His ult might be over-nerfed but I think his regular build is still viable, maybe even skipping the ult altogether. He won't have ridiculous farm and level advantage but he can still do well played like a snowball carry such as swiftblade.

If you level your nuke and stun and have full mana at six you can stun in -> nuke ->split -> stun -> nuke -> switch wolf -> stun again, -> nuke again and probably attack them once for the kill

HoN didn't even have a trial version for months after release.

Just tried a regular build and I got murdered, I could never tank them enough to recombine with my ulti. Afterwards I went op stats+ulti build, and I could atleast tank them till I rejoined. Now first game we got stomped, and second game we beat them. So it may skew my perception but I feel gemini just isn't tanky enough without sinking points into stats, especially since I had to try and recombine 4 times in one fight due to VJ bouncing stun while tanking them. Side effect of the "cannot reform while silenced/stunned" means that I won't start 5v5 Team fights in fire and Ice form, it's too risky. Split form is great for fighting 1v1 but single form you know you will be able to get a full volley of normal and split spells in a teamfight . Its a lot harder to interrupt gemini splitting into two than rejoining. Also the status effects will be quicker to get rid of. So where do I sit on this? Something is still not right, your main skills are still being ignored for stats because its still the safer bet. The nerf really did nothing but make him worse , it didn't really balance him at all. I honestly don't know to solve it. Maybe make his skills give some stats as an additional effect, and nerf his stats gain skill, like some sort of skill synergy. Seriously, because it seems like this is 100% a conscious decision on Maliken's part to not adequately market his company's primary (and essentially flagship at this point) product. Or the company is as poorly run as people say. I can't tell because I loved Savage and Savage 2 so S2 gets my money for trying to keep dying genres alive (and then failing at that and switching to DotA set in the Savage universe). I suppose part of it is that no one really thought LoL would get as big as it did, but Riot sure succeeded at making DOTAlikes accessible to people who would never otherwise play DotA. Way more people out there than anyone who thought; a total anecdote, but in my apartment complex parking lot, there was a used League of Legends RIOT bux card flapping around on the ground as visible litter as I walked to my car a few weeks ago. It blew my loving mind until I remembered oh yeah, LoL has millions of players with unique logins. My point is that I could understand S2 scoffing at the Riot model of F2P and then finding out (way too late) that S2's system was the one that should have been laughed at. I mean really, anyone looking at DotA and trying to make it more accessible as well as a way to make money should have realized people literally stole Warcraft III solely to play DotA; adding a $30 barrier is not the way to attract not only those players, but players who are scared of DotA.

I remember pointing out early in open beta that lovely LoL videos regularly get into the top viewed Youtube feeds, and it's kind of silly that S2 does none of that marketing. Looks like they went through the motions and hired a mediocre person or two in this department, but it's still pretty laughable. At this point they seem to be in full on "copy riot" mode, which is kind of silly.

It feels dated. I was definitely wearing rose colored glasses. Games take too long, and while they can be fun, I wish they were over 15-20 minutes before they actually end. Just my 2 cents. DotA2 actually made me play HoN again, a game I hadn't played in months.

I mean, I dunno. I'm speaking from personal experience here - I've never been able to pull a double allnighter ever in my life. The first night is doable, gets a LOT better once it's 7 or 8 AM and your body clock is like "Yeah, you're awake now", but after that I just pass out several hours before my bedtime. On top of that, Milkfat is playing constantly throughout this whole experience. He's not spending half his time goofing off or spacing out, he has to stay focused on HoN the whole time and make an action every 7 seconds at the very minimum. That can become very mentally taxing.
