I suppose if you somehow completely run out of corrupt sand you can just spread corruption on hallow sand and then purify it. Garfu fucked around with this message at Dec 7, 2011 around 01:40 |

even if that's the case, just go hit up a corrupted desert with some purification powder OR make some corruption powder, use it on a hallowed desert and then purify it. e: purification powder does transform ebonsand back to sand sand. Does anyone know if the background of a structure can spread corruption? I redid the lining of my base in gray brick and I really don't want to do the background too.

For what it's worth, the beta TShock builds reintroduced (temporarily, hopefully) the XNA dependencies, so if you are using TShock for ability to run on a Linux server (via Mono), it will not work.

Both this game and Minecraft could benefit from having mobs that actually chew through blocks. Not like creepers which just jihad bomb you, more like a mole that slowly bites his way through things and tunnels towards you. They'd be especially dangerous in terraria, imagine one of them burrows through a small water cavern above you and dumps the entire thing into your small tunnel. There could even be different tiers of them, like corrupt moles which can chew through stone and hellmoles which can chew through anything.

Sadly I don't think there's a way to purify hallowed/corrupt blocks without placing them and throwing the appropriate powder at them. Or Hallow/Corrupt them, I'd like to turn some of my barrel of sand into Pearlsand to make more Pearlstone Blocks. edit: Felk posted:I beat the Destroyer first mainly using Adamantite Repeater and Hellfire Arrows, and then used 20 of his souls to make the Megashark. Does killing the Wall immediately activate hard mode, or do you have to smash a Demon Altar first? I know activating hard mode creates an area of Hallow, but does it create new corruption as well? My current map has all the corruption on the left half of the map, and I'd prefer to keep it that way if I can.

Is there a limit to how much loot can be on the screen at one time? I set up a little lava pit goldfish farm, and whether I let it run for 3 minutes or 10 minutes, I always pick up about 203 goldfish.

Hmm, I was under the assumption that the fragments from the bullets all hit one eye, due to their large size. Maybe cursed bullets are better, I never really got around to comparing them.

robziel posted:It's a good idea in theory but in practice enh not so much. I would hate to log into my server and find out that everything we had build had been eaten away while we where at work or sleeping. Enemies only spawn near the player and won't spawn at all if no one is present. In fact if you run a server locally on your machine and look at it, it won't even save if no one connects or changes anything since it stays in the same state the whole time. Corruption and Hallow will still spread but it doesn't seem to track it and save unless a player joins and does something. Another easy quick fix would make it so that the mole enemies wouldn't be able to go above 0 meters. If you want to have an underground base then just make sure you have a bunch of NPCs and you take caution on blood moons I guess. Not that it's a particularly fantastic idea but it's certainly not the most unreasonable thing when there are already enemies that can destroy your structures (loving clowns).

He does take up an enemy spawn slot though, so if you're ignoring/being chased by a huge horde of bats or something he can't spawn.

What kinds of materials will stop the hard mode biomes from spreading into my castle? I'm guessing anything manmade, as opposed to stuff found in nature (stone/gold/silver bricks, wood vs. dirt/clay/mud)? Just trying to plan out my base before killing the wall of flesh so I don't end up scrambling to rebuild everything. Edit: following up that question, if I wanted to make a greenhouse for alchemy materials, if I made the base grey brick and wall everything up, dirt inside should remain intact, right?

Finally got around to beating the Eye but it didn't drop enough Demonite to make the Pickaxe. Should I save my ore and spawn another Eye or should I craft the Sword, Axe, or Bow now (the only Demonite gear I can afford)?

You can't make a pickaxe from the Eye, because you need shadow scales from the Eater of Worlds. [edit]Just make an axe and, depending on how much demonite you got, any other weapon. The Eater of Worlds' various parts, even if you don't kill it completely, drop heaps of ore and scales. Beating the Eye does get you the dryad though, which in turn gets you purification powder, which in turn makes it easy to get to the shadow orbs, so long as you don't want to blow the poo poo out of them with dynamite. The pickaxe requires shadow scales, which you can get by killing the eater of worlds. Make the axe or bow, IMO the sword just isn't as good as those two.

You do want to make the sword eventually though, as it's one of the four required to make night's edge, which is basically the best weapon you can have going into hard mode unless you get something nice from the wall.

It also kind of sucks that you can't place items directly from your inventory with autopause on. I guess for testing it's clear their team doesn't really use it, since it's had glitches since it first was available (for instance, lava particle effects stacking up).

My god is the Destroyer easy as cake. Hunt a Mimic for a Cross Pendant, go to the Jungle for a Mana Flower (reforge both for Warding since they're super cheap) then buy a ton of Greather Mana Potions, grapple self to a wall, click Cursed Flames, buff self with potions then summon. Hold down mouse1, you win. Naturally the better armor you have the better this works (I had a hilarious cobalt boots/adamant helm/mythril plate disjunction going on) but this takes me back a patch or two where you could curbstomp the Eater seven different ways. nftyw fucked around with this message at Dec 7, 2011 around 07:08 |
