ThatPazuzu posted:Where is ball made of smaller balls from? I posted it on the previous page. It was from Luna's hunt for Celesto last year. Also, all this revised artwork is making me want to see writers and artists from this thread pick a story arc from DD and completely remake it into something good. I can't with good conscience ask people to commit time and energy to something related to this abysmal comic, though.

It was gonna involve tentacles or something, but I needed more than just that. What works for me with stuff like this is drawing normal human limbs, and then working out how to distort from there.

I'm somewhat tempted by the idea of re-working one of his storylines but I really don't want to have to read the drat comic myself to do it. There's only so much punishment I can take. Plus I've got a ton of uni work and my art verges on the side of inconsistency more often than not. I'm not a bad artist I just tend to put myself down to much to work. But If someone is willing to suggest a single strip I can try my hand at improving it. Art Dialog and all. God help me.

BlackArtistik's emphasizes the power and strength of the chaos Celesto is trying to control, but DoodleMoogle's is all about the ultimately corrupting and degenerating effect of chaos. Or maybe they could be the same Celesto, only showing different stages of his corruption? At first he's using the chaos to gain more strength, and when he's all spent, it's clear that using chaos has stripped away a large part of his vitality and sanity... Anyway, two fantastic interpretations of one character that both express a thousand times more character and imagination than Mookster's scribbles ever could. Now both of you should do reimaginations of other Deegan characters as well and never ever stop CAT ASS now!!! fucked around with this message at Feb 21, 2012 around 22:37 |

Nor has any artist tried to actually portray the heroes as sympathetic or interesting-looking. Is it such a foregone conclusion that they are completely beyond redemption? Or can they actually be made to look vulnerable without being weak, knowledgable without being infallible? It was always my thought that Deegan should be portrayed as some kind of veteran seer, completely embittered by the loss of his leg and using his sight either as a euphoric escape into somewhere else entirely or just completely spiteful of it and how it failed to keep him from losing his appendage (though I think a missing arm would be better). Luna's relationship to him should be the inverse of what it is. She should be the one continually trying to figure things out, either coping with her deformity or trying to make society do it while Deegan is the weak one. But he has the sight and she needs him for something and maybe she sees a bit of herself in him and wants to save them both by carving out a future in a society that loathes them. Then I realized I was thinking about this and I wept silently.
