Tody: Work: gah. my knees hurt. it was busy. Clories: 2240, 170g protein Weight: 168 I am so hungry all the time. Sometimes it is stress but sometimes I am legit hungry. I dunno. Maybe I am just dehydrated? That would probably give me tunnel vision, huh. I try to drink lots of water all day. Food: Pre-workout: double fiber english muffin + 1 T PB Post-workout: protein shake + 1 T PB Breakfast: 3 egg scramble (mushroom, green pepper, sausage) in butter Dinner: Chicken black bean chili + cornbread + 1 red pepper + 1 oz almonds After work snack: 3 c broccoli, 1.5 c greek yogurt with honey/cinnamon I guess I'll feel good bout eating healthy things even if I'm a bit over my calorie goal. I dunno. I've lost weight eating ~2400 calories before, when I've been real active. The scale has been heading back down so I'm encouraged (it went up to 171, oops!). Or maybe I will just aim higher on workout days and lower on other days? Exhaaaaausted. Time for a hot shower and a comfy bed.

I need my gears! Trying to figure out the gym situation at OHSU... Priorities, am I right?e: Looks like a pretty fancy gym, awesome. They don't have lots of pictures, but I found one pic that has 2 power racks in it (and women lifting in them), so that is at least as good as the Y. Hours are better, too. Also, included in tuition, so that is a bonus. Think I'll take a trip up to Portland in the next month or so to check things out.... Now I m getting excited!

And that there aren't a ton of jobs (except for fanp's! Lucky!) because they were all unemployed webcomic artists. But they extolled the virtues of their pot.

WO - W4D1 Bench 55x5 70x5 85x5 95x5 110x5 eeeeeuuuuuurrrggghghhhh Squat 65x5 85x5 95x5 110x5 125x5 Row 55x5 65x5 75x5 85x5 95x4+f Hyper 45x10 Pull-ups -34x4,3 Dips -34x4 Oh man, on my last set of bench at 110... the 4th rep was a grind and I went for the 5th rep sans spotter anyways and I got it about 3 inches up and that is where I might fail it and roll it down but I really didn't want to because the gym was full of silly guys and so instead I did not fail the last rep but it took legit like 5 seconds to get it up (I don't know I wasn't actually counting, it felt like an eternity). There was also a guy squatting 315 onto a yoga ball and I was like I wonder if I have tendinitis in my knees. The only time that they DON'T hurt is when I'm squatting heavy(ish). Anyway, it is glorious and sunny so I'm going outside, Y'ALL.

WO! W4D2 Sqwuts 65x5 85x5 95x5 95x5 Deadlifts 95x5 115x5 135x5 155x5 (rep PR) OHP 45x5 50x5 55x5 65x5 Pull-ups -34x5,3 Dips -34x5,4 I got asked not to bang the weights today after my 3rd set of deadlifts. I really didn't know what to say. I said I would try. So my effing 155x5 rep PR was all super-controlled dragging down my legs. And it still bangs, that is what happens when metal touches metal! JFC. At least I am only at this gym for another month and a half or so. Not that I know the next one will be better. Other times that metal touched metal and it was loud: reracking my squats safely reracking my presses safely reracking my plates in a considerate fashion removing my plates after deadlifting in a considerate fashion sorry for being safe and considerate, wear some drat earplugs. rant over. it's a beautiful sunny day and I wish I wasn't working. I'm thinking about going for a run because I just want to be in the sun.

I just think it's weird that they haven't said anything for the last YEAR that I've been lifting. Went for a run, homeys! 2.6 mi, 29 minutes (took 1 min walk break, a couple 10 sec breaks) e: my middle mile was 11 minutes, whaaat? that is a good mile time for me. guess being fit = being fit. First run in like 8 months. Feels good. I love sunshine. I probably should have worn sunscreen and also run a shorter distance, but OH WELL.

[livejournal] Instead of getting up to go to the gym this morning (already a day late), I lay in bed and hit my snooze alarm for 2 hours. I've been coping with stress very poorly lately. And it's kind of bullshit, too, because 2 weeks ago I was like, "I'm so stressed about whether or not I get into nursing school, wah, excuse excuse excuse!" and now that I got in and I have to do lots of stuff and figure out money and moving and immunizations and paperwork I'm like, "I'm so stressed about getting into nursing school, wah wah, excuse excuse excuse." That is total bullshit. Complete and utter bullshit. Bullshit bullshit bullshit. I really need to learn to deal with stress in a productive way instead of being totally counterproductive and getting myself more stressed. Like, doing all my paperwork instead of dissociating and watching TV so I don't have to think about being stressed abotu paperwork. Or going to the gym, which is proven to always make me feel better, instead of eating junk food, which is proven to always make me feel worse. Bleh. Blah blah blah bleh bleh bleh blah blah blah. I'm going to work today, which at the very least will force a schedule on me and some semi-productive distraction. Maybe I'll choose a quit-date today, that would be satisfying. Except it is Saturday so I guess I can't tell admin. Anyway. Last 4 days: Food: terrible Working out: none Productivity: moderately low (I got my drug test/fingerprints/notarizing done) Hermitude: 95% (I've been working hard not to completely shut myself out) Hall and Oates - Out of Touch: on repeat Anyway, catching up with logs makes me want to work out, so I"ll do that before work tomorrow. Bench and squat felt good, those are my most recent 5RMs and they felt easy, so I'm looking forward to going up! I keep failing the last reps on my row. I need to re-read what I'm supposed to do when I can't keep up with the program. Stupid weak row . Also I think I'm getting closer to a real BW pull-up, I need to start doing negatives everywhere. Glad I went to the gym. Ate more cookies last night. Do whatever.

My form feels different on my heavy set than on my warmup sets. I don't know if I am just using my back muscles more or what. It didn't hurt, and my back actually felt better after DLs. I just worry. My weight today was 170. I've eaten horrible food pretty much everyday this week. I don't know why I keep making such bad decisions. Time to turn it around though, I can definitely tell that I am plumping. I don't wanna see how thick, fluffy and jiggly I can get. ![]() Days off work, yay!
