drat, that's gross. Good luck with your project though. Every single nut and bolt on my 91 Eclipse was stripped and rusted to hell and back, so good luck with that too. That being said, I have a weird love/hate relationship with DSMs and considering I don't have $10,000 to spend fixing one to be actually drivable, I will be living vicariously through you and this thread.

When I sold my 1G Eclipse the body was rusted through in several spots, the rear end of the frame was rusted out and fell apart to the touch and whenever I tried to unbolt something the bolt would inevitably snap in half. I'd love a 1G GSX but I'm going to have to pay a premium to find one in New England that isn't a total rust bucket. I feel your pain.

1991 DSMs are my favorite year. Last year of the pop-up headlights. And the 1990 had a few different parts from the other 1Gs if I'm not mistaken.
