Speaking of bad DVD covers, I'm really not loving the cover for Drive that's due out soon:

Not a sign of the retro hot-pink font, Ryan Gosling's whole body appears to be animated, and for some reason they put the scorpion on the front of his jacket too. But that shouldn't stop everybody from buying and watching it, because it was excellent, and has a fantastic cast too.

edit: I'm just noticing it now because it's thumbnailed, but is it just me or is his head juust ever-so-slightly too big for his body?

There was a lottery to win the chance to buy the poster awhile ago, that's how I got mine. I bought Robocop direct from his site back in 2008 for a whopping $30.

I think he meant the fully uncut, 4 hour long, one movie edition of Kill Bill, called "The Whole Bloody Affair." I thought I heard about it being released in Japan a while ago, but other than that, nothing :(

He was inspired by an extremely common burglar tactic to produce a movie in which fur-suited killers murder people! For some reason this reminds me of another quote...

Where did you get "fur-suited" from? You can see in this poster everyone's wearing pretty normal clothes:

But the "Based on True Events" thing is absolute bullshit.

Open the full versions of these posters and switch between them really quick. There's something weird going on with the ears and hair of Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin. It looks like they copied the face of one guy and pasted it onto the face of another and some parts of the face below still stick out or something.

Yeah, it looks like they pasted Tommy Lee Jones' face and neck onto Brolin. But if I had to guess, I'd say it's for one of those posters that changes as you walk by.

How large are those by the way? I tried googling it but couldn't find any info or pictures of them next to anything but blank walls but maybe I'm just a moron.

I'm pretty sure they were really small, like nowhere close to poster size. I doubt they were more than $20 each.

As mediocre as the film is I really like the title Live Free or Die Hard. Pity it's called Die Hard 4 point loving 0 here in the UK.

"Die Hard 4: Live Free or Die Hard" would have been a lot better, considering it follows the naming conventions of the previous 3.

Funny, Poltergeist never affected me, although that may be because I saw it when I was so young I couldn't process it.

Silence of the Lambs, on the other hand, hosed me up pretty badly. Grandma! :argh:

I'm in two minds about this design. It's kind of lazy with a lot of empty space, but at the same time, it's sort of reminiscent of road signs which I guess makes sense.

I like it, even though it seems a little derivative of the poster for The Devil's Rejects (which I'm sure is derivative of something else).
