Yeah. I heard the reason is that buyback rates for near mint games in Japan is so good, some people just buy the games, keep them in perfect condition, then sell them as opposed to renting them.

But it's still sweet that they got that impression. Anyway, I bet the PaRappa challenge is going to beat every level with "Cool" rating and unlock the bonus thing. Arino will not be told this until he's spent a few hours beating the game on Easy and Normal. Personally, I've never been able to get "Cool" at all in level 2. Unless there's a simple method to pulling it off and the staff tells him about it, it's gonna be tough.

Moments where Arino says something seemingly innocuous and the staff laughs really loudly has made me realize there's a lot about Japanese humor I don't understand.

I just finished watching the last half of Dig Dug II. Interesting coincidence the highest score he achieved was 51400 (00415 backwards). Not as crazy as the Pac-Man 2 door code being 415, but there you go.

You just need to know what the items do, who can use them, and where each family member's dungeon starts.

The ad was so plain, I think I had assumed it was for an event or something.

I was let down by the Parappa episode because they didn't go for the bigger accomplishment of finishing all stages in Cool-rank and unlocking the bonus stage. Especially given how quickly Arino was able to clear the game. Almost seemed like a cop-out.
