Downtime posted:Thanks for the tip, looks like I'll have a few more shots at getting that Gundam on each account. I got my GP-03 from one of the mission quests, it is the best. Just find people from the guild who are on and bug them to run missions with you. You get a useful suit and they get exp that they would be getting anyway running with random idiots in missions or pvp. The 03 is a rather decent and easy to acquire A rank scissors and yes, you want to grab an A rank as soon as possible, C ranks just don't have the power output/health to last outside of the early easy missions and unless someone is putting a rank cap on in pvp, you will be crushed because your suit is made of tinfoil. Now doesn't mean dragging a C rank with you in missions is always a bad thing (you get extra rewards for every C rank in your party), but only if the rest of the party can carry you through the mission and you know to stay the gently caress out of danger. ![]() Also, as Schubalts said, the mission quests also can give you a stupid amount of money and as your Pilot Rank goes up more quests are unlocked. Also, there is really no need to make multiple accounts, just take the time to get a decent mission reward suit and go from there until you find something that suits your play style. No point in starting over again and again when you can at least be leveling up a temporary suit. Enzer fucked around with this message at Jan 25, 2012 around 21:45 |

Do the starter missions to get a wide selection of suits then figure out which kind of suit you like to play the most and then go for blueprinted version of that suit or it's upgrade. Made units always are better then bought or gatchapon ones.

Well, acting like an overconfident douchebag using the worst suits in the game, or using good suits in completely the wrong way is certainly one way to break the monotony of grinding.

What the gently caress. All I've been doing is PvPing with my Messala (actually very fun, use MA mode to snipe dudes and boost around like crazy and then dump tons of damage in MS mode against Rocks charging against me. Then a Scissor comes out of nowhere and shits on me because they're all Rank A Gundams of some sort with easy hit scan beam weapons) so I don't know much about grinding missions. I did find this post on the forums about advanced tactics.Typical Korean MMO Player posted:General Info: Basically Move Cancel Animation or whatever it stands for is abusing a bug where if you swap a weapon in the middle of a melee combo it'll reset you to a neutral state so you can then immediately dash around to get critical hits from behind or just to dodge things. Apparently this is a legitimate tactic in "tourneys in Korea" or whatever that means so there you go. If you're gonna melee you have to learn how to do this. Luckily all my favourite suits are Paper so melee sucks anyway.

Capsule machines are definitely not random. I've hit machine 19 15 times now and gotten everything at least twice, but not a single ZZ Gundam.

Speaking of using movement cancellation, some guy tried to teach me how to use switching to weapon one and slashing while boosting vertically to go up indefinitely or something along those lines. He used it to get above the water in that one underwater PvP level and then just spammed his unit's funnel weapon. To quote Milliardo Peacecraft from DWG:2, "The funnels are my true enemy"

Pretty sure they are weighted towards C rank. The A ranks seem to be the rarest thing in each Gacha, then the Rare, then the B. Just my experience though, might not be true at all! In other news, I've decided to make one of the Blueprints. Astray Blue Frame 2 or whatever the end of it is. I got all the mecha, all that's left is the blueprint (About halfway there) and getting Blue Frame up to Custom1, I'm halfway or a little bit more through Veteran right now.

Thanks for the answers, I was planning on rolling with whatever character name I came up with at the time once I got that MS. I finally decided that doing this was dumb, and got the same Gundam I was trying to get after about 2 hours worth of missions .

So I got a blueprint (Cgue Deep Arms) and the required other stuff (Custom1 Cgue, Zuoot, Zaku II Fz, and GM), but it won't let me construct the new suit. It says: unit mix cannot be done. Number of material unit is insufficient ...which is what it says when I use any of the random blueprints for which I don't have all the required suits. Anyone know what's going on here? EDIT: Nevermind - I figured it out. The crafting interface is really unintuitive (for me) - you have to drag and drop each required suit down into the squares below that say "SD GUNDAM CAPSULE FIGHTER UPGRADE". aparmenideanmonad fucked around with this message at Jan 26, 2012 around 19:22 |

I do it in this order: turn on hotspotshield (keep it on the 'disconnect' screen in a window ready), run the OGP client and login to it, start SDGO. Let the patcher and X-Trap run. As soon as the X-trap icon disappears from the bottom-right of your screen, disconnect hotspotshield the split second you have before the SDGO client goes to fullscreen and starts loading. There's really nothing else to it, though the client did hang the first couple of times. I have no idea why this works. I figure region filter is an OGP frontend thing, while once launched the SDGO client does its own connection check without any region filters in place and just shrugs and reconnects you. Or something.

raverrn posted:Applied as KinkaidNau, running with Gundam ZZ for now. Yes and no. The transformations all run off of a different boost system which basically means you are faster and can boost further when you are transformed. Some of the more super awesome suits have special abilities in MA mode like immunity to beam attacks and poo poo. It doesn't actually change your stats though so a special attack is always gonna do x ammount and so on.

Looking at the wiki there are so many units I wish were in this version that aren't yet! Mainly X Astray since I'm an Astray fanboy... Anyone know about how often the American version has been getting "new" suits added to the Store / in game Gachapon? Speaking of which, got my Blue Frame L today, and got the pleasant surprise of finding out that you keep your key unit, so I can use Blue Astray to make Calamity Gundam too if I collect the grunt suits for that. Is there any particular reason to go for a blueprinted mech if it's also available in Gachapon? Specifically, I'm shooting for Blue Destiny Unit 1 (I'd rather have Unit 2 but that apparently isn't out yet? Or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong place), and it'd require me leveling a GM Ground Type quite a bit. Why should I do that instead of just gambling at the Gachas for a bit until I get it with less trouble?
