FYI the Cel shaders I posted above, it replaces your current Shaders folder, not overwriting the current files. Rename your current Shaders folder to Shaders.old or something for if you want to switch back. Also if you have Depth of Field and Bloom disabled in APBMachineOptions.ini the effects won't work.

Right, with that I renewed my CR5, my DMR-AV, bought four more Joker 2 boxes (Resulting in 40 days worth of a 3-slotted Obeya and two lovely 3-day lease guns), bought the Vaquero body kit, wheel and sound kit, and also the Moirai wheel kit. Oh Gamersfirst. You're going to drive me to ruin

I'm trying so hard to not buy stuff... But seeing as it's relatively cheap I might give in and get premium and a car kit, spend the leftovers on joker boxes... Edit: how do you turn depth of field off? It always annoyed me. I'm assuming I just stick DepthOfField=False in APBMachineOptions.ini? Had an awesome time griefing this game. Get 2 criminal accounts running and use player owned vans to block the entrances to a spawn point. People will be stuck inside and rage due to being unable to participate in their automatically given missions.

Broose posted:Has anyone released any details on how well Reloaded is doing? I'm kinda interested in hearing how it is doing after the spectacular failure of RTW APB. Well enough to be turning a profit and with enough of a playerbase to give them enough reason to make an update which adds significant changes to the game. RTW died on its arse for a very good reason, not only was the project completely mishandled and basically DOA when it did hit, it took them forever to introduce the most basic poo poo like recoil, decent weapon sounds and much needed weapon balance. They were going to implement other poo poo into the game to make it more playable but it died before they could even be considered. I remember running out of gametime a week or two before it collapsed, on doing a /pop you'd be lucky to have 400 - 700 people playing at the best of times. These days a /pop in my server, Obeya, will get you within the region of 3,400 people playing which is actually very good for one of the more lower population servers in the game. They've recently opened up Chinese(?) and Russian servers which have been fetching good population counts too. APB: Reloaded seems to be in a pretty healthy state at the moment and I wouldn't be suprised if it's generating G1 a pretty penny considering the rate that vehicle kits and pernament weapons sell at. Despite RTW APB's infamous history which soured many people on the game, I would call G1 APB a very solid game. It's not perfect, it's still completely impenetrable and unforgiving for new players, especially for those poor bastards who are playing on their own, but if you're running with a clan of established players who spend time communicating and helping each other out I can honestly say it's a very fun and unique game. This is why I get frustrated when people complain about a minor change G1 has made and say they wish they were playing RTW APB again. There's rose tinted glasses and then there's being completeky delusional, being forced to pay for gametime only to face endless streams of hackers who could play without being punished, while driving a car that handles exactly the same as every other car and being plinked by an N-TEC which is perfect at every single range, was not a fun experience in any stretch of the imagination. There are still hackers but at least they're relatively in the minority, for a F2P game people could do a hell of a lot worse. Broose posted:Has anyone released any details on how well Reloaded is doing? I'm kinda interested in hearing how it is doing after the spectacular failure of RTW APB. Well, it's a free shooter now. Those are always fairly popular no matter what. In Joker if you do /pop, you're going to see a lot of players, far more than when I stopped playing RTW APB. And if you know anything about F2P games, you know they can be more profitable than subscription based games on a per-player basis. Plus G1 isn't terrible so the game has improved drastically. I'd give more credit to Reloaded Productions than G1. All G1 do is publish it and handle the cash shop I guess.. RP are the people who are actively working on improving the game, and have done so much to that effect too! I like those guys a hell of a lot. G1 are kinda sucky though.

I will say that G1 is incredibly lucky to have gotten their hands on APB when it was cheaper than a box of raisins, though. You can say what you like about RTW APB's gameplay, but ignoring that, the game is actually incredibly impressive on a technical level. Consider that each instance has to keep track of 100 players, around 50 vehicles (I can't remember if this includes player spawned vehicles, but I don't think so), it has to stream player customisations for all the clothes, vehicles and sprays, it has a built in art and music creator, it handles physics and most of the weapon dynamics server-side and it needs to be able to do this all at a rate that allows players to remain competitive and you have a game that handles more poo poo than most games could ever dream of doing. Even though RTW's gameplay was bad, even if it was at a decent standard they'd have an impossibly hard time recuperating the costs of actually making the game. I was overjoyed to hear that some other company had snatched up the game, but not knowing anything about G1 I was skeptical that they'd make it a super furry/anime game and start charging you real money on a per bullet basis. Credit where it's due, then, that Reloaded Productions has done an absolutely fantastic job at taking the bleeding wrecked of APB and reforging it into something that's legitimately fun to play. There are still a lot of people who, when told that they have to play in a reliable group to have fun, say "Well that's the same for all games IDIOT" but they're completely missing the point. APB more than any other game I can think of on the market ensures that for the most part, the team with the most cohesive communication and balanced weapon loadout with specialists for each different occasion will always have a huge advantage. Teamwork factors so heavily into whether you'll stomp people or die on your arse that it's pratcially unavoidable, and I like that. Being able to run off solo and murder people without batting an eyelid is viable in every single other game and it just feels kind of dull if you know your teammates are doing nothing but slowing you down. I'm not saying that you couldn't run off in APB: R and murder everyone, it's just that compared to most games you'll have a much harder time of it. Having a good team and knowing your allies just as well as you know your enemies is what makes this game feel so different for me.

Yeah, but Reloaded Productions is a subsidiary of G1 so ultimately it's G1 that decides the direction the game should head towards. They aren't the best but the fact that they've improved the game so much and didn't butcher it into a terrible F2P title shows that they aren't so bad either.

For what it's worth, the current CEO of G1, Bjorn Book-Larsson aka TechMech, was originally just another member of Reloaded Productions and he also played a fundamental part in laying down the groundwork for when G1 acquired APB's IP, including but probably not limited to getting the networking set up and all that grand boring technical biz. So I feel that right now G1 as well as the RP developers should all be receiving credit especially with a guy like Bjorn in charge. That's just my opinion though.

How many people are on the APB G1 team? I never played in RTW days, but it really seems like they've been making the game better and better, if a bit slowly. Having a former dev as your CEO sounds like it would be nice as a designer.

Solus posted:How do I get better weapons than what I have at the moment? Do I just save up cash and buy them? You unlock the basic weapon from various contacts, which will run you about $3000 ingame money to lease for 10 days. Getting kills with a specific weapon type (LMG, assault rifle, etc) will level up that weapon's "role." You can get slotted versions of a weapon for ranks 5, 10, and 15 for a weapon type's role. Slots in weapons can be filled with various things like Hunting Sight, which increases your accuracy in marksman mode, but makes your accuracy while moving around go to poo poo.

You might have trouble with all the adware installs but if youre just doing a shitton of surveys you should be fine. Related, it turns out Avast actually scans files in VMWare even if you dont have it installed in the virtual machine. It ends up blocking half the downloads as malware.
