Which server regions are the best to use? I've been getting lag a lot lately. I live just west of Chicago. Also, as far as using falling debris goes, I've been doing that since day one. It's incredibly effective mostly on maps like Serine Crossing, Grand Bazaar, and most of the BTK maps. I get the most kills with this tactic on Serine since most objectives are right below buildings. Points A and B are awesome for this.

Has anyone had problems with getting your tank completely destroyed by a single rocket? I've been having this happen to me quite a bit lately. I have no idea how it happens. Once I had some dude run up to my tank, C4 it, and then die. A few minutes later a single rocket slams into my tank killing me and blowing up the tank. Does C4 carry over after people die? I've been killed with one shot before by someone shooting a rocket at tank mines near my tank, but the lately this is just leaving me scratching my head. Seems to happen at least once a BF3 session.

Also, I might have to start playing with goons. It sounds fun, but I don't do voice chat. It just annoys me for some reason. I've denied a bunch of goon requests for that reason because I have seen other goons get called out by others for not using a mic. If not using a mic isn't a big deal feel free to add me. MAV bowling better not get removed. Not only is it fuckin hilarious chasing people down, but it's a great way to sit out one of your least favorite maps and still help the team. I was playing Metro CQ and there was a squad of three camping the hallway with the lockers. I drove my little MAV straight down that drat hallway and got all three of them. MAV squad wipe ribbons are the best ribbons.

You can easily distract 4-5 guys on CQ for a decent amount of time. Whether you kill a few or not, you just stopped them from advancing, and let everyone on your team know right where they are. I tend to do it more on the COD type maps. Chasing blinking flags starts getting old when you're the only one doing it.

Sibtiger posted:It's a glitch that involves the TV missile. If you're in an attack heli by yourself, you can land with a friend on the opposing side nearby, switch to the gunner seat and fire the TV missile. As long as you're controlling the missile, the game considers your player to be the missile, not the guy in the gunner seat, so the helicopter is technically considered empty, and your friend can hop in the pilot's seat. When the missile blows up the game will still return you to the gunner seat and you get the situation described above. Had no idea this could be exploited that way. I typically fly choppers rather than gun, and whenever a gunner with TV missiles jumps in I always think they bailed when they fire the missile. Hopefully this gets fixed in the next upcoming patch, but I'm not going to hold my breath. It's going to suck to have to deal with this. On a different note, this frag round poo poo is getting annoying. At first I didn't really care. People can play the game whatever way they want to if you're asking me, but the frag rounds are beyond ridiculous now. I'm constantly running into entire squads using nothing but USA12's with frag rounds. Whenever I squad up I'll jump in an empty squad slot so I get to be the squad leader. I do this because I actually call out objectives. Anyone not going after those objectives gets kicked from the squad. That and anyone rolling with frag rounds. Not playing your class gets you booted too. All of that may make me sound like an rear end, but it makes playing the game more enjoyable. One good squad vs a stacked team can really turn the tides of a CQ game.

Just for the sake of being a dick I stand in front of him and shine my flashlight in his face...so he immediately suicides, respawns and then takes a tank out into the middle of a field to do the same loving thing. Persistence! I've been noticing Support dudes hanging out in that area recently. I have no idea why, but I've been running across 2 to 3 at times. That and now there's at least one tank with zoom optics and guided shells that will sit there the whole round. The terrain is so rough in that area that going after the camping tank with another tank is an easy kill. Something I've been wondering about is guided shells vs aircraft. Do flares stop the incoming round? Seems flares only work half the time if at all when I get a guided shell lobbed my way. In jets its a non-factor, but in choppers it's annoying. In the choppers you have to stay low because if you're effective at killing ground targets at all, you can bet your rear end someone you've killed is going to hop in a jet just to ram you.

I hit 5,000 destroyed vehicles last night. I owe it all to my kamikaze style tank tactics. Anytime I'm alone in a tank and get into a shoot out with another tank I'll hit the speed boost and go right at the enemy tank. This usually makes the other tank miss every drat shot. Also takes less shots to kill the enemy tank since I end up shooting them in the rear end. Karhg Island is awesome for this.

Not that I'm gonna stop but it will certainly diminish the fun if it is a bit cheatyish. Use it. I used them to service star all of the shotguns except the one you unlock doing the assignments. For some reason I lost most 1 vs 1 battles while I was trying to service star them. Probably started shooting before I was in any kind of effective range. Once I unlocked frag rounds for each I was able to service star them all within two maps. It's cheap, but you might as well take advantage of it now. As soon as you get on anyone's rear end it turns into a turning war. Most times the jet you're going after will just start turning in circles until you break off out of boredom. Wish Dice would fix the whole jets ramming choppers thing. I've been shot down by jets before, but most times if I die by a jet while flying a chopper it's because the bastard rammed me cause his little heat seekers couldn't get me. The thing about the Havok is that in order to turn at a decent rate you need speed + room room to bank into the turn. That's about the only way to kill a Viper with it. Sort of reminds me of the difference in the Huey in Vietnam and the Apache in BC2. Although the Huey had no trouble turning, at least in my experience. I loved that bullet magnet.

So I just get a passing glimpse of them and then they're gone for another 5 minutes. It gets lonely up there if I'm not constantly getting shot down by ace pilot poop sockers. Air radar. Until you unlock it, looking for enemy jets suck. It's a little easier to see them in third person though. Do yourself a favor and hit the spot button as soon as you see em. Next time you're on a jet level just pick an area someplace on the map to practice getting on and off the throttle in turns. Speed makes all the difference in turns. Also learn to use both sticks. You'll be surprised how much quicker the plane does anything once you get used to using both while turning/flipping direction. I suck in jets though so you might not want to listen to me. Also, I'm not sure, but I don't think you get a lock tone in the attack choppers when a guided shell locks onto you. Is there some new glitch for attack choppers? I've been coming up against some indestructible choppers. The first time I chalked it up to lag, or the other chopper shooting me down before I fired. After about the third time chasing down the chopper and putting about six heat seekers into it I started to get a little suspicious. I could see the missiles hit the rear of the chopper and explode, but it never took any damage. This has happened a few times now on different servers. Seems to happen to jets as well. Seen both missiles impact and do no damage.
