Latest patch improved my framerate a lot, it still chokes here and there when everything is exploding but I'm not seething with rage during every firefight anymore as my game screeches for a halt only for me to wake up dead. Fewer things are as satisfying as watching the enemy hurrdely cram bags in the back of their mini in order to win an item dropoff mission, only for you to plow your gigantic Pioneer 4x4 into them, blowing their mini up and crushing several people unlucky enough to be in your way. All these little moments are why I love playing APB when it's not throwing dinner plates at me

Well, I started the game 2 days ago, and already caved on getting premium for one sole reason: The decal system is awesome. I'm not done with it yet, but it will soon provide the texture for my face and hood of my car. "HEEEEEEEEEEEEE MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!" (come play a very bad game with us)

I'm really enjoying the STAG because it's pretty useful all around. Obviously I haven't done a whole lot, but I tried one of the LMGs and high velocity rifles and didn't really like them. Anyways, I'm Rayjenkins on the enforcers side on Joker. It'd be fun to roll with some people I can actually communicate with and are less likely to be idiotic. One more thing, I'm still getting these terrible texture bugs for players, where they're either super bright purple, mostly invisible save for their hair, eyes, some extraneous items, or some combination of these. This happens with the majority of players for me. I'm using an HD 5970 right now. Update: Fixed the problem. It's common with ATI cards from what I read. Had to change the name of the apb exe to crysis. I've put everything you need into this archive: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/229862/Shaders/Shaders_0301.7z Just unzip into your steamapps/common folder or wherever APB's root folder is. (The first folder in the archive is APB Reloaded) In the Engine/Shaders folder, modify the file called APBUberPostProcessBlendPixelShader.usf in notepad. Line 77 I put a comment to change the numbers to whatever screen resolution you play in. It's currently 1440x900. Doing a Ctrl+F for 1440 will find the values.

Our cards have two GPUs on one PCB, and they are using on-card Crossfire to bridge them. The "fix" with renaming the exe to crysis isn't really a fix at all it just tricks CCC into loading a different Crossfire profile, namely that for Crysis. What this does is actually turn off one of the GPUs on your card, hammering your performance into the grave. I'm just dealing with it (and getting shot by invisible players once in a while but whatever) rather than taking the performance hit. :/

To be honest though, I'm not suffering any real substantial loss in performance, and I'm running the game at max settings (except for AA). I do notice that it takes much longer for player models to switch from their placeholders to their actual attire in the social district, but I don't really care about that. Thanks for shedding some more light on this, hopefully an actual fix will come about.

Two goons vs Tboo and friends. That poo poo was hysterical. We were guarding one area and they kept climbing up the same loving ladder behind it even when we were just sitting up there ignoring the point and mowing them down one after the other. Overall a short game and we should have let them get the point to prolong the asskicking. How they are silver is beyond me. edit Actually that's us around the 23 minutes mark in the stream. Also I think they changed the width of the stairs up to simeone's roof  So that you can longer block it off to grief an entire instance. Unless you could get a Pioneer up there. So, given how impulsive I am, buying 4 more Joker boxes was an inevitability. I got a Whisper 3-day lease with my first box that I bought with my leftover funbux when the boxes came out, which was alright (I'm not a close range combatant so it barely saw any use) so I decided to see if I could grab a few more to maybe boost my premium. I really, really wanted the Sitting Duck for one specific reason, but I knew it was extremely unlikely that I was going to ge-  Oh gently caress me I pretty much did a jig. Now my Officer Buzzworth costume is finally complete  From a total of five boxes, I got a pernament scout that perfectly matches one of my oldest outfits ever since RTW beta, +15 days on my CR5 (Which was already used for 15 days, effectively refreshing my lease), and another +5 days to premium, all for less than 500g1c? Grinning from ear to ear here. The Whisper and CSG are interesting to tool around with but don't suit my playstyle at all, but gently caress me everything else is perfectly awesome.
