Dual-Wielding v.2 has been released. You can find as an attachment on the TSoRC thread over at TerrariaOnline. Apparently it's pretty close to crash free, so if you're experiencing crashes due to dual-wielding, it couldn't hurt to update.

Did you find the crystal shards in a chest someplace, or did you just knock down the crystals scattered everywhere with your hammer? I wasnt sure if harvesting entities like that was allowed, it didnt really specify in the rules. Also this mod is so good. Terraria's gameplay actually holds up pretty well when suplemented with a custom map and a few alterations like this.

Yes. But if you mess up the order (as I did) you can't do them at once. So I just did them one after the other. Ah, well.

I don't feel like I really got anything other than normal boss loot for that fight, did you get some special drop? It seemed to be implied by the sign, it might've just meant the demonite/shadow scales and the provided shadow armour though.

Yeah, the stuff you mentioned and the mass of souls the dual bosses drop is the main attraction. In a way, everything past the cloud in a bottle is an optional quest, since that's all you need to progress. But the extra stuff sure doesn't hurt.

Considering how much the next area's have been punching me in the dick, yes, yes id say extra stuff does not hurt your chances at all. Only one bug so far to note, i found the side quest with the goblin army, triggered it, had the "Incoming from the west!" alerts a few times, it arrived aaaand... nothing. ARGH, found something irritating. Dont gently caress around with the bones in the chest, you need all 30 to create the lure if you mess up. Man, dungeon 3 is pretty rough. Anything related to the jungle usually is though. It doesn't help that it requires fairly precise grappling, something I'm absolutely terrible at. I'm still looking forward to what's probably going to be one of the new modded-in bosses though. Currently playing mostly as a warrior, full dark-enhanced demonite armor set, with dual yian blades so that I can slash through anything. Earlier in the game, I'm pretty sure I did some accidental sequence breaking due to missing the jump right before the first EoW area and instead proceeding downwards anyways. I also managed to grab a chest I'm definitely sure I wasn't supposed to via the usage of a featherfall potion you can find in a chest somewhere. I'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to be there yet because it contained a handgun and like 200 stars. Although it's probably grabbable now that I have the grappling hook so I didn't sequence break that TOO hard.

What are some good content mods (if any) that can be played in Multiplayer? Me and a friend want to run through the game together and I wanted to spice the game up a bit. If it matters at all, I'm just using the simple command prompt server tool that's in the game's files to set our server up.

I'm kind of stuck in the Earth temple, there's this one tunnel I can't get through because a dungeon guardian spawns and instakills me, and I'm pretty sure I've explored everywhere else I can get to. What am I missing? Am I actually supposed to be able to kill that thing?

It doesn't really tell you anywhere in the main game, but in the readme file it mentions that sticky bombs can be used on one tile wide walls, much like bombable walls in any Legend of Zelda game. Try looking for walls thin enough for you to bomb.

So I'm inside the Volcano now, apart from having one of the coolest mechanics I never thought they could implement in it, I think I've cleared the place out completely. There was no boss or anything and I haven't found any improvement to mobility except gravity potions in a chest near a walled off portion of the Hallowed Caverns, which I can't access yet, and the gravity potions don't seem to work anyways, atleast not in the underground jungle. Did I miss something? Also I don't think having a Red Phasesaber that does 50+ damage in a chest in the volcano was intentional, because since I found that the entire level has been a joke.

Did you craft the Phasesaber? I know I found phaseBLADES in there and accidentally crafted the saber before realizing you're only supposed to craft basic ammo and torches and stuff, not weapons like that. The idea is that you can only Soul-craft powerful things, not craft any old weapon you find yourself having the materials for. Because yeah, that weapon is crazy powerful for that point in the game and I made the same mistake you did.

That's really odd because I found the red and yellow ones as well but then I had to physically go and craft the red Saber. It was at that point I realized that I was not supposed to have a weapon that powerful at that point.

Actually, according to the developer in the thread about it on the Terraria forums, it's okay to make the ivy whip so long as you waited until the appropriate time to get your grappling hook.

He made that basically impossible to craft, he could've done that to other things.

You can craft pretty much whatever you want unless the item says ON it "Don't craft me". On the topic of crafting things, upgrade the Spectre Boots. It owns. vv: You straight up get the Spectre Boots, don't need to craft them. Bam, Wall of Flesh killed. I ran into a bug that's beneficial to me, but probably not good for the atmosphere. Somehow, when my Phoenix Down triggered, it didn't stop working. I think the other effects are gone, but whenever I die I just respawn in the same place. In other news, the Phazon Blaster is goddamn amazing. Gonna go into the first Hard Mode dungeon tomorrow, see what happens. I'm really sure I'm missing a hell of a lot of stuff, but I've been finding enough to be happy. I'm especially sure I'm missing a lot of stuff in the Forgotten Citadel, because loving hell that place is way too big and way too confusing. Oh, and has anyone that has gotten further managed to get another fiery greatsword/blade of grass? I made the standard upgrade versions of them, and completely forgot that the four-sword-fusion could have an upgrade version. I still have a spare Light's Bane and Starfury, I just need those two.

But outside of that, I haven't seen any extras yet. Found the shadow key I was asking about earlier, it's in the Wyvern Castle above the Cobalt Gate Dungeon. In other news, in one dungeon they give you enough bars to craft a full suit of armour but if you just explore outside that dungeon a bit you can find a full suit of the next tier up \o/.

Oh man just got the shadow key. And I cannot remember for the life of me where most shadow chests are. Awesome. I would consider not bothering, but I did a sweep of the Earth Temple since it's fairly small and easy to remember, and got some pretty significant items, so I'm really on the fence about checking the other zones. I'm especially not looking forward to backtracking through the Corruption Spire. That place always gets me beyond lost.

The mod seems to just lose itself for me after you go into Hardcore mode. There's plenty of ridiculous bullshitty things that start happening like a 30k health teleporting caster boss that tracks you down everywhere whenever a blood moon pops up, easily dealing 150+ damage to a yet-hardcore armored player, at which point your only choice is to stash your dark souls in a chest and die it out until daytime hits. The worst part is that even if you get close to killing him, he speeds up to the point that he'll just teleport-dash into you continuously until you're dead. Going back and looking for all the hidden shadow chests is also a humongous pain in the rear end, but I feel that's my only option if I hope to survive at this point. Maybe I should've have waited out on getting into hardcore mode and just gotten the key first, which is totally doable with the grappling hook and spectre boots you get at the end of the jungle, you just need to fly up the east mountain and enter the wyvern temple Office Thug fucked around with this message at Jun 16, 2012 around 17:53 |

Craft a silver watch with some souls to make the items that change the time of day. Stash it in your safe. That'll avoid the massive stinkyhole coming along and insta-ganking you when you teleport back to town without realising/forgetting its a blood moon. Im at hardcore and not suffering too much. just defeated The Fury, second new boss and much more interesting then the wyvern was! Discovered something abit offputting tho', a sign at the top of the icy mountain the one where The Adventurer is that's completely blank. So that gigantic pit between Corruption Temple and the Earth Temple. After defeating the Devourer of Worlds I thought about jumping down but there seems to be a HUGE area still underneath the Corruption Temple. I don't know if it was an oversight but you can definitely survive the fall with all the clouds in bottles that are thrown at you, or if you manage to land in the small pool on the left side. Would going down be the bad kind of sequence breaking or is this map open enough that it's totally okay to explore wherever, whenever? Also wow the area for that fight was the worst. Enemies spawning in and awful tiny tunnels and ugh.

Well, after I've beaten the two Eaters of Worlds in the flooded cavern, is that it? There doesn't seem to be a way out of the room short of teleporting out. The navigable passageways above that room take me to chests or a drop into the volcano. Should I just go back to town and head off in another direction?
