Awww, what the gently caress. I've been playing through the campaign on hard for my first go through to get it all over with and just finished Night Shift. I saw that there was an achievement I missed at the very beginning so I restarted the level, got it, then quit out. Now I want to resume so I choose to replay a mission, go to Rock and a Hard Place, and can't select anything above Easy. This is a bit of BS that I'll have to either redo Night Shift but hopefully not have to start the entire campaign over again. Since I'm not up for that right now I'm going to start with the multiplayer. I believe I'm on the bf3goon site already so I'm posting here to request a metatag invite or see if anyone is on now. Beelzebozo posted:You're in the database, but you won't show up on the site until you actually play a multiplayer match. It actually took me several minutes to figure out why your stats weren't polling. It never occurred to me that somebody would register before even playing. I guess I'm just ahead of the game with that. In reality I've got a lot of experience with battlefield games and know ahead of time that I want as little to do with pubbies as possible. I played some games last night so hopefully it's been updated. GT is Rabbit Holed if you need that again to sort out the metatag. Initial observations: gently caress frag rounds (I need them), metro as US is the worst map, and just like any battlefield it's possible to dominate the scoreboard simply by making a modest attempt at the goddamn objective.

Are there any good chopper pilots on 360 that could use a dedicated gunner? I want to get good with the choppers but just started playing this version so I'd like to sit copilot and unlock perks while helping with repairs and whatnot, though it'd help me out to get some pointers just by flying along with someone. I like the role but pubbies would just as soon take off empty-handed than work cooperatively with a gunner, let alone actually communicate, so I figure it'd be nice to have someone on my friends list to fly with. e: GT Rabbit Holed Also, is there a good way to practice flying? I realized last night that I don't even think I have my controls set up how I'd like so things didn't go too well in the middle of a match. I haven't flown choppers since Desert Combat back on PC so this is much different for me Teeter fucked around with this message at Jan 18, 2012 around 02:03 |

Rad, will do. Haven't even checked out coop in the main menu because I've been waiting for a friend to get the game

I can get lost in all these online stats for a while. This is a great game for stat spergs like myself. Not that I care enough about what the numbers are and how to maximize them, I just like to see that they're there. I do get the feeling that my win % will rise quite a bit once I play with goons though. I've yet to play with a good squad or use any sort of teamwork

This thread title never made sense to me until now E: awesome work, btw. I wish that every game could have this level of dedication to the OP. I feel spoiled Teeter fucked around with this message at Jan 20, 2012 around 00:22 |

Anyone want to grind out some squad deathmatch with me? I want to get the L85 but it keeps putting me on loser teams that don't even get half of the kills needed, mostly because people keep quitting ad nauseum and it's hard to win with that sort of handicap

SporkTSI posted:13simsm at gmail dot com That worked out nicely for us, thanks for helping out. I got disconnected in that last Oman round but it's not like we were taking it too seriously by that point anyway. protip: join an empty server of SQDM and switch around to stack the teams for easy victories. Our first game was 4v2 for the majority with every round after being slightly more full until it was finally a fair fight with the last game that we needed. Luckily we had some good pubbies that were also going on their 5th SQDM win so we managed to finish that and don't ever have to look back.

I need to start cataloging my hate mail. I've let them all expire since it's been more than 30 days since I've received anything but I suppose that means it's time to take on recon class so that I can get some new ones! Stay golden, Xbox Live.

I've gotta agree, but doubly so because of hardcore mode's lack of a HUD. I switch between full and semi auto with the L85 quite a bit so it's easy to lose track, especially when you throw in dying or getting revived. It's such a minor gripe but I also wish that you could have lights and lasers off by default. Mine are turned off most of the time so it would just make sense for me to be able to flip it on for the short time it's needed rather than the other way around.

I think I only use lights/lasers in maps with tight corners where you often run through to get an "oh poo poo!" panic moment when both people spray a bit. I'll turn it on when I anticipate the need to blind somebody or hip fire but leave it off or use an entirely different attachment. I probably change my attachments quite a bit throughout each round depending on how things are going so sometimes it's helpful to use a light to capture a particular flag/mcom then ditch it for a suppressor on my next life. I do love how pubbies tend to leave them on 24/7 though because that makes things much easier for me. e: Maps like Karkand are a good example. I'll use the L85 with a 4x or 6x scope because it's great for mid-long range, however there are so many buildings that I often find myself in close encounters where the scope I have equipped is just too much. Turning a laser on whenever I'm entering a building helps work around that. Teeter fucked around with this message at Jan 26, 2012 around 22:16 |

Nashlogic posted:It seems that a lot of people don't know that in hardcore mode you can press down on the d-pad and look around with the right stick while flying. This helps with the lack of 3rd person view. I wish so badly that I could re-bind controls any way I'd like. I feel like it would be much easier to have free look on something like RB with flares on the dpad. As it is now I have pitch/roll on the left stick and it's near-impossible to use that and the dpad at the same time.
