Are knife ribbons generally annoying and hard to get in BF3 then? Looking at my stats the knife is my most used 'weapon' but I have like 4 Knife ribbons if that. 4 kills in a game of just knifing is impossible!

Which server regions are the best to use? I've been getting lag a lot lately. I live just west of Chicago. Also, as far as using falling debris goes, I've been doing that since day one. It's incredibly effective mostly on maps like Serine Crossing, Grand Bazaar, and most of the BTK maps. I get the most kills with this tactic on Serine since most objectives are right below buildings. Points A and B are awesome for this.

Signed up on battlefieldgoons as Udenpah and I'm tired of lone wolfing. I'm just OK, not on goon tier yet, playing mostly support roles. I've been lone wolfing too long in this game and it feels like I can never not be an engineer or, the second I switch to assault, all hell breaks loose with enemy armor. Its probably just me, as I hate back capping some point to see an APC roll up and be able to do jack squat about it. Also, just got a hold of someone's USAS12/Frags today. That is a mean gun. Is the USAS12 just an assault unlock?

We regularly have a full party of 8 people and almost always have no problems getting everyone in the same server, and usually on the same team within a rather short period of time. I accidentally ended up with someone elses kit yesterday. I mis-placed a claymore, tried to pick it up and swapped class instead. Found what I though was my kit and swapped back. I would have been playing as support. My question still stands though. Also I kind of play hot and cold and won't really consider joining anyone if I'm having a bad day. I'm usually an engineer but have been mixing it up recently to try to get some unlocks. It's not uncommon to see me offering ammo to or defibrillating enemy armor as a result  you'll usually see me with a DAO-12 or a G53 with varying setup depending on level. The enemy usually has a massive hard-on for me because of my aggressive use of various explosives in self propelled, vehicle assisted and stationary. I also use vehicles a lot, but have SFA unlocks for air units and can't fly planes for poo poo yet. Thanks for the lack of sandbox for practice, DICE. Now you know what you're dealing with, people.

I make a real mess in that level. Wiped out the Tunguska that way too. To add insult to injury I jumped out beforehand and the buggy wedged under the Tunguska and flipped it before it detonated. It's also a good way of holding North base. because the buggies spawn so rapidly it's easiest to throw ammo on/near the buggy, load up on C4 and either charge if there is something coming or chuck laps, running over peds as necessary until something does. I love how the C4 is set off my a good impact.

I level recon with buckshot based death because I can't snipe for poo poo.  I've mostly been rocking the javelin lately myself. I see why it's frustrating to use. Slow as heck so easy to break lock on, plus it'll lock onto empty vehicles over crewed ones. But when it hits it's a instant disable, and to be honest I find it kind of funny watching how screwed up the missile pathing gets sometimes. Those rocket launchers at the spawn? They're also pretty fun even though they take a age to reload. I've had some lucky shots where I've bent missiles around buildings and blown dudes up.

That's not a bad idea. I'm the same way. My recon class has no unlocks at all because I despise it. If I want to be a sniper I use my G53. What. Single shot mode, heavy barrel, 12x sight. It can't out-distance my poor sniping ability. I usually get stabbed in the back before I can hit anyone anyway. That gun I mentioned. I borrowed it in Seine Crossing. Hit and killed someone effectively in the archway from the second storey of one of the buildings flanking the square, so I'm guessing if it is a shotgun it has slightly better ranged ability than my clockwork boomstick. Even solid slugs would struggle with that in that situation with the DAO-12. On that subject, is it a bug or hax I keep coming across. I can, and have many times, emptied an entire magazine of something like a shotgun into someone at point blank. They kill me with one shot. Deathcam shows 100% health. I know I'm not the only one this happens to. hell, I've even seen 4+ people go up against one of these terminators, throwing everything they have at them close range only to be killed one by one by one by this Cyberdyne menace. I only hope they find John Connor and leave me the gently caress alone

Oh at the risk of sounding like a terrible person... Delete the karkland map pack (the 2.1 GB "market content") but do not delete the online pass. I've gone 28/0, etc. IRNV works nicely again. You can max out vehicles and get all the unlocks. Re-install karkland (by dashboarding and accepting the update) and you're back. That and everyone is rank 10 or below, so it's noob stomping. Plus I enjoy it...

So, after being a total Support whore for basically my entire BF3 career, I've started trying to branch out. Engineer because I love tanks, and Assault because it's really useful for the team on maps like Metro and Bazaar. This has introduced me to a whole slew of new annoyances. Pubbie, if I'm riding with you and I hop out to repair because you're being shot to death by another tank, it behooves you to not drive the gently caress off and get blown up mid-repair. And if you're engaged in tank vs. tank combat, focus on shelling the other tank and let me gun down the little pissant infantry running around us. I'm not terrible at this game- I have proximity scan and chances are I'll get them. Another helpful tank tip for any people new to BF3: don't rush other tanks going backwards. Your rear end is very delicate. In fact, Beelze, any chance you could mention how vulnerable different spots on the tanks are in the vehicle section of the OP? If I'm in your chopper, fixing your poo poo, do not dive out of the cockpit while we're fifty feet above the ground just because someone gets a lock on us. Then I have to die, respawn and ghost ride a jeep into your stupid, stupid face at the next opportunity. It's a lose-lose situation. For all of my bitching, I've actually run into a lot of good players lately. Had a fantastic game on Seine tonight where it was really close. I've also stopped actively seeking out goon games, because it inevitably turns into a murderfest where we spawn camp the poo poo out of the other team.

Not only can you climb the goon dogtags taken ladder, but you also get the challenge of playing against competent and attentive players. This really only works if you have equal goon strength on both sides. Nobody wants to be the only Team Victory player against the horde. But in the match I just linked it was me and Flex vs. TheAce and the two Irishmen (before Oiwoy's Internet poo poo out), and it was close the whole way down. Good times.
