If I touch the username and password fields get cleared and I can try again but I never get past the loading screen. If you have successfully logged in since the update, but still get the login screen every time you start the app, then it failed to save your cookie. I'd try reinstalling and see if that helps.

Well, it looks like I found the issue. The app is crashing due to an invalid string in the cookie. There's a semicolon present ('_csref; _cst'), which according to this makes the app cry. I can't persist the cookies if I can't even retrieve them from the web browser... So I guess as long as I (or any of you who the app is currently working for) don't logout, the cookies that were saved still work. Until Choochacacko is finished making his updates to SA, there's nothing I can do. I seem to be having the worst kind of luck these days.

These sort of things will be inevitable as long as you're scraping pages with somebody actively developing the forums again. I just hope Chugachoochoo (or whatever his name is) is also working on an API...

Seems to be working after reinstalling the app just minutes ago. Permanent or just luck? edit: Yeah, short-lived happiness. Stopped working after an hour or so. So I guess we're still waiting for the cookies. Toper Hollyphant fucked around with this message at Jun 15, 2012 around 15:54 |

Alright guys, I've decided to Beta this one so I can be *completely* sure that the app works for people other than myself. Everyone who participated in the last beta is invited. If you'd like to participate post your Windows Live email here, or send me a PM. I've added some gestures as well:
You can adjust the sensitivity in settings or disable swiping altogether. bootleg robot fucked around with this message at Jun 18, 2012 around 16:37 |

hotsauce posted:I got the dev update but it appears to be nothing more than the browser version shrunk into the Awful! app? No, the browser is there so you can login via the web form directly. If it isn't moving to the main page (forums, bookmarks, etc.) then it's the cookie failure. The weird thing is that it's intermittent; sometimes I'm able to grab the cookies from the browser, other times it fails.

I'm not on AT&T and have only been able to log in properly once, now I just get the browser view as posted above. Reinstalling has not helped. I suppose quotes are in whatever theme color one is using and posts are in gray but quite often the whole post was in quote color. When swiping left/right to go back/next I would prefer the page to slide left or right instead of fading down. It would make more sense to me and give a better idea of if I just navigated prev. or next page. Ringo R fucked around with this message at Jun 21, 2012 around 11:27 |

I want to say this started happening about 2 weeks ago? Maybe a bit longer? Edit: it sometimes works if I delete the cookies and try logging in again, but even that has become a crap-shoot.

Posts with colored text are posts you've read already. That's how you can differentiate read posts from new posts on threads you've visited before. I agree with animations -- it was more of a shoehorn for convenience. I'll properly animate them later, solving the login issue is more of a priority for now. Once you were able to successfully login, you should not have to until you logout or uninstall the app.

The Marketplace finally let me install the beta version this morning. I also can't get out of the browser window; I log in and then it pushes me on to the forums. Trying to log in again brings me back to the login page, but notably I'm not signed out of the forums. I'm on AT&T but this was done over my home Wifi. I have IE set not to remember browsing history, if that matters, but the cookie is obviously saved. Ironically, I've had no login issues with the release version, so I'm sticking with that for the moment. I'll check the dev version every once in a while to see if it fixes itself.

Dev version seems to be logging in fine but still doesn't store credentials in my Lumia 900 (AT&T with custom language files sent over to it) Have to re-log in each time. Otherwise it works great, really fantastic stuff. Might add the Nice button that is used in YOSPOS buttttttttttttttt that's not groundbreaking.

Sporting a Lumia 800 Edit: To clarify - i'm using the Marketplade version (non-dev) 1.14.0.0
