So... it's not hardware related? I'm glad everyone involved understands the complexities of system design. Although this is the one fix that could convince me to keep playing this game.

What the gently caress? edit: vvv Dude, that means he's played more Squad Deathmatch than any other mode. Presumably roughly everyone has played every mode at least once. That would be a fairly worthless filter.

now I know that has to be an error, since I'm sure more than one person has played SquadDM, there's an unlock which requires it!

Now could they fix the voice chat on xbox? It's okay when 2 guys are talking in your squad, but as soon as that third guy pipes in you can't understand anyone. Worse yet, if some guy has a busted mic and its all static 24/7 you can mute him on the dashboard but you get to hear that bullshit static. The only solution is party chat which works perfectly, but that really only makes sense when I'm playing with friends. I mostly pub when I'm grinding, and having a not poo poo teammate who's talking can help. Yesterday, I had a wookie actually use a mav for me and place it in the elevator room under the escalator in metro for me because I could talk to him. Unfortunately, once two guys start talking, a third usually will and then I couldn't understand any of them. "They... are... escalator...gently caress... you cut out?" And I've played 10 matches of squad deathmatch. I wish I never had to, that mode is truly awful. Either the map is wide open and the LAV rapes everyones face. Or the map is all buildings so the LAV is useless. Regardless I always run to it and try to blow it when held by an enemy. Inadvertently, 2 or more of my squad mates are recons hiding somewhere, and I guess since they aren't dying they aren't hurting me too bad. That's usually left with one assualt who might be marginally useful, and me as an engie so I can blast the LAV/repair it when I get it. Oh and metro is a wide open field without an LAV so your teammates just get shot in the face over by snipers over and over again. weaaddar fucked around with this message at Jan 20, 2012 around 16:58 |

The gun unlocks are kills based where the gun unlocks are level/XP based per kit. If you want certain attachments for a gun TDM for a round or two is a quick way to get them.

Once you get a certain amount of XP in a class you'll start unlocking guns you can use on both sides which makes earning unlocks for them a lot easier. It's annoying early on but as soon as you get the M416 for Assault or the SCAR-H for Engineer you should use them over the M16 or M4. The M249 for Support is no longer the face destroying gun it was on launch but it's still very good, plus has a giant box of belt fed goodness in place of the 45rd magazines the first two Support guns have, so again, use it to power through some unlocks that'll work regardless of team.

The M249 is so much fun with extended mags and a bipod. I had a game on metro yesterday where I literally would just hold down the trigger in a hallway and rack up kills. Its easy to fake people out - if you fire for a few seconds, then let off the trigger they assume youre reloading and pop out. Had my mic been in, everyone could have heard me laughing maniacally.

They kind of ruin the leader boards for regular assholes like me who just want to play the game normally, and I can't think of anything that would kill my enjoyment of this game faster then playing like that.

Hah, I have a 4 month old as well. Clearly we need to form a clan. I'm going to try and play a lot tonight. The past couple of nights have been...well, let's say frustrating affairs that eventually end with me ejecting the game in disgust and putting MW3 back in. But the few times it goes good, it's a blast. I'm hoping playing with goons will enliven the experience, if for nothing else than to have people to actually talk to. Any advice for someone too conditioned by CoD? It's rather frustrating to spawn in, say, a Kharg Island conquest game, run 8 loving miles towards some contested point only to be randomly knifed in the back and have to start all over again back at the same spawn point because everyone on my squad is either off doing gently caress-all or is just like me (read: bad at the game).

Sorry cause I'm sure this was already covered in the last thread but if I were to get off my lazy rear end and get a headset then what would you guys recommend for PS3? Not that I'll probably even remember to use it effectively. On the odd chance that I play at the same hours as goons and make it into a goon game then all you'll probably hear is an occasional "Aaaaah, gently caress." when I get gunned down trying to jihad a tank or something. It'd be nice to have the lovely voice chat directly in my ear though because I can baaaaarely hear you guys talk over the action in game without one. I'm assuming using a headset will provide that function.

Almost on my 3rd service star Yeah it's pretty much the best overall class, since right now you can snipe with shotguns and frag rounds, go close up and kill with the G18, destroy vehicles, and repair. Although, Support is way more effective at killing vehicles. I find that Recon is HELL fun to play, if you play it with PDW's, Shotguns, or my favourite, bolt-action sniper rifles with taclights, straight pull bolts and either 4xscopes or no scopes.. (This setup RAPES in hardcore) DEER HUNTING SEASON!

The Downfall posted:I ran engineer from the get-go. And I still find myself playing that over everything. Almost on my 3rd service star Use whatever it takes to win. I find myself playing engineer or assault more than anything because assault comes in handy when you're running low on tickets and engineers get rockets and the M4A1, and both classes excel at killing people while you run around like a maniac. Recon can come in handy if you're having trouble making it through the defense -- a forward spawn beacon on Op Metro can be the deciding factor between winning and losing, and dropping a MAV in a highly trafficked area gives your team a big advantage as long as they can read the minimap. Also a general tip: Don't forget to juggle your squad perks to maximize effectiveness. You gain nothing by doubling up on something so make sure to talk it over with your crew and have people running unique perks. It's a greater benefit than you think, I can't count the number of times Squad Flak has saved my life.
