The real delight is in having a dozen or so games running at once, then you get so many incoming turns you can play non-stop if you wish. You are pretty new at this I can tell. You need to save your fireballs for corpse destruction, and the scrolls need to be saved for when you have a specific target in mind. Patience my friend, patience.

GOON TOURNEY UPDATE (2/10/12) 2:30 pmSodomy Non Sapiens posted:Unless we were skipped over for inactivity? I've been skimming the thread though and didn't see our names come up. Bummer. There's no "Sodomy Non Sapiens" in the tourney... There were quite a few others thrown out for non-response, and the default for that is a 1-0 match, so that's probably what happened. I went in and edited out a few players (replacing their names with "out"), then it was a bother to do that so I just made them lose so they were out anyway, and that's another reason why you might be confused. There was a general falling out of people who lost; only perhaps 1/2 kept playing in the "lower" bracket, and that - combined with some people who literally took well over a week, bordering on weeks to play - hosed things up even worse. Then on top of that I went out of town and could't do the "Challonge" (what kind of hosed up name is that?) update from my phone, so I'm sure that caused even more disarray. As far as who came up with the idea to make it random, that was me. I did have a system set up, but people complained that wasn't fair so I told everyone to play random. Obviously that's not fair either. Get used to it - nothing is. As far as letting people edit things themselves in the standings, that would have required everyone getting a "Challonge" account and/or signing in for the tourney, etc. and that would have been a clusterfuck netting perhaps half as many people eventually participating. [insert .gif of Dark Elf with sunglasses coming down from the sky with words "DEAL WITH IT" superimposed on it here] Check out the tourney as it stands HERE and let me know what needs to be updated. I will do my best to fix it.

I, Gowby, have defeated emmcali 2-1 in the hardest fought series of games I have yet played. The first two could have gone either way right down to the end, and in the last one I had the foresight to keep a kitted out necromancer in reserve, which won it for me. Emmcali is def. an amazing opponent, watch out for him! Moving on to my next match in the lower bracket with MonkeyShaman!

I beat Hebug 2-0 in our match, posted that in the thread and then went to check my next opponent and saw I'd been bumped out. If you can find somewhere to slot me back in, swell. If not, don't stress. You're doing a good job managing this many goons and my luck would've run out sooner or later.

I think +1 range looks right. Notice the "compass rose" or "crosshairs" marks every 90 degrees around the blue circle. Looking at the board, it seems designed for the power up square in the center to be able to be attacked / countered by a range 4 unit standing on the blue tile.

Additionally, 2 range units (Clerics, Priests, Harpooners, Ninjas played by idiots) would be able to hit the crystal were that the case. The more I look at it the more i think some crazy games will be had there.

Hi gowb, a friendly reminder to take your turns in our ladder games. You're about half a day from defaulting, which would be sad, since you're the first lower tourney bracket player I've been matched again to take his turns reliably til now. Edit: gowb apparently has a signal device that alerts him when someone mentions his name on the internet. Good luck! Carcharoth fucked around with this message at Feb 15, 2012 around 00:50 |

Tourney update: I defeated gowb 2-0 in the lower bracket. I don't know what the wraith ability they're discussing is. Dwarves look awesome, and the teleporter tile is quite intriguing - stoked to play around with the new options available post-patch!

The trick must be an action you can take with the wraith and survivability, but there's really no action that I can imagine that's gone unexplored. Does anything special happen when you hit a wraith with your own soul bomb?

I just wanted to comment that I retired in both games against MonkeyShaman. I got some horrible draws that were complicated by the fact that he is really, really good. Look out if you play him! On the Wraith thing...maybe it has something to do with rezzing him with a soul bomb?
