I found two handguns in the dungeon, but one is a superior handgun. If I use it to make a phoenix blaster, the characteristic of the handgun won't carry over will it? Because I'll sell that one and use the regular handgun if that's the case.

All mimics you run into are the same except in appearance. A highway through hell is not a bad method of finding them.

It's a shame he probably just took it from a single image, if the statue had no cutoffs it would be glorious and an actual statue.

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to get one or two more source images and just go off that. That particular pose and angle were really common in DBZ, if I'm referencing my decade-old memories of the show right.

The repeaters are slightly worse, but combined with the Archery Potions become dramatically better. So it's up to you if you want to deal with the hassle of keeping a supply. It is also notably easier to get repeaters compared to the guns if you didn't get a clockwork rifle from the Wall kill.

Ah. Never thought about doing that, but I assume that's along the same lines of just creating a new player? Or is there another scenario where you would want to clear your inventory?

I have a "New" player button already included if that's what you are going for.

Basically, I'd like to save appearances for new characters in order to skip character creation, like the old Hardcore. Maybe my request is backwards.

Wow, it seems reforging is completely impractical unless you've already broken the game. It costs an astronomical amount for such a tiny effect. I could see if you want to fix something below-normal, but I can't think of any interesting ways to make money fast enough for improvements to not be stupid. I could idle under a fish generator while I alt-tab to something more interesting, but then I could just skip the BS and cheat the prefixes in (you can do that, right?). If the game could guarantee improvements for a greater fee, then we'd be onto something.

Well I picked up 150+ plat somewhere in a frost legion attack on a multiplayer server (I think someone else dropped it but no-one claimed it). I've reforged all my accessories to the highest levels of various attributes and I still have at least 100 plat left muahaha.

My advice to you is to farm normal mode bosses for demonite to sell, EoW is a piece of cake eventually and you're not restricted to a night so you could just make a shitload of Worm Foods and kill him over and over. Once you can hit for 150 damage consistently you can kill him on his first pass.

^^^ The Terraria Forums devolved into a racism arguement within the first page, all because of the arms dealer's gold tooth ^^^

Well this looks quite interesting. On the main page of TerrariaOnline.com:

quote:

Today's feature introduces developers to TehModAPI, a Modding API for Terraria coded in C# by iPie uDie.

Current API Features List:
- Allowance of multiple mods at the same time
- Access to a custom settings screen to allow changing of bool's and ints and the activation of certain processes through an interactive menu.
- Pre and Post update runners
- Ability to draw on the Underlay(World) or Overlay(Interface) when drawing sprites and string.
- Mouse Handling done by the API
- Command Handling done by the API, implement 1 method for single and 1 for multiplayer to handle commands executed(Pre formatted by the API)
- A toolkit class containing general methods which may be useful to any mod, such as altaring the world, drawing centered text, etc.

I'm not sure, is this a 3rd party API they're adopting or was it something Redigit had organised?

So my brother and I have about 20 or 30 Shadow Orbs in one area of the map, none of the orbs are more than 20 blocks or so from each other. There are also about 6 or 7 demon altar thingies in that area.

That's pretty unusual right?

Having 20 orbs in a tight cluster, assuming you aren't exaggerating, is very unusual. However, corrupt zones usually have a cluster of 5-10 altars at one spot in the horizontal connecting shaft.

Oh excellent! They've fixed all the major bugs and the new commands work properly, so now running my adventure map server will be vastly, vastly simpler.

Still cranking that map out (playtesting takes foreverrrrrrrrrrr)

edit: There's actually a decent modding community for Terraria, I just stumbled upon this mod and it looks pretty interesting:

cMod for Terraria

Video of it here

quote:

Some Keyfeatures

about 130 new items (Some are testitems)
about 110 new recipes
physical Pipelines for water. Transport at will =O
Shooter that fire projectiles automatically. Currently only used for Fishy Frog Fountains to shoot waterdrops that transport water. More are comming like the Bullet Bill
Ingame Credits for texture/recolor authors.
A hunger system. Currently only as system with testfood but later with recipes and foooood. But beware, Hungry is bad but Pigged Out too ;-)
Falling Damage mechanic changed a bit. It does ignore your armor now and also adds a Leg Injury debuff depending on your taken damage.
Changed the way how item stats and buffs/debuffs get applied. Now they multiply with each other instead of summing up.
Added a completely new Vanity Itemslot with Testitems for Sprite Artist. They contain 20 Frames with each 100 x 100 pixel size. Make Wings, Tails, Auras etc now! Check out the Clothier for them (Testitems).
Added a few new Town NPCs so you arent lonely anymore. One even sells ores!
most Melee weapons and all Consumables have a Drawn style now once selected.
Added Gravity to players. Now jump higher and get less falling damage while under low gravity effects.
Added health- and manaleech. All NPCs now leech 15% hp so beware and play more carefull now. May you get a new Vampiric item too?
Ambushes. Sometimes they just like to attack, nobody knows why. But they DO!
Changed the way how itemstats get displayed. Now you see the actual bonus ingame. Same for debuffs that get applied from weapons.
Removed/changed a few stat caps. Now you cangain negative defense (take more damage) and run faster for instance.
Worm AI NPCs now have a very little chance to increase their size drastically.
extended holdStyles for items, now you see where you are pointing that gun

Why, yes, I do like Kirby games.

I understand there's a bug that allows the production of infinite water by pumping it into the same reservoir it's being pumped from. Has this bug been fixed, or am I doing something wrong? Because I built this...

...to keep the area I'm growing my water plants in fully moistened, and it doesn't seem to be doing the trick.

Why do I want a pump in the first place? Because for some reason, the water level keeps dropping... does waterleaf actually consume water? Or filling water bottles? Is it something to do with the snow biome?

When in doubt just have your outlet drop water on to a block, it splits and makes 2 blocks of water.

Just an announcement for those of you who don't follow the TEdit github:

I've uploaded some of the new features that are under development to a new branch. This new version uses and embedded xna window for very fast rendering, no more bitmap crashes and opens up new rendering possibilities.

The current status is not yet alpha, as there are no "editing" features yet, other than changing world settings. If you want to try out the rendering and let me know how the speed is, you can check out this branch and compile it. It is dependent on the BCCL library (also on my github) so you might want to get that too.

https://github.com/BinaryConstruct/.../tree/renderxna

If you just want to watch it for updates you can see those here.

https://github.com/BinaryConstruct/...mmits/renderxna

I'll make another announcement when it has editing features.

As of now, I am only dedicating my time to making this version as it will fix most of the existing bugs and maintaining two versions would take more time than I have. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am working on bug fixes, and plan to have a release before too long.

Happy Holidays ,

There's a currently very-annoying problem with tEdit: The new blocks are in but aren't flagged isSolid=1 , so any torches placed on them will disappear when you load it into a game.

Also all the new torches don't save properly, most of the time they'll disappear when you load the map.
