So I have been challenged by a work friend to clean 3 plates tomorrow. So a day after saying in your log cleans are gay im going to foolishly put forth a lot of effort at them (well at least one workout)

I totes wanna see video of max weight but To improve: * Get a loving massive arch, I know you can do way better than what you did. Prepare for your lower back to hurt on bench days. I thought I was arching a lot and then I saw this video and copied the setup and got an instant 10lb pr but I could only do 1 rep bc my lower back hurt so much. http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/node/17617 Splitting your legs like that or not is up to you but her setup is golden. To try out: * Hard to be sure from video/arm-length but I think if you could tuck a bit more it would pay dividends over time. Your shoulders are strong and bench will continue to go up even if you don't do this but I think this would help. Maybe just do your downsets like the 295 close-grip, or closer-grip or just do close grip every once in a while. I would give 2-board close grip a spin for a heavy day as I think that would be a moneymaker for you. If the spot above my elbows hurts the next day I know I hit tris correctly. * After getting arch try throughout the whole lift to press your heel into the ground even though you are on your toes, might feel more locked-in.

Dont have any videos of my redic setup but ill try to get some next bench day. """ Squeeze your shoulder blades together as tight as you can. And keep them tight. Then I dig my traps into the bench as good as I can. Then you want to drive with your legs and force your body back into your neck that's on the bench forcing you to arch up as high as you can. You want to try and get up as high on your neck as possible. """ That is good advice. I forgot to mention it is impossible for me to get a good arch on slippery commercial gym benches, my solution was to add some duct tape where my traps dig in. You can also get one of those car dashboard mats like this and lay it on the bench http://www.amazon.com/Non-slip-Dash...r/dp/B000P910W8 Once you get into the super cheater arch you will never want to go back

Schroedinger posted:MAH BOYFRAN has struggled a lot with bench, and doing speed bench work to hammer in his technique and consistency and focusing on really tucking in his arms helped. Like flexing the lats and thinking of bringing the bar down as almost a reverse row to load up the back. Hopefully libberlibber can confirm/deny? Speed work useless IMO, form work useful. I try and make my tris rub against my lats as I bench, unless its loaded up with weight the bar can't actually go down anymore because it is in contact w/lats. I am no bench expert though, I dont know poo poo just what has happened to work for me. Looking forward to video of superMegaArch in the future

not reading all those posts but if you flex your tri when getting setup for deadlifts you greatly reduce the (pretty small for powerlifters) chance of bi tear from deadlift, the problem is when one tries to use their bicep to lift the weight (even a little bit) during deadlifting.

hey that bench setup looks good and yeah paused benching is exactly what I would recommend to get stronger at the bottom. The goal should be 5lbs spread between paused and non paused bench

lol @ all singlets. It is unlikely it will matter but technically you cant wear wrestling singlets and have to wear powerlifting singlets, the difference being pl singlets have shorter leg, uh, sleeves or whatever. Some feds are anal about this. Best place to get them is http://andersonpowerlifting.com/

A little bit goes a long way, usually do 3 x 10 in each of the 4 directions with harness on and a 10lb weight. COC grippers own, if I could close the 3 I would die happy
