The best thing is that certain people are MAV magnets. A friend and I were playing TDM last night and one round we each got 12 kills, 4 of mine and 5 of his were one guy. He sent us both hatemail.

Ok, I'm very confused. I was on a normal, ranked server and somehow a guy was able to teamkill me by running over me with the MAV and other vehicles. Right afterward I tried to do it to a friend of mine but I just nudged him; no damage. He was a level 75 colonel (http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf...30/4/221128883/). Any clue what happened?

You don't graduate MAV school until you put up 15 kills in one round of Metro. (It's actually really easy to do if the other team has B and your team has A. They crowd together like morons and you can bowl over 3 in a row over and over.)

Is it possible to jump in the CITV station, call out a target, then hop back over to the driver seat, lock on and destroy it? CITV+guided is pretty awesome on some maps when I have a friend playing with me, but pubbies almost never have either turned on.

Did they change map rotations or something? For the last week I have seen 0 karkland maps. Before I would often get long runs of them but lately I get none. I can still manually select to play on them on the server browser, it's just weird never seeing them randomly come up. Is there a filter setting that only looks for non-b2k servers that I may have accidentally turned on? Also speaking of map rotations in general, I've seen a couple people make reference to them following a set rotation. I haven't see that though; sometimes I even get back to back on the same map. Does that vary by server or something?

Certain things are starting to really annoy me about this game, and a lot of them aren't really gameplay related. If I invite someone to my squad and we join a game that is 17/24 full there is absolutely no excuse for us not getting put on the same team. Worse is when I pick a server with 3 open spots and someone joins before one of us can switch. Not having special servers is terrible. There should be servers of certain map packages (infantry focused, vehicle focused, etc.) Apparently the reason is so that they can charge us for custom servers in a few months when half the player base has already moved on? Having conquest assault mixed in with real conquest is the most retardidly lazy thing I can think of though. Most of this rant stems from my friend and I trying to grind out Scarred Veteran and this is the worst one. If I pick a server that says Gulf of Oman Conquest I'm 50/50 as to whether it is actually conquest. I hate the new maps (if I ranked all maps the new ones would be the bottom 4 except firestorm would be last) so I was never going to get the achievement through regular play, but the whole 'never being on the same team' and 'not knowing if you're actually loading assault' is making it a serious, serious grind. I dunno, hopefully when dedicated servers roll out there will be enough people that buy them to get a little customization. Have they announced a price yet?

Right, but I mean more along the lines of infantry based maps (metro, bazare, siene) and vehicle based (karg, firestorm, nosehair.) The infantry based ones still usually have vehicles, they just aren't the focus. I mean, if you go to an infantry only server and firestorm comes up does the whole server just drop out? Or did they take a few maps out for that option?

The crazy thing is it's just one guy, and he just records all of his games and edits together the good stuff. He's set up a few of the stunts (jihad jeeping a helicopter) but for the most part it's legit.

I have over 6 days of playtime and I'm liking the game more post-patch than pre-patch, and I really liked it pre-patch, so take that however you will. Even if they took away my MAV whoring.

Yeah I've actually met quite a few pretty cool people playing the game on PS3. None that I've had really in-depth conversations with but I've noticed that some people (generally the ones that you'd actually want to talk to) don't plug in their mics until they hear someone else that isn't a shrieking 14 year old talking.

I disabled an attack copter with one 320, but I can't say for sure that it wasn't partially damaged already. It was pretty great though because the pilot had to bail out and I got his as soon as he landed with my last 320 round at decent range.

I've got a server for a week called "booftime." If anyone wants to mess around with the settings and stuff send me a PM and I can make you an admin on it. Right now it's playing Kharg 500% and it seems like people are staying on it which is horrifying.

Just a few notes on custom servers: You can pick any map on your rotation to be the next map, but it has to be in the rotation you set up. Rotations are completely customization and you can put any game mode on any map on there. Also you can keep different map rotations around. You can kick people out from in the game, but from outside the game you can only ban them, so if you want to kick someone to make room for yourself on your server you have to ban them. You can't end a match in the middle, so if you do something stupid like 500% Kharg you have to wait till the end of the round for any server changes to take effect. You can change most settings and keep it as a ranked server, but if you change bullet damage, health, man down time or respawn time it won't be. I think I'm going to keep my server for a little while, not necessarily as a goon-server but if any goons want on the VIP list I'll put them on. Server name is booftime.

Maybe it's just me but I'm having a ton of luck with the A-91 (foregrip, laser, RDS I think) on the new maps. It just spits bullets so fast and reloads so fast that I'm winning the majority of the time when I turn a corner and run into a guy or two. The RPG is moderately useful for clearing out a room or taking out a sniper too, but inferior to the rest of the kits really. Still, the gun is a lot of fun to roll with.

I was hosed over by a player farting and nobody will ever convince me otherwise. But it's ok. I'm back in 5th. I'm on the MTAR but suddenly so are two other people. I'm tied for 5th with two other people. That's ok, I've got a guy in my crosshairs and I'm firing and 100 POINT loving KILL ASSIST WHAT THE gently caress EA DICE ROT IN HELL. 2. 2. 2 100 point kill assists in one game. 2 fart kills. To add insult to insult and injury another suppression ribbon pops up. I'm so glad to have helped my team in a free-for-all game mode where I can't kill half the people because  It wasn't surprising that the end of the round was me pointing my gun at a guy I was tied with and dying when he was at 2% health. It didn't make a difference, I was in 7th after he got that kill, but it fit. gently caress this game mode. gently caress that gun. I want it, but gently caress it, I played gunmaster for four hours over two days just trying to finish in the top 5 once and I just can't do it anymore. And that is the story of why I kicked my wall until nails came out.
