pickpocket, lockpicking and a bit of smithing and enchanting. I haven't bought a whole lot of one handed or light armour perks and it seems like now at level 31 every cave I enter is full of 50% enemies I can one shot with a sneak attack and 50% enemies who will kill me in a matter of seconds unless I spend half the fight in the menu using potions and poisons. I haven't even looked at the difficulty slider yet.

Something else I just though of though, does the game expect you to have a housecarl? Lydia died and I haven't replaced her because she just ran around ruining my sneak attacks and getting in the way of my arrows. I do miss having a mule though.

When you notice this happening, dump a perk point into 1H +damage. It really makes a difference. Do some smithing too. No reason to put perks in it, just upgrading to exquisite makes for a nice weapon.

It'd be hilarious to do a street fighter playthrough using unarmed/destruction.
