Maybe the joke is that a "twittercast" of the Masters (esp. on Thursday) is about the only thing more boring/pointless than watching it on TV. Or, why would someone rely on Twitter for golf commentary anyway, especially since it's a game dominated by old white dudes? I say this as a golfer who appreciates that watching golf can be interesting/exciting at times.
