I always pick random but I feel like I win more with Dark Elves. Once you can set up a fully upgraded necromancer, its very hard to lose.

I'm a fan of fully upgraded void monks. If you're facing another dark elf team there's almost nothing they can do short of burning a couple scrolls to kill you before you just heal up by punching guys.

Yeah I used to be scared of wraiths. Recently though, fully upgraded necromancers have been terrifying to face. 3 square attack range, enough wallop to take someone out, and then corpse destruction to deny any chance of a resurrection. Used properly, just one of those bastards can eat the heart of an opposing team.

Everything has the same hp, but they start with 20/20 resistances, while everything else starts with 0/0. I still wouldn't use upgrades on them though, their lack of range makes them significantly more vulnerable.

Tourney update: I beat PaintVagrant 2-1 so I'll be going on to face Bearded Ferret. Our last two games were very close, and very different. In one game I had a big material advantage but was down to one badly damaged crystal. I had to build a wall around it and pick off his suicide bombers as they tried to crack it open. Really tense stuff. The game that just finished had a big slugfest in the middle of the board, I was well ahead at one point but PV clung on tenaciously and I won with just 2 knights left and nothing in the deck. Good times.
